Review by GrimWolf
"A fun RPG that's very similar to the NES and SNES Zelda games."
The graphics in this game are pretty good. It is never hard to see what’s going on, and hit detection is good. The backgrounds are pretty detailed, although I have seen better. The graphics are still good, though. The spells and items are pretty cool looking, too, for instance, you can plainly see the circling sheep when the Sleep spell is cast.
Play Control: 10
The play control is good, it is not hard to bring up menus, attack, cast spells, and equip spells, weaponry, and armor. Walking around is easy too, even with the added speed of the Chocobo.
Game Design: 10
With a variety of enemies and allies, humans and beasts, and swords and spells, this game is made well. It is a true classic, and true to the Seiken Densetsu series.
With good music and good sound effects, this game’s sound is dang good. It has good music, and the sound effects add to the game’s hit detection.
This game is RPG, right down to the heart. It has more RPG elements than you can shake a stick at. Although you go most of the game solo, you will have a variety of helpers, from an old swordsman to a robot to a maiden in distress. This game is very fun, and has a variety of bosses, from a huge vampire to a Cyclops to an evil king. They even threw in the classic two headed dragon! I bought the rereleased version, but I’m sure this game was good in its day. It still is now. Aimed at gamers of all ages, it’s packed with fun, adventure, and werewolves. The addition of two save files makes it even better, so you and a friend or brother or sister can both share one game pak, which cuts down on cost.
If you love the classic Zelda games, buy this game. Although it might be hard to find, it’s worth it. It’s a true classic.
