"Fun, Once You Get Used To It"

In Your Face is a basketball game for the original Game boy and was released by Jaleco. This is one of the first basketball games released for a portable system, and let's just say it's an awesome game.

GRAPHICS--10/10

The graphics can't get any better than this. The player animations are very fluid. The court looks like an actual outdoor basketball court and the scenes when you make a slam dunk are awesome. In other words, the graphics are excellent for a black-and-white Game boy game. They are even better if played on either a Game boy color or a Game boy Advance.

SOUND--10/10

The sounds are excellent as well. The dribbling sounds are great, the Music, even though there's only one song, is great and the sound of the slam dunk is awesome. This is by far the best sounds for a Game boy game.

CONTROLS--10/10

When I first played it, I couldn't get any points because I was committing traveling fouls even though I was trying to shoot the ball. Then I realized that I had to tap the B button twice, one to aim the shot, and the other to shoot the ball into the basket. The controls take some getting used to, but when you do become familiar with the controls, they are excellent.

GAME PLAY--10/10

You get two modes--1 on 1 and 2 on 2, and each of them are very good. You also get to choose how many minutes to play or how many points is needed to win the game. There are four characters to choose from and the rules of basketball are replicated in this game very well. In other words, it's a simple basketball game that is fun. You can also play a two-player game using the game link cable.

OVERALL--10/10

Once you get used to the controls on this game, this is an excellent basketball game which you'll enjoy time and time again. I recommend this game to any basketball fan who tires from playing today's basketball simulators. This game is worth the money paid for at your local Game stop or used video game store.
