"Not the best version, but still a good game to buy"
As many people already know or heard, Splinter Cell was named one of the best games for the Xbox. Based on writer Tom Clancy's work, splinter cell is mostly a game about stealth and missions. What makes Splinter Cell so unique is that it's one of the first games to completely revolve around stealth all the time. Although games like Metal Gear Solid revolve around stealth, Metal Gear revolves around Stealth/Combat. Splinter Cell is pretty much stealth. Compared to the other versions of SC, this is the worst of the 3 (Xbox and PC being first and PS2 version being second). It may be a dream for sole Gamecube owners, but it may be better if you get it for the Xbox or PS2. The question is, how does it stand out against other versions?
Graphics-6/10: Not too good. Compared to the Xbox version, it looks very jaggy in some areas and somewhat trashy looking. The light is still now and looks very fake, though the upside is that the Night vision mode looks quite good. If you want to buy splinter cell based on graphics, buy the Xbox or PC version
Sound and Music-10/10: Very well done. The voice actors do a good job of making the characters sound real in the right situations. Very clear and crisp. The msuic is quite good as well, usually reflecting the area you are in and country.
Control-8/10: Somewhat confusing, but you will soon get the hang of it. I dare say that the camera and the D-pad are the reasons the control is so bad, otherwise, it is very responsive and accurate
Buy or rent? Depending on what consoles you have, you may want to do one of these. If you have a Xbox and gamecube, get the Xbox version. If you have a PS2 and gamecube, get the PS2 version. If you have all 3, get the Xbox version. The gamecube version is only worth buying if that is the only console you have. Although you may want to rent it first and see if you realy like the game or not.
Final: 7/10: The game itself is great and worth a rental, but if you want to get a better version of the game, get the Xbox version. You may find it worth a rental and see if it is the version you would like.
Sound and Music: 10/10
Buy or Rent: Rent
