"A Great Prequel to Secret of Mana"
Final Fantasy Adventure is a great action RPG packed with drama, humor, and a great cast of characters.
On to the review...
The game is very easy in most parts, but can be a bit frustrating at times. The controls are very easy to learn, mostly because there are only 4 buttons. The fun never stops.
This game has a pretty good story. The Mana tree is in danger, and only you can save the day. There are many helpful characters along the way, such as the Marcie the Robot, Bogard the Knight, and even your own Chocobo!
There are also a lot of plot twists to keep you wondering what will happen next.
The music is good, nothing spectacular though.
As for the SFX, each weapon has its own distinct sound, but the spells are kind of hard to tell apart. All of the attack magic sounds similar, and the same goes for defensive magic. Cure sounds like Sleep, Ice sounds like Lightning. Also, you're not going to want to turn down the volume in this game. You need to listen for weak parts in walls.
I would say the graphics are pretty good. Most of the characters are kinda dull looking, but the bosses are very well drawn. You can see each weapon you are using too. The sword, the spear, the morning star. It's cool to see each weapons full-power attack. Watching a spear fly across the screen, throwing your axe, the sword charge, etc.
There is a TON of exploring to do in this game. Huge dungeons, awesome weapons, the list goes on...
As with all RPGs though, it just doesn't feel the same playing it through again. You know what to expect, you know who dies...
Buy or Rent?
Buy it of course! You'll want to play it again, and again, and again. Well, you get the picture.
