"Give it a try! Hudson soft makes good games!"

There are many platform adventure games with many different twists in it. many of them such as Super Mario Bros, and Metriod are very well known and had their moment in the sun. Then there is the other side where all of the unpopular games are. Today in this review, Adventure island will get the chance to show all of the good qualities (and the not so good). Stay tuned; your in for a surprise!

How is the Gameplay? 9 - 10
If your looking for a game with tons of levels; you came to the right place! Unfortunately, you may get sick of the game fast. The level layouts are boring to look at. Level one is flat as a pancake! To add to this, there is no password feature in this game. Adventure Island is a very unusual game. You play as some kind of jungle boy named master Higgins. In every level, you just simply walk to the right from beginning to end. Sounds easy, right? In between, you have to dodge enemies and keep your energy up. Oh Yeah, there's energy. Apparently Higgins needs food every little second to keep him going. When the energy runs out, it is an automatic death. You can ride dinosaurs in this game and they need energy too. If you think that's bad luck, Hudson soft added an eggplant to this game. the eggplants Higgins least favorite food; it rapidly takes away energy. This game has to do a lot with food; that's a plus for Master Higgins. Unless you have a dinosaur or a skateboard, you die when you get hit. Cool! there are skateboards in this game! Unfortunately you can't stop or go the opposite way but you can go faster. If your still not satisfied, Their are bonus games to get more points. Unfortunately, there are cons too, games are not perfect. One example are the bosses that the evil witch doctor created. The bosses are pretty descent but most of them just shoot and disappear and trust me; that can get boring.

That old story they use 4 - 10
To begin, its one of those "the princess is kidnapped" stories. The evil witch doctor is at it again and Higgins is the only one that can save Tina. Second of all, I feel bad for Tina. I wouldn't want some jungle boy saving me knowing that he wont do it without some food every ten seconds.

Graphics 5 - 10
Well the graphics have some disadvantages but the graphics are fair. When I say disadvantages I mean that everything looks boring and like your nowhere in the game. When everything moves at the same speed it looks like paper. I do give it credit for all of the environments in this game; that's a plus.

Sound 5 - 10
The sound is descent but can get a little annoying. It seems boring to listen to; you will see when you hear the music.

Playtime, 1 or 2 hours
This game will keep you entertained for about one or two hours. If your awful at this game maybe three hours. Once you get used to it, it will be a piece of cake to play so happy playing!

Will you play it again? Yeah!
I did. I don't know if you will, probably. Its a good enough game to play over and over again. Don't be scared of the graphics or the sound, its still a great game to play. you might as well play it again!

If you ever get your hands on this game; I recommend you to keep it.
Note: There are two different game packs for this game. One is in English and one is in Japanese so be careful.
