"Before Brawl, there was Melee. Super Smash Bros. Melee is one of my favorite."
In 2001, after a launch of the Nintendo Gamecube for a week, Super Smash Bros. Melee was the sequel to the original in 1999. With a fighting game that was upgrade, Melee was the best Gamecube game of all time.
Super Smash Bros. Melee is bigger and better than the original Smash Bros. with a ton of features. There are 14 characters to choose from (11 unlock-able characters); there are 25 characters total. All 11 unlock-able characters will reward you to play All-Star Mode. First, on the single-player, there is Classic Mode (similar to 1-P Game in the original), Target Test in stadium, Training, and introducing a new mode called the Adventure Mode. It also features a new mode, such as Event Match, and stadium with Home-Run Contest and Multi-Man Melee. On the multiplayer, there is Melee, Tournament Melee, and Special Melee. There are 18 Stages to choose from (11 unlock-able stages); there are 29 stages total. Custom Rules let you choose Time, Stock, Coin, and Bonus. It also features a Name Entry to name any four-letter word for your consideration. Melee had introducing a trophies; it can be collect either Trophy Tussle in Classic Mode, in Adventure Mode, All-Star Mode, or Lottery (if you have enough coins to get more chance). This game also features a Gallery, Collection, Snapshot Mode (should take picture in Camera Mode on the Special Melee), watching special video and on How to Play, and Melee Records. These features are keeping you busy; there is tons of stuff to do. The single-player did not disappoint; the multiplayer is fantastic because all of the Custom Rules are just endless possibilities.
The gameplay is brilliant at best because it's the same Smash Bros. that we know and love. Control Stick, A, B, C-Stick, L-Button, R-Button, Z-Button, and Start button are very simple to master. Using a combo attack is played nicely.
The graphics for this game are beautiful and memorable. Stages are, of course, classic from Princess Peach's Castle to Fountain of Dreams. The colors and the backgrounds are step forward for this gen.
Super Smash Bros. Melee contains all the sounds and music from Nintendo past. The sound effects improve everything, making them more recognizable. The music in this game is excellent; range from the Opening Theme and Fountain of Dreams.
There is no stopping for playing Melee. Playing more of multiplayer rather than single-player let you play with your friends for countless hours. Collecting more trophies are much fun, especially you're in for single-player and lottery experience.
Overall: Super Smash Bros. Melee is a flawless multiplayer game. With brilliant features, improve gameplay, beautiful graphics, and awesome music, I'll recommend a must-buy, either from the store or on-line. Either way, it is one of my favorite Gamecube game of all time.
