"A lot of fun, for The Simpsons fan."
The Simpsons: Road Rage is a cartoon based game for the GameCube and other systems, it is very much like Crazy Taxi, except it is loaded with locations from The Simpsons show, with hundreds of characters from it too.
Gameplay - 10
This game is a lot like Crazy Taxi, you pick up customers, and take them to were they want to go, the faster you take them to there destination, the more money you get. There are also some special requests like if a customer is a religious person they usually request that you don’t crash into more than three cars along the way, if you do there request you will get a bonus money over what you already earned.
Story - 5
The story is kind of lame; the story is that Mr. Burns bought all of the city buses, and uses plutonium to fuel the buses, making them radioactive. So none of the public wants to ride them, causing the citizens to use there own cars as taxis, so they can buy back the buses.
Audio/Video - 7
The only thing that’s bad about the graphics is the cinematics, there seem like the textures could have been better on them. Other than that the in-game graphics have been cell-shaded so they look like they were right from the show. The audio is just music from the show, which doesn’t really start to get annoying, the character your driving will have some sayings that have actually been recorded by the real actors on the show, that are humorous, but do start to repeat over and over and over... gets kind of annoying hearing Homer say ''I hope you didn’t barf!'' almost every time he drops off passengers.
Replayability - 8
There is a decent amount of playability, due to the fact that there are six Huge parts of Springfield to race passengers around in. There is also a ''Mission Mode'' were you get to do certain tasks in a limited amount of time. There are many new characters with new cars to unlock also. There’s even a ''Sunday Drive'' mode were you can just explore levels with no time limit.
Buy/Rent - 9
This game mite not be as appealing to people who aren’t fans of the show, but if you are you should defiantly at least rent the game and give it a try. If you aren’t a fan of The Simpsons then you still mite give it a try for a fun time, or if you completely hate The Simpsons, then give Crazy Taxi a try if you like the idea of the game.
