Review by Ender Wiggin
"A long awaited sequel finally hits the U.S., and does not disappoint!"
Wow. The Smash Bros are finally back, and with tons of new improvements! So many new things are added, this is definitely not just a ''rehash,'' or remake with a few polished things. Tons of new modes, like adventure mode, and events, etc., and all new characters! All the original SSB characters are back, but along with the Ice Climbers, Bowser, Princess Peach, Zelda/Shiek, and much, much more! With 11 secret characters, and plenty more, you will be spending lots of time on this one! Thanks to the power of the Gamecube, the graphics are impressive. The characters are so detailed and alive, and the background are also spruced up quite a bit. More interactive stages, and plenty more items, make this game hard to put down. Anyway, on to the review!
There is no story! It doesn't need one either! I am sure you will be preoccupied with kicking the crap out of pikachu(or someone else) with one of your favorite Nintendo characters, such as Link, or Samus.
Wow. Graphics are amazing! You have to see them to believe it. They are better then those screenshots, and well, they are great. Both the characters, and the backgrounds are unbelievable, and I believe this game really shows off the power of the Gamecube.
Great controls, mostly the same as the Nintendo 64's version. The only thing I don't like, is the Z button, for throwing. It is a little out of the way. But otherwise, the controls are quick and responsive, and couldn't be better.
This is where it shines. The most fun multiplayer game of all time, but now, it is great for single player too, a much needed improvement over SSB. With so many new modes and mini-games, they will consume many, many hours of your life! There is really nothing better than seeing all those Nintendo characters beating the crud outta eachother.
How can you go wrong with this? You will spend hours and hours of playing this game. With so many new characters, the replay value is definitely there. You will want to collect all the trophies, and collect all the secret characters, and complete all the event modes, and unlock the stages, and the list goes on and on.
So in conclusion, this is a must-buy if you own a Gamecube. If you haven't played the original SSB, then this will be even better. You can't miss out on this excellent game, the long awaited Super Smash Brothers Melee.
