"This game is more random than that big-head Star Wars racing game...."

Ever wanted to know what the WWE would be like if it crossed with Twisted Metal? No? Too bad this is the game for ya! Yes, World Wrestling Entertainment has released a car battling game. How is it? Let's find out.

STORY
The ridiculous story goes like this. WWE Chairman Mr. Mcmahon has bought all of TV pretty much. He owns all the stations, all the networks, and every single TV show is his. One of these shows being WWE Crush Hour, in which WWE superstars get in vehicles strapped with guns, rockets, and all kinds of stuff to battle in arenas all over the world. That's the game in a nutshell.

GRAPHICS
The graphics are amazing...and by amazing I mean crap. Seriously everything is way too cartoony for it's own good. Maybe that's the direction the game makers wanted it to go in. Either way the cutscenes are horrible, the cars don't look all that great, and that's all I've got to say about that. Well actually the locations look good. Raw and Smackdown! as driving arenas are something special I must say.

SOUND
The audio is good yet bad at the same time. My biggest pet peeve with wrestling games is when they can't get the license to all of the songs. This game is the biggest example of made up songs everywhere. I mean the wrestler's themes of course. Some have the same songs they did in the show, others have made up ones because they couldn't pay for it or something. All of the wrestlers in the game lent their voices to the characters. That's cool. What isn't cool is how often they repeat the same quotes in the damn match. I must've heard Brock Lesnar's "I will find you!" quote a million times. So it's repetitive. Just a tad. Sounds okay though.

GAMEPLAY
But how does the game handle? Actually it's alright. The game is Twisted Metal Light, meaning it's nowhere near the quality of that game. But it handles well, there's no loading it seems, and it was genuinely fun to play. There are a ton of racers to choose from, maybe 20 or 30! That is a big number for a car battling game I must say. And each has it's own different handling and look to it. Stone Cold's got a monster truck, RVD's got an ATV, Big Show's got a big rig, and Chris Jericho's got a muscle car. Every vehicle in the game is interesting and unique.

The season mode is like fifteen levels long, so of course it's short. You're forced to keep beating season mode again and again to unlock new drivers, and that's the game in a nutshell. My big problem with the game is with how little there is to do. The game's fun and there are a nice selection of arenas and drivers. But that's it. It can get old really fast. I beat story mode once and then I just had no desire to beat it again. Which is a shame considering you need to if you wanna unlock the bonus characters. The game does have a lot of modes though. There's of course the normal deathmatch, capture the flag, and various others that will either be really fun or really awful.

You and a buddy can play multiplayer as well. But only one buddy. Don't expect any 4 player gameplay, or online functionality. All that being said it was actually fun to play, and I liked the change from the usual fighting formula. Let's just pray we don't see a WWE hockey game or something...

IN THE END...
If you love Twisted Metal and wrestling, I suggest you give this one a look. Everyone else....you're probably better off. I myself had a lot of fun, even if it did have no depth whatsoever. And that's the bottom line cause Clement said so.
