Version History

V.3.3 (9/08/06): Was bored, proof-read the file and corrected various typos.
Also re-worded some passages or sentences.

V.3.2 (8/01/05): When I thought V.3.0 was the final update needed for a very
long time, I was wrong. Included in this latest update is a special little
Level 99 comparison by class chart. Good for those number freaks like myself
that like to compare just for fun and reference. Corrected a few lines.

V.3.0 (7/29/05): ENORMOUS UPDATE; includes a list of EXP earned from ALL the
enemies in the game and the EXP chart now has a fourth and final column
displaying the total EXP for each level.

V.2.0 (7/27/05): Revision of the guide to include more than just an experience
chart.

V.1.3 (7/21/05): Added a third column to the EXP list that shows you how much
more EXP you will need over the last level.

V.1.0 (7/20/05): Initial creation.

!Content Notice!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This guide is focused on extra info for Castlevania: Circle of the Moon. No
walk-through related information can be found here or any detail on DSS cards
including comboes/effects/locations or enemy/boss stats or even any item data.

What you will find:

- A fully detailed EXP chart that measures three different dimensions of levels
1-99 (to NEXT level, TOTAL EXP and how much MORE EXP needed compared
to the last level).
- Monster list for EXP only, listed from least to greatest.
- A small but comprehensive run down of all five play modes.
- Short but simple list of the total amount of HP/MP/HEART max ups. *Locations
are NOT listed.*
**All the compiled info was all collected by me through extensive game play.**

With that being said, I hope you find this stuff useful and fun to read. Please
enjoy!

EXP Chart
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This list is pratically hand made. I played the game again while very carefully
watching the exp levels and using very crucial math skills to get the exact
numbers down. I used no programs other than calculator and mostly my own
math. Theses numbers are VERY CLOSE to 100% accurate. If anything, the error
percent lies within my having recorded the data slightly incorrect. Its very
small so you can put your faith in these numbers, I assure you.

Now how to read this chart:

- First column is the LEVEL's column. Displays the level ranging from 1-99.

- Second column is the NEXT column. Tells you how much EXP is required to reach
the next level.

- The third column is what I made up and named it the MORE column. This one
shows you how much MORE EXP you need compared to the last level. For example:
on level 1, you need 189 EXP. On level 2, you need 213 which is 24 MORE EXP
compared to level 1.

- The fourth column simply displays the total EXP you will have on whatever
level you are looking at.

End of charting.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The word:

I hope anyone looking to get level 99 is not discouraged by the grand total of
EXP. Its really easy, all it takes is time. On average, anybody should be able
to reach level to 99 within 20HRs of play easily. Depending on what kind of
mode you are going to 99 with will determine how long it will take. A Fighter
can breeze through the Battle Arena as so can a VampireKiller when he reaches
a decent level. One run through the Battle Arena easily hauls you 291582EXP. Or
if you want to play it safe, killing Liliths in the Underground Warehouse is
20000 a kill which can be done fast with the Thunderbird summon. However it is
so boring and repetitve.

***If you liked this chart, I WAS working on an EXP list just like this for
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. Can't say when or if it will ever be done as I am
very good at procastinating. I don't know exactly why, but I lost motivation
shortly after beginning it. Tell you what, and I promise to it too, if at
least ONE reader sends me an email of request to start working on the chart
again, I'll see through to it. Its a promise so hold me to it!***

Enemy EXP list
===============================================================================

While I already knew that there is a fully detailed Bestiary for this game made
by Admodieus, I went on ahead and ran the game yet again to get the numbers
myself. I bothered to make this list for two reasons: one to be consistent and
second because I felt I could make it much more EXP comprehensive. I am also
very confident that ALL of these numbers are 100% accurate, prove me wrong and
I'll slap your name into the credits.

This list is listed not in alphabetical order or by which where you will find
the enemy but rather in mathmatical order of least to greatest. Anyway, here
are the 115 (Dracula's second form excluded from the list) enemies in the game:

NOTES:

- Dracula's second form is what I consider the 115th enemy but obviously awards
no EXP.
- The Devil and White Armors are Battle Arena exclusive enemies hence are the
only Battle Arena enemy EXP values recorded in the list.

Mode Information
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This section is dedicated to the new comers of this game or maybe you want to
read up on it anyway, mister Veteran? Anyhow, Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
deploys replay value in a unique never before seen style in the series. It may
sound quite lame at first but take my word for it, its quite delightful!

Replay is presented in the fashion of unlocking a new game mode after beating
the game. Basically, you play the game through as the default VampireKiller
who has the best rounded stats. After seeing the ending for the first time and
letting the credits roll by, the game congratulates you for clearing the game
and unlocks a new mode for you, in this case, the Magician mode. To play as a
Magician, type in "FIREBALL" at the name entry screen during file select.

With a new mode available to you, you can play the game again in a different
way. This is where it appeals lame but is quite the opposite: you will still
play as Nathan and the story will NOT in any way change or be affected by what
kind of mode you play as. At the end of Magician mode, you unlock yet another
mode, Fighter this time.

It goes on like this for another two modes, but believe me that the game play
is pretty cool with each new game. Of course you do not have to play this game
five times in a row but its always nice to play it once in awhile. I myself
played all five modes one after the other because it was that damn good.

Heres a rundown of all five play modes:
______________
VampireKiller:\________________________________________________________________

The default play mode. Enjoy the story during your first play through. Master
the controls and learn the mechanics of basic game play. Well rounded so at
high levels can utterly destroy enemies with your Whip or DSS comboes. Can
handles the Battle Arena fairly well according to your own skill and character
level. My personal favorite.

Level 1 and level up bonuses:

STR 100+10       HP 100+10
DEF 100+10       MP 100+10
INT 100+10       HEART 50+2
LCK 100+10
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

_________
Magician:\_____________________________________________________________________

Your second game mode right after VampireKiller, enter "FIREBALL" at start
screen. As a Magician you start out with ALL of the DSS cards and A LOT of
INT/MP to use them. Of course as it would only make sense, your physical
attributes are low. Any good Mage can compensate braun with their brains! The
Magician mode is unmistakebly powerful when played right. My advice to you is
to learn the best DSS comboes and use them accordingly. The Battle Arena is a
nightmare for this mode. Carry a huge abundance of recovery items and be ready
to throw a million Crosses. The DSS Battle Arena trick can't save you all the
time.

Level 1 and level up bonuses:

STR  71+7        HP  50+5
DEF  50+5        MP 400+40
INT 400+40       HEART 50+2
LCK 100+10
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

________
Fighter:\______________________________________________________________________

Third game is always a charm. Awarded to the player that clears Magician mode;
enter "GRADIUS" for this one. Fighter mode rocks. It has to be the easiest of
all. There is a catch, however. NO DSS cards AT ALL. Well who needs em when
you're running around killing things in 1-3 hits anyway??? This mode just tears
through the game and of course, the Battle Arena. Quite Fighter friendly!

Level 1 and level up bonuses:

STR 141+14       HP 200+20
DEF 200+20       MP  50+5
INT  50+5        HEART 50+2
LCK 100+10
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

________
Shooter:\______________________________________________________________________

Game four, through Fighter mode that is. Like that was hard. "CROSSBOW" is the
magic word. What can I say about Shooter other than you throw things? I don't
fancy this one too much. As a Shooter, you have weak strength/defense/HP and
your INT/LCK is on par with the VampireKiller. DSS is allowed too. Your ability
lies in the sub weapons. You start out with a lot of Hearts and you gain a lot
of Hearts. Your sub weapon damage is increased greatly and cost is reduced so
its a two for one deal. The Battle Arena is strict on a Shooter too. Its all
about the items in stock and throwing Crosses like mad.

Level 1 and level up bonuses:

STR  71+7        HP  50+5
DEF  50+5        MP 100+10
INT 100+10       HEART 250+5
LCK 100+10
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

______
Thief:\________________________________________________________________________

Final game mode and it is one to really enjoy. The Shooter leaves the word
"DAGGER" after the credits. The Thief is weak as hell in all aspects excluding
LCK. This is your only strength. You have to use your insane LCK to find rare
and strong items to make it through the game alive. You can stack 99 of
anything with this file in just minutes. Apply what I just wrote for getting
through the Battle Arena alive. Oh and don't forget about the Crosses.

Level 1 and level up bonuses:

STR  71+7        HP  50+5
DEF  50+5        MP  50+5
INT 100+10       HEART 50+2
LCK1600+160
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And for those curious or just wanting to know for fun, heres a Level 99
comparison chart of all five modes. Please note that HP/MP/HEART values that
are listed are the values of having grabbed every last max up
container.

______________________________________________________
LEGEND: VK= VampireKiller MG= Magician FI= Fighter   /
        SH= Shooter TH= Thief                       /
___________________________________________________/

 ___________________________________
/ Lv99| VK || MG || FI || SH || TH |
|-----------------------------------
|STR  |1080|| 757||1513|| 757|| 757|
|DEF  |1080|| 540||2160|| 540|| 540|
|INT  |1080||4320|| 540||1080||1080|
|LCK  |1080||1080||1080||1080||9999|
|-----------------------------------
|HP   |1510|| 970||2590|| 970|| 970|
|MP   |1440||4680|| 900||1440|| 900|
|HEART| 462|| 462|| 462|| 956|| 462|
|-----------------------------------

Truth is I only have a Lv99 Fighter and VampireKiller, but with the proper
math, anybody can calculate what any level would like by starting from 1 and
multiplying the number of levels they want to assume by stat increase and then
add it to the base value of level 1. Like what I did here:

Level 1 stat + 98 multiplyed by level up increase.
In numbers: 100+(98x10)=1080
                  980

And you woulds simply add 430 to HP, 360 to MP and 216 to HEART at the end.
This rule applies to all modes, its the quantity of all the max up items times
the amount they increase that stat by.

All in all, the data in the chart should very well be 100%. If there is
somehow an error, then that has to be a typo or miscalculation. I am 100% the
formulas I used to create this chart are correct.

And that wraps up all of the mode listings.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Theres one more important thing to know about: the total quantity of
HP/MP/HEART max ups:

43 HP max ups (+430 HP in all)
36 MP max ups (+360 MP in all)
36 HEART max ups (+216 HEART in all)

This concludes all of the content presented in this guide.

Credibility
===============================================================================

Before I even list the credits; if you can spot any MAJOR error, like incorrect
data such as an EXP amount a monster gives or maybe I forgot to list one, email
me at the said address and I will look into the data to see if its true and
make corrections. ONLY if your correction holds true will I praise your name.
As for contributions; I am not particularly looking for anything, but if you
find something or know something that should very well be in this FAQ, email
me. Your name will be accredited.

Thanks goes out to:

- Konami for making this great title at the launch of the GBA (why I got one).

- Nintendo for always making the great handheld platforms.

- http://www.gamefaqs.com for being a (the best IMHO) great video game website
  and the moderators for keeping it so very clean.

- You, the reader of course, for making this FAQ ever useful. Whats a guide
  without readers?

- Myself, I put well over 50HRs of time into this guide. Not how long it took
  to type it out of course.
