Can this game trade to the American versions of Red and Blue?

I'd kind of like to use this game to get all three starters without trading from yellow. Will it work?

No, trades don't work between the American and Japanese versions and you will just get corrupt game data.

I don't think the Japanese games were able to trade with RBY because of a problem converting the names.
