Welcome to the Sonic Advance Boss FAQ. Here I will provide information
on the bosses, and strategies on how to defeat them with each character.

IV. The Bosses
=======================================================================
a) Neo Green Hill Zone Boss
   Difficulty: Very Easy For Sonic, Easy for Tails, and Knuckles, 
   Medium for Amy
   Hits:6 hits (Easy Mode) 8 hits (Normal Mode)
   Eggman is in a mallet machine. He swings his mallet back and forth
   and by common sense you have to dodge it. Wait until the mallet is
   back so you can attack. After a few hits Eggman will use the mallet
   as a catapult so watch out. As with all bosses you should have at
   least 1 ring. 
b) Secret Base Zone Boss
   Difficulty: Easy for Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, Medium for Amy
   Hits:6 hits (Easy Mode) 8 hits (Normal Mode)
   Eggmans bouncing machine from Sonic Chaos makes a return. Here all
   you have to do is move out of the way when he bounces and just keep
   hitting him on the head. A few hits later he will jump very high and
   try to squash you. You have to jump out of the way very fast, but if
   he lands on you, you just lose your rings. 
c) Casino Paradise Zone Boss
   Difficulty: Medium for Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, Hard for Amy
   Hits:6 hits (Easy Mode) 8 hits (Normal Mode)
   Eggman goes through 8 pipes to try to confuse you. This boss is not
   really hard, it's just frustrating because you never know where 
   Eggman is going to be next. You should also watch out for a spiked 
   ball that moves through the pipes like Eggman. Just keep hitting
   Eggman as soon as you see him and avoid the spiked ball. 
d) Ice Mountain Zone Boss
   Difficulty: Hard for Sonic, and Knuckles, Easy for Tails, Medium for 
   Amy
   Hits:6 hits (Easy Mode) 8 hits (Normal Mode)
   Eggman is in a drill mecha. You are underwater and Eggman drills big
   icicles which you must jump on to reach Eggman, and to get air.
   This is a pretty hard boss if you dont know any jumping techniques.
   This boss is hard for Sonic and Knuckles because they cannot
   jump high to reach the air. Boss is medium for Amy because her high jump
   can reach the air if you're out of air. Boss is easy for Tails
   because he can just fly to get air, but he'll need to jump to hit Eggman.
e) Angel Island Zone Boss
   Difficulty: Medium-Hard for All
   Hits: 8 hits (All Modes)
   Mecha Knuckles is your opponent this time. At first he is wearing a red
   suit. It is better to hurt him with your special attacks. Dont go near
   him when he is gliding or spindashing. After four hits his suit will fall
   off and he is in bare metal. Now he gets harder. This time he will shoot
   four consecutive homing missiles at you. Just jump to avoid them. He can
   block your attacks but if you constantly do them he will get hit. It is
   better if you attack him when his back is turned.
f) Egg Rocket/Cosmic Angel Zone Boss
   Difficulty: Medium-Hard For Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, Hard for Amy
   Hits:6 hits (Easy Mode) 8 hits (Normal Mode)
   Eggman is in a tubular thingy with spikes. The tube is on a sort of rope
   with metal orbs. At first his spikes will be up and he will move around.
   You have to get a little close to him and jump on a metal orb. If done
   correctly the tubes weak side will appear and thats where you attack.
   Later in the battle he will shoot electric balls that you have to avoid.
   After a few hits he will move very fast so just jump over him as fast as
   you can. 
g) X-Zone Boss 1
   Difficulty: Easy for All
   Hits:4 hits (All modes)
   The swinging ball boss from Sonic 1 makes a cameo appereance as the first
   boss in X-Zone. He is very easy. Just jump to avoid the ball and just jump
   to hit him. 
h) X-Zone Boss 2
   Difficulty: Easy for All
   Hits:4 hits (All modes)
   Another cameo appereance. This time its with the first boss of Sonic 2.
   He is easy also. Just jump to hit him and avoid his spike when it comes 
   out after the 3rd hit. 
i) X-Zone Boss 3
   Difficulty: Hard for All
   Hits:6 hits (Easy Mode) 8 hits (Normal Mode)
   Eggman with some sort of utility belt. His attacks include throwing a bomb,
   flashing a beam, a robotic hand, and he will try to run you over. When he
   throws the bomb jump over it when he just throws it and hit his head. For
   the beam, either duck or jump and possibly try to hit him or get him next time.
   For the robotic hand just jump over it and when it is extended move out of the
   way. When he tries to ram you just jump and hit him. If you
   dont have all the emeralds than this is your last boss. But if you have all the
   emeralds...
j) The Moon Zone Boss
   Difficulty: Hard
   Hits:6 hits (Easy Mode) 8 hits (Normal Mode)
   This is the final battle with Eggman. This is a hard boss. You face the
   boss with Super Sonic. Eggman will be in a large robot. He will try to block
   himself with his hands, capsules that can trap you, and a laser. That pattern
   will always repeat. To hit eggman you have to jump and than dash into his head
   when he's unblocked. You have to do this constantly and fast so you dont run
   out of rings. If you need a few extra rings dash onto a capsule and break it
   for rings, just dont get trapped. Once you beat this boss you have completely
   beaten the game.
