Ayrton Senna's Super Monaco GP II
Review by Captain Doormat
"In memory of Ayrton Senna"
Sadly, Ayrton Senna is no longer with us. Does this game give him a good reputation
Note: I don't care how bad this game is, I'm keeping this game in memory of Ayrton Senna.
The crew has checked every part of your machine. softer grip tyres for extra hold on the course. The S-foil set at 0 degrees. You're going to need every bit of speed you can get on the track today. After all, this is no trial run. You are in the Monaco Grand Prix, racing against the best in the world!
You are in the cockpit of a masterpiece of technology. Flash past your competitors at breathtaking speeds in this thrilling F-1 race that pits your speed and dexterity against the most challenging tracks on Earth!
The menu screens are slightly confusing, you have to navigate the options menu to change game options. It would have been easier to included this screen when you start the game. The menus have large pictures are Ayrton, and bold orange text that isn't hard to see.
A practice mode lets you test out the tracks, and your car. A nice touch is a tip, supposedly from Ayrton himself, that helps your prepare and race on the selected track. If you are a die hard racing fan, this game lets you tinker with your cars for the performance that you need on each individual track. Stabilty or speed?
Before you start racing for real, you have to qualify. The actual race can be quite competitive and hard. You must have your car perfect if you wish to win.
Passwords are given for you to continue from where you left off.
Racing can be fun, but can also be dull and tedious. It passes the time quote''On rainy days and on car journeys'', or is very fun for die hard racing fans. Give it a try if you need some racing fun on the move.
The graphics are smooth and bright, and are fast. The cars and everything look as they should. The menus are easy to navigate, and the text is easy enough to read. Everything is understandable. The cars are easy to customize.
The sounds are the usual racing game affair. The engines are as they are ment to be, and there are adequate crashing and grinding noises. The menu screen music is just plain AWFUL!!
Overall:6/10
Not enough for casual gamers, but for those who love racing, it will be instant fun.
