"Fair game, for it's time"

This game is a decent game, and while having a fair amount of wrestlers from the time the game is made, it still needs work.

Controls: 6/10

The controls are a little muddled. In the manuals and the FAQs here, the moves are shown in standard Direction-Button. However, in the game, moves must be done in a Button-Direction fashion.d Also, I have yet to pull off a finisher. I have been in a tie-up, but I just can't pull it off. I can't tell if it's me or the game.

Sound: 5/10

Sound is good for the game, though I can't hear the sound effects, even with the sound off. Also, the music is monotonous, though fortunately it is not the ''Pomp and Circumstances'' of the NES's first WWF game.

Fun Factor: 6/10

There is a small selection of matches, though there are plenty of possible wrestler combinations. The lack of a Hardcore match is unfortunate, as with the absence of chairs, which were present in the WWF games that came out during that time for the SNES. Also, a 2-player mode with the link cable is unfortunately not present. However, even with those absences the game is still enjoyable. The training mode is very helpful, especially for those neophytes trying to learn how to pull off a finisher, or those people who managed to beat the game without having to pull a finisher. My one pet peeve is that you can be pinned by the ropes, but in all other wrestling games, being pinned by the ropes causes a rope grab, forcing the pin to be broken. In this game though, if you pin by the ropes, there will be no rope grab, and thus you are stuck. The AI is especially cheap. To be specific, when the player is stuck in a rear grapple facing the turnbuckle, they will come out facing the turnbuckle, thus allowing the AI to continue to rear grapple until the life bar is diminished allowing for a pin, or until the wrestler is knocked on the ground, allowing for the wrestler to roll a way so he can stand up.

Replay Value: 7/10.

Here is where the game shines. The ladder for the Championship mode is randomly chosen, so you can go through it several times with the same wrestler and never have the same path to the belt twice. The game's also addition of a random selection feature allows the player to have an infinite number of matches in non-championship mode.

Average Score: 6/10
