"Is that a lineman or the ball? I don't know..."

Play-Action football is an ancient football game for the Game Boy. This would be like the netherlandals, and John Madden Football from 1990 would be like the first humans. On this scale NFL 2K, Madden 2000, and NFL Game Day 2000 are some evolution that hasn't happened yet.

GRAPHICS--1
There is no excuse for these sorry graphics. This game could have beem included in Pong it is so simplistic. I have trouble deciding which is the ball, and which is the offensive lineman. Once I swear I was sacked by a football. And my reciever caught a defensive tackle. Who knows. Even for ten or eleven years ago, the graphics are still horrible.

MUSIC--5
The music is mildly annoying but it gets the job done throughout the game. Oh wait, there is only music at the start screen. I lied. So I am basing this game on one song, which is average. It is like the NES techno-pop music, which at times is good and at times is very annoying.

CONTROL--1
Ugh! Even selecting plays is a chore. It took me playing the game 4 times to discover that there is more than one offensive play menu. Making your reciever catch the ball is next to impossible, as you have to move them to the exact spot yourself.

FUN--6
Despite all of these problems, this game is still remotely fun. I can't figure out why. Can anyone help figure out why this game is fun? Others, please write reviews and send them to GameFAQs so I can see if you think this game is fun, too.

CLOSING STATEMENT
I still cannot figure out why this game is fun. But it is. Play this if you are pretty desperate for a fun, cheap football game for the Game Boy. If you can put up with the graphics and control that is.
