FIFA Soccer 2002

"Have Fun Missing the Goal Twenty Shots in a Row"
I didn't actually get this game myself. My dad actually did, and said that it would be a new masterpiece to add to our Game-Cube collection. Anyways, I decided to give it a shot, but I couldn't make any shots at all! This game is just too difficult to make you feel like you're really there. Sure, a little difficulty would be nice, but this game over-does that, and it's too hard to be a game. This game is nothing like real soccer, but it is still good enough to be a game.
Story-1/10
Like many games, this game doesn't have a story at all. There should have been a small story to get you more into this game. They do have the leagues, and you can create your own team, but that's the same exact thing as any other soccer video game.
Game-play-4/10
The game-play is good, but it is, yet again, the same exact thing as any other soccer video game. You are in a game against another team, and all you have to do is score a goal against them. The game-play would be average, but the game-play is nearly impossible to accomplish. The goalie blocks almost all your shots, and you eventually feel bored after playing this game for about a half hour.
Graphics-10/10
Here's that i'm talking about! The graphics is this game are just superb. All of the player's faces are different from each other, rather than the same faces, and you can see the different drops of rain distinctively. The signs are readable, the wind blows when it needs to, and you can easily see different heads in the crowd.
Control-2/10
This game has difficult controls, and even more difficult moves. You move around with the control stick, and you pass with the A button. The B button is a slide tackle OR a high kick. X is an extremely strong kick, which can be used to score a goal, and other buttons do several other handy tricks. The slide tackle is hard to aim, and all the helpful moves are so strange, I can't even remember which button does which move.
Sound-3/10
I'm a little iffy on the sound, but it isn't that bad. You can hear the crowd cheering the players on, and the announcer is able to be heard. However, you can hardly hear the ball being kicked around, and the slide tackling sound like a cat clawing at a couch. The sound isn't that bad, but it isn't that good, either.
Difficulty-4/10
The difficulty is difficult, but TOO difficult! The goalie is hard to get past, and everyone can just slide tackle each other to get the ball. The penalty kick has a 2 out of 3 chance to making it into the goal, and throw ins don't go the same length as they're supposed to. Difficulty is good, but too much, and the game just gets frustrating.
Re-playability-1/10
There is no replay value in this game whatsoever. You get bored of it after about an hour or so, and it's never seen again. You completely forget about it, and no longer want to play it anymore. The replay value plain stinks, and this game is just too boring to even remember.
Overall-3/10
I was pretty disappointed with this game. I was hoping for something new and spectacular, but that wasn't what I received. This game gets a below-average score, despite the fact that the graphics in this game are unusually good. It just had too many flaws, and was unable to get up to a decent 7. Hopefully, however, EA Sports will make a comeback, and regain it's spectacular reputation.
Rent Or Buy?
Although this game was really bad, I recommend a rent. This game has pretty good graphics, and are worth five dollars to see. Other than that, this game is a complete failure, and would not be worth a buy at all.
