"It took them THIS long to make Pac-man multiplayer?"

Before I go on, you're probably here because you noticed that 3. I do this for two reasons: the first is to grab your attention and the second is that the way my ratings work is simple -

a 1 means I do not like it
a 2 means I thought it was average
a 3 means I recommend buying it

Anyway, let's move on...

These graphics use few polygons and have simple designs. Well, it's a free game right?

Audio wise... Well, get used to the wakka wakka of the pellets and the satisfying sound of eating a ghost. Mario occasional says things like "Pac-cuh-man ate da power pellet!", which doesn't affect me at all. Just letting you know, so you won't get a heart attack.

Presentation 1/3

Plot? Pac-man being chased by ghosts while eating corn pops? It doesn't exist, so I can't mark it down for it.

Story N/A

For the people that haven't played Pac-man before, let me tell you that Pac-man was originally Puc-man, but they figured some wise guys might replace the P with a F, so anyway...

Well, the Pac-man runs around the area eating yellow dots. The ghosts chase after him and kill him if the Pac-man touches them. However, if the Pac-man eats a power pellet (a big dot), he can get revenge and eat ghosts for a limited amount of time. The game is over when the Pac-man dies or eats all the pellets.

That was Pac-man for the old.

Before going further, you NEED a GBA.

This Pac-man plays like that except the ghosts use the TV and their ghost and a small splitscreen area of the map. The ghost that kills the Pac-man trades places with him.

The Pac-man simply plays the game on the GBA and he can see the whole map, including the ghosts.

There is some strategy to the game. When ghosts eat fruit, they can see more of the map as the camera zooms out on them. When Pac-man eats a big dot, the ghosts can hide in their starting box to avoid being eaten.

Gameplay 2/3

My complaints are a few. The graphics are low-grade, but that doesn't bother me. The game suffers from arcade-itis, which means it is simple, lacks depth and a new round always starts the same. Finally, it isn't as fun with two or three players. You really need four for this game.

Overall, I liked this game because it's a free addition to a decent game Pac-man World 2. The gameplay is simple enough for moms or dads to play, while it demands teamwork and communication. Again, you will need ONE gameboy advance, ONE cable to connect it to the cube and hopefully four players.

If you are expecting a deep, rewarding multiplayer game, you'll only be disappointed. This is a game that's best played with a non-competitive manner and is fun even with non-gaming friends. It's on the opposite end of the spectrum from hardcore games like Street Fighter.
