                    Mr. Sutton,

I think we can stop dancing around the words
'Agent Madison is dead.' Our only real question now
is why, or more importantly why Nikoladze thought
he could hide it from us.

Your theory about her disappearance as a way to
keep secret the connections between Georgian
politics and the Russian Mafia works, but it's too
easy. It wouldn't justify murdering a U.S. agent.
And Nikoladze knows we know how dirty he is.

I think I'm being followed, though it's hard to
seperate paranoia from reason in this part of the
world. I suggest we start swapping digital
signatures more often, maybe twice a week.

Forward Gurgenidze this keypadcode for the back

morons like the concierge at this dump you guys

                    face again

I need to get back out to the rig and back to my

                    Sergeant,

While I appreciate your newfound zeal in securing
the station. I wonder at the need for a surveillance
camera in the morgue. In my near forty years as a
medical examiner, I have never once seen a
                    Cadaver commit a crime.

I am certain that there are other places in this very
building where security cameras might do a much
better job of spotting criminals. I am not speaking
                    of the holding cells either.

Why, just last week I tagged some poor soul whose
skull had been caved in by an object distinctly
similiar to the batons issued to our officers. Had
there been security cameras in the research lab
instead of the morgue itself, we might have caught
the party responsible for destroying the evidence
                    in that case.

                    make some extremely inflammatory statements.
He's getting the people riled up. Get ready for some
big news in the next couple of weeks.

I just returned from the hospital, where about two
and three-quarters men remain in critical condition.
The beat cop taking statements from the doctors
                    had a picture-perfect description of the men's

The solution to not tripping the laser grid is staying
out of the damn courtyard. Period. But, just for the
sake of argument, I guess the correctly calibrated

                    Gentlemen,

I impress on you the importance of our guests, the

Since Grinko has come under President Nikoladze's
official employment, his many crimes in Georgia
have been pardoned, and he is to be treated with

I likewise ask for your patience with Mr. Masse

They are both key figures in the President's

                    Pavel,

Let all your men know that the laser grid in the
courtyard is active. I don't want any false alarms
caused by this grid, it triggers simultaneous alarms
at five seperate police and military stations
nearby. Explaining a false alarm is a headache
                    niether of us need.

If you absolutely need to go in the courtyard, you
can disable the grid from the security terminal in
the Main Hall of the South Wing but you better
                    have a good reason.

I cannot believe, considering your position relative
to both Nikoladze and the CIA, that you have no
knowledge of anything called the Ark. You don't
want to know what it would take to convince me of
your honesty. We are playing a dangerous game of
chess, and cannot afford to have gray pieces on
the board. I have a sneaking suspicion that this 'Ark'
is our queen piece. Nikoladze will tell me about it
sooner or later; God help you if he tells me you
knew about it and didn't inform me. I need to know

protect him from even his own ambitions.

I laud you both for how efficiently you have
uncovered and solved our CIA situation. This
incident is a great cause for concern; I hate to
think what the outcome could have been had we not
had our 'little birdie' in Langley.

I am convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that we
must move our Azeri operation forward. The
disappearance of the two American agents will
certainly raise some eyebrows. We must begin
before coming under the attention of our
neighbors. Our potential oil relationship with the
Americans will keep them from interfering, but only
if the scale is already too far tilted in our favor.

Both of you should begin preliminary steps towards
our initial countermeasures in case the Americans
discover us. Let us keep our glass dagger sharp.

We'll meet this saturday (the 16th) in my office at
dawn. Make it 4:30, Masse, I'll arrange for a

You can be certain that our glass dagger will
shatter as intended if attacked. Our army, broken
into smaller units, will only become sharper and
further scattered. My contacts have scouted and
secured areas of operation for our splintered army
to occupy. We will have a free hand in much of
Northern Russia, the orient, and possibly even the
                    United States.

However, I do not believe that it will come to this.
Our plans are too well laid, and our enemies asleep

on Masse and his technology. I have trouble

today. I'll be right outside your window, let me
know if I'm bugging you. The default code will be
7687, but you should change it on 8 hour shifts
until they cut down the level of alert

If we get any days off this week (right) we should
do something. God knows I'm gonna need a drink
                    after all this.

                    Agent Tauger,

The turret was retrieved on a westbound road
leading out of T'Bilisi two days ago, the identity of
the drivers is still to be determined.

Apparently you were right, the turret is sensitive
to both heat and motion. We're having trouble
identifying the software, but there is definitely a
very effective IFF recognition system at work in
this thing. Anyone not preprogrammed as a friendly
will be fired upon if in range. Disabling the IFF
system simply makes it fire on anyone...friendly or
not. A week ago I wouldn't have believed anything
this advanced would exist anywhere close to that
region. A dangerous time to be underestimating our

We got this ten minutes ago from a clerk at one of
the ISPs subcontracting from Kalinatek before we
bought them out. We don't think we need to worry

business bureau. What should we do? We're going
to need more resources if we're expected to keep

                    Ruslan,

Pavel says he briefed you on the wall mines. But I
want to make sure you understand. They are
EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. Do not think that they are a
                    toy.

The mines detect motion by emitting an infrared
pulse every half second. If you move too quickly
during that pulse, YOU'RE DEAD, RUSLAN.

When you place the mine on a wall, it will
self-activate. It will beep rapidly for one second
and then emit a solid tone for a second more. After
that, it's LIVE and DANGEROUS. So set the mine and
                    move back quickly.

If you need to move a mine, APPROACH IT SLOWLY.
And only try to grab it when the GREEN LIGHT IS ON.
This is important, GRAB THE MINE WHEN THE GREEN
                    LIGHT IS ON.

You will know you screwed up if the light starts
blinking faster. When that happens, RUN AWAY AS
                    FAST AS YOU CAN.

Be careful Ruslan, I worry about you.

                    Mr. Masse,

Just wanted to draw your attention to some of the
files in the latest FTP'd stuff from Dougherty's PC.
Those 'TSA' files stand for Transportation Federal
Security Administration, we think they're CIA
confirmations of digital access keys for federal air
traffic servers. Is that useful? Just wanted to
                    make sure you saw it.

We would be much safer monitoring bundled files,
intermittently transmitted, rather than this steady
tapping of the data stream. I've stated these

I've gone very carefully through all the files we
pulled from Dougherty's machine and can find no
mention of this 'Ark.' Your message suggested it
would be high on the CIA's list of threats to
national security, but this does not appear to be
                    the case.

We will keep monitoring Dougherty's PC and hope
for the best. I feel strongly that we should not
attempt to insert another 'peep hole' into Langley's
data stream. I do not think we will be presented

We've reached an agreement with the local police,
so you won't be bothered by their presence

maintaining our close working relationships with the
Myanmar police force, and you will all be expected
to enforce the city-wide curfew along with our own

since Tianjin. The Colonel told me it used to cater to
the dignitaries and ambassadors in the embassy.

                    Sir,

I made some inquiries and Nikoladze's losses seem
to be just as severe as we've feared. The Georgian
information offensive was not nearly as
decentralized as they claimed. It appears that the
second most important of the hydra's heads has
been severed. There are even rumors that Philip
Masse has been killed. Apparently a troop of
American commandos (the estimation runs between
10 and 80) played hell with the Georgian's men on
the Kola Peninsula. In my opinion, the Georgian
                    Information Crisis is over.

Which is not all to say that Kombayn Nikoladze is
any less dangerous a man. If he is able to use the
Ark as he intends, the game could still be his.
Between the Ark and our own initiatives, I have
every confidence that we will shake the globe.

I spilled a jar of their fish sauce on my pants and it
looked like I had shamed myself. Not only that, but
it turns out that the smell drove the dogs on my
patrol crazy. Three of them ran at me and I thought
they would tear me apart. I had to jump in one of

things I will not soon forget.)

I was wondering, sir, if we could 'borrow' one of
General Feirong's troops for the duration of our
stay here, to watch over the ambassadors and
translate for us if needed. Thank you.

If your men need to beat the Americans, they must
confine themselves to body blows. We are less
than twenty-four hours from their appearance on
world media, and they need to be pretty for the
cameras. Their deaths will be viewed and re-viewed
for decades to come; it must not be seen at all as
an end to their suffering. Bloodied and bruised
faces do not very well show fear. Let nobody
mistake what we do for pity. Further damage to the
Americans' faces will not be tolerated.

Nikoladze's Cabinet, representing the district of
                Marneulis.

                12/09/01 - PRESENT
Cristavi sells information regarding Nikoladze's oil
policies to CIA Agent Tanahill. Information drops
continue irregularly, at a frequency of two-to-ten
                weeks.

                20/10/04
After two days of near-anarchy in the Georgian
government, Cristavi assumes power, promising to
                hold elections within a month.

                    Lado,

We're keeping this quiet, so be careful with this
information. Yes, Cristavi has arranged to allow
Nikoladze into the Presidential Palace. It will happen
tonight shortly after midnight. Nikoladze is giving
Cristavi a sizeable sum of money, along with some
near-priceless oil drilling data from the Caspian, in
exchange for Cristavi letting Nikoladze retrieve
'the Ark' from the palace unmolested.

Nikoladze claimed that the Ark is a 'dirty bomb,' but
Cristavi has learned different. I'm betting he won't
let Nikoladze walk out of the palace with the Ark in
hand. Hard to say. My advice: keep your head low
                    around midnight tonight.

                    Some notes:
-Nikoladze will be on Georgian soil, possibly within
                    T'Bilisi between November 17th and 18th.
-Nikoladze is funding his escape with heroin money
earned through certain corrupt precincts of the
T'Bilisi police force, especially nos. 4 and 12.
-No intelligence available on this 'Ark' you speak of.
Cristavi feels, and I agree, that the Ark is a rumor.

Please know that we appreciate our relationship
