"Just your basic football sim here"

Graphics: 6: Players look average on the field. There's a black team and a white team with an overhead view. There are little ref portraits whenever theres a first down, touchdown, or penalty. There are also logos for all the football teams.

Sound: 5: Like all Game Boy games, theres the traditional annoying background music. The sound effects sound weird, but you pretty much don't pay any attention at all to the sound because you can easily turn the sound off.

Gameplay: 6: Theres no Quarterback Challenge like there was in the previous NFL QB club games for Game Boy. Theres an NFL team liscense, but instead of real NFL players you just got there numbers in this game. All the NFL teams are in here(The Ravens are the Browns in this game). There are about 32 offensive plays and 16 defensive plays, which is pretty good amount for a Game Boy football game. For modes of play theres Preason(I.E. Exhibition), Playoffs, and Season mode where you save your progress via password. Actually there is only about 8 or 10 NFL players, but are only NFL Quarterback's who have there own Signature plays(One's called the "Young Gun"). You can set how long you want a quarter to last from 1 to 15 minute quarters, theres also another useless option which is the weather setting.

Replay Value: 6: There's no 2-player Link Mode. At least there is a password to save your progress through season mode. And all the NFL teams are here too. And there are plenty of game modes to keep you occupied from quick easy Preseason play to going through a 18 game season or skipping all those season games and goin right to the Super Bowl via Playoffs mode.

Overall: 6: The games pretty average overall. I would've really appreciated a 2-player mode, and especially the Quarterback Challenge added as well. All the real players would've been cool as well. The game is pretty decent overall and I reccommend getting this game if you can't wait until Madden NFL 2000 comes out for Game Boy Color this fall.
