"Kick azz game"
Is this the best Mortal Kombat to be out? Maybe. The story of this game is that Shang Tsung and Quan Chi rules together trying to take over the world. It is basically similar to the other Mortal Kombat games. This game provides a big kick in graphics, sound, and having more options. It is very fun similar to other fighting games but the one difference is that each person has its own finisher or a deadly fatality.
This game improves tremendously on its graphics prior to the other games. The characters provide realistic movement, fighting stances, and the backgrounds. Each character has their own movement are quite improved and having backgrounds interference. It is a great 3d game that provides a lot of blood. However the blood it spits onto the ground seems like part of the ground. If you step over it, it doesn't make footprints or anything. That is the major flaw. The character textures looks nice and that backgrounds are bright and clear.
Sound is mad awesome in this game. There are voice acting almost for everybody and the sounds it makes when someone attacks. The weapons have their unique sounds as they are made in real life. This game even provides a music video. No flaw definitely about the sound in this game.
Gameplay is way better than the other Mortal Kombat series. As usual you go through arcade mode and beat people up to the boss. In addition, this time the company added a konquest mode in which you pick each character to go through training. You earn currencies and buy different things with it. Gameplay in this fighting game is better than any other ones in my point of view.
Not bad for the gamecube controller. However the ps2 provides the best one. On the gamecube controller, you have to use the control pad. Too bad you can't use the analog stick. It would have make it easier because many people have big hands. Overall it is still useable. I recommend to buy a converter of a gamecube controller to a ps2 controller.
Overall this game is awesome. Nice graphics, sound, and gameplay. The only point is that the controls could have been better. But it is still a great game to own to all gamecube owners. My final score is:
