1. Introduction
-------------
Hi, my name is Michael and I have put all of what I know about Legolas in this
guide. A lot of this is opinion because it is what I think will help your
Legolas get through the game the best way. This guide and walkthrough works
best in Microsoft Word or Works.
_____________________________________________________________________
2. Types of Legolas
----------------------
The skills are in the order of importance.
----------------------
Passive Skill Legolas
Active Skill Legolas
Stun Legolas

PASSIVE SKILL LEGOLAS
This kind of Legolas uses his passive skills mostly. You would normally put a
couple of points on one or two active skills though.

Primary Skills:
Accuracy: Put about 3 out of every 5 points you get into this.

Defense: Put a lot in this, but definitely not as much as accuracy.

Strength: Every 4 points adds damage, but don't put too much in it.

Health: Every once in a while put an extra point in here.

Courage: You barely need any.

Passive Skills:
Hawkeye: Put 20. This is a very good skill. Gives you +20 damage in all

Meditation: Put about 5 in the beginning and then put some more in later so you
can deal out more damage first.

Critical Shot: Put about 10.

Fleet a Foot: Only put a couple in the beginning, save points for the more
important stuff.

Orcslayer: Don't put any until you max out a few of the others.

Active Skills:
Overdraw: Just put about three points in here in the beginning. Later on you
can put a few more in it.

ACTIVE SKILL LEGOLAS
This Legolas focuses mostly on his Active Skills rather than passive skills.

Primary Skills:
Accuracy: Put a lot of points in this one.

Defense: So you don't get hit that often.

Courage: Put about as much as defense in here if you're going to be this type
of Legolas.

Health: Gives you a lot of health.

Strength: Put one in this every so often because overdraw will take care of
most of the damage.

Passive Skills:
Meditation: Put about 5-10, depending on how impatient you are.

Fleet a Foot: Put about 5.

Hawkeye: Put some in here once you have a lot of points in other things.

Active Skills:
Overdraw: Definitely put a lot in this.

Spread Fire: This is definitely next because of the many arrows.

Summon Gimli: You don't get any experience from him, but if you're in need, you
know who to call.

Forest Friends: Stuns your enemies.

Suppress: Hopefully your enemies will stay away while Gimli kills them all.

White Knives: Who would want a close up attack with your long-range bow? Put
one point in it to unlock Forest Friends and Summon Gimli.

STUN LEGOLAS
This Legolas uses Forest Friends to stun his enemies and then uses his regular
attack to kill them.

Primary Skills
Defense: So you can not get hit a lot while waiting for the birds.

Courage: So you don't run out of skill points.

Accuracy: It's not first because you have more tries and a longer amount of
time to hit them.

Strength: Put a couple in here because you don't want to spend too much time
killing one enemy.

Health: You don't need too much in this one.

Active Skills:

Forest Friends: Max it out.

Overdraw: Put a few on it for when you're inside and you can't use forest
friends.

Passive Skills:

Hawkeye: So you can kill them faster.

Meditation: So you can heal fast enough before they come and get you. Put about
10 in this one.

3. Passive Skills
--------------
In order, this is what I think is the priorities of your passive skills.
--------------

Hawkeye-To add bow damage and overall brute strength

Meditation-So you don't have to wait forever to heal

Critical Shot-This isn't as important as Hawkeye because if your Hawkeye is
high enough, you won't even need it

Fleet a Foot-To get out of those painful situations (and to get all the items
before your friend does in multiplayer)

Orcslayer-Oh, man, this is definitely last. Orcs, not Uruk-Hai are so easy to
kill, and this only applies to orcs. If it were Uruk-Hai also, this wouldn't be
such a low-priority skill
--------------
My Passive Skills:
Hawkeye-20
Fleet a Foot-20
Meditation-20
Orcslayer-20
Critical Shot-20

4. Active Skills
-------------
In order, this is what I think is the priorities of your active skills.
-------------
Overdraw-This can kill many orcs at a time and deals maximum bow damage. This
is the only really important one.

Summon Gimli-You may not get any experience for his kills, but if you make this
over 12, he stays for about a minute and a half and kills a lot of orcs for you.

Spread Fire-Can hit many at a time but takes a lot of spirit points for not
that good of a skill. If you max it out (20 skill points on it), it is really
good.

Forest Friends-These last three aren't the best, but if you put enough points
in them, they're okay. Good for the harder enemies.

Suppress-Can keep enemies away from you, well, there's a chance.

White Knives-I don't know why anyone would put points on this unless they have
to, I mean, you already have a ranged attack.
--------------
My Active Skills:
Overdraw-20
Summon Gimli-20
Spread Fire-20
Suppress-3
White Knives-3
Forest Friend-7

5. Primary Skills
--------------
In order, this is what I think is the priorities of you primary skills.
--------------
Accuracy-Duh! You're shooting arrows! You don't want to miss!

Defense-To make sure not all those hits that you take actually are taken.

Strength-Adds to your bow damage and adds little amounts of hit points.

Courage-You still need to have some spirit points.

Health-Your defense and your strength will mostly take care of your health.
(Switch the last 2 if you want to max out your passive skills first, which is
what I suggest. Only put about 5 on Overdraw as your only Active Skill.)
---------------
My Primary Skills:
Accuracy-118
Strength-100
Defense-85
Courage-68
Health-70

6. Hints and Tips
---------------
KILL THE BALROG:
When facing the Balrog as Gandalf, there is a corner in the very top left hand
side that he cannot touch you. Continue to use Fireworks or another long-range
move.
Source: Zephyrmaster@yahoo.com

KILL THE FANGHORN TROLL:
You must have at least one ranged attack, or be Legolas. Go straight to the top
right hand side of the screen. There is a spot that has a small entrance but a
big inside. Stay directly opposite of the entrance and wait until the small
troll gets to you. Kill him with any attacks but don't change you position.
When the big troll gets there, he will walk and try to get in but will not if
you are right across from the entrance to the opening. If you are on the side,
he can get in. So stay in the middle and just shoot him. As soon as he starts
to falls, get very close to him and away from the wall or else you will go
directly to Fanghorn Rise without getting the items.
Source: Self.

GAME SAVE OVER
If you have ever saved over a game, then you know how aggravating it is to lose
it. I had a level 31 Legolas (the one that will stay posted until my current
level 21 legolas gets better) and saved over it with a level 12 Aragorn
(stupid! stupid! stupid!). I got so mad that I erased my Aragorn on the spot.
Well, a trick I use now is I take my favorite character (Legolas) and save him
in two different places. I also have my Gimli and my Frodo. I only save one
while I'm playing to break a habit of saving over both without thinking. Then
before I shut it off, I update the other one. Just a little tip so you don't
get as aggravated as I did.
Source: Self

OVERDRAW TRICK
Have overdraw as your current active skill. Hold B, then hold A, then let go of
B and then A. The overdraw should still be there. Do the following things to
make it change colors:
Multicolored: Wait until your health comes up.
Light Brown: Use forest friends.
Blue: Use suppress and then use overdraw.

MEDITATION TRICK
Wait until you are healing and then use forest friends to change the color.

7. Walkthrough
-----------------------
There will be the name and then the difficulty for a beginner (someone who's
never beaten it with their character before). Rated from 1-10. As 1 being the
easiest and as 10 being the hardest.

A. Caradhras
------------
a. Foothills: 1
Follow the path south, killing orcs, until you get to the part when Legolas
talks about the crebain. Crebain are the crows that fly around you, or fly
away. Kill them either way. If they get away, the eye in the top-right corner
will get bigger. If it gets too big, you will have to fight a Ring wraith, or
Nazgul. Proceed east. Go north and follow the path to until it turns left. Go
left and then up. Until you get to an orc with a bow and arrow. Then go right,
up on the ledge. Go east. This time, do not follow the path, but go straight
down and into the small opening on the left side of the screen. When you come
out, open the treasure chest and proceed south. Go east to the end of the level.

b. Mountains: 1
Follow the path south until you get to the head of a giant statue. Go southeast
until you see a path blocked by rocks. Go north from there until you see a
shrine (shop). You can sell your items or buy a skill or attribute point there.
Press 'R' to go inside of the shrine. After the shrine, go just below the rocks
next to it and go directly right. You should see a small opening at the top of
a pile of rocks. Go through there until there is a rockslide. Come out and back
to the blocked path. It's now open. Go through it and two orcs should say they
smell you. Kill them and go straight down. When you come to a big rock
structure, open the chest below it. Go up and left. Do not follow the path
down. Keep going straight left. Once to the corner, go all the way down, and
left to the end.

c. Valley: 1
Go straight down to some rocks. That is in a horizontal line. Do not go in
between them. Instead, go west until there is a rockslide. Go back and through
the rocks. Go left and down until you are on a dirt path. You're on the right
path from there. Keep going straight east to the end.

d. Moria Gate: 1
Go straight up from the beginning. Stop when you get to the water. Go east, you
may have to go down some and then east though. When you pass up two inlets of
water (one is the one you went straight up to), go up. There should be a small
bridge made from rocks there. Go across them and kill the orcs. Go east until
there is some moria orcs talking about dwarf meat. Kill them all and proceed
east. Walk past Gimli and walk up to Gandalf and Frodo and to the end.

B. Moria
--------
a. West Hall: 2
After the part when Gandalf and Frodo talk about the trap door, go into it. You
should see two flights of stairs. Go down both, killing the orcs in between
them. As soon as you get off the second flight, go directly left and through
the small hole. Keep going right until you get to a wall. Go down from there
and open the chest. Go down and left to the door. Kill all the enemies in that
room and walk over the button at the bottom of the screen. Make sure it is
pushed down. Go back to the flight of stairs and proceed south. Go through the
door at the bottom of the room and then through the door at the bottom of that
one. Kill all the orcs and go down the stairs.

b. Chasm: 2
After you talk to Gandalf, go left and up. You will be taken to the second part
of the level. Go left from the door. Two orcs will come out of a hole in the
wall. Kill them and go left. Kill the 3 archer orcs and go down. Go down and
through the door. Go on the right side of the hole and go right and walk over
the button. Go down and walk across the bottom edge of the wall and go through
the door. Go left. Up the stairs is a shrine to buy attribute and skill points.
Pass the stairs to the left and go all the way down. Press the button and go
back up to the stairs. Pass the stairs by a little bit to the right and go up
through the door, kill the orcs, and go left and up to the end.

c. Dark Halls: 3
Go down and right from the beginning of the level and through the large
opening. Go right and up until you get to two cave trolls. Kill them, go left,
and then up. Flip the switch and go up to the forge. Go down from there and
back to the large door near the beginning. Go left from there all the way. Go
up and once up all the way you should see a button. Press the button and go
back to the large door. Go up from there and to the now open door where Gimli
says, "No, Balin!" Legolas says he must find a way to get through, but you
already have so this cut scene doesn’t apply to you. Go up and to the left to
the end.

d. Great Hall: 4
Go right from the beginning and kill and the orcs. Do not go down the stairs.
Follow that path until you reach a door. Go inside and at the top the room
there is a switch. Flip the switch and go back to the beginning. Precede left
from there and follow that path until a door. Go inside and to the right there
is a switch. Go out the door but keep going down. There is a treasure chest.
Now go back to the beginning. Go down the stairs and keep going in that
direction. You should reach another set of large, wide stairs. Be careful of
the 2 green orcs if you're a beginner. Once you reach the bottom of the stairs,
there will be two blue orcs. Kill them, and go to the top of the screen and up
the stairs. There is a shrine. Go down the stairs and straight left. Follow the
path right next to the stairs all the way until you get to a trap door down.
Stay along the bottom of that room and go right. Go until you get to the door,
which is the end. It should be in a room with three Moria Orcs in it.

e. Balin's Tomb: 6
Go up and left to the room where Gimli and Gandalf are waiting. Once in the
room, go to the middle and talk to them. You will see a bunch of orcs at the
top of the room. As soon as that's over, go up the stairs at the bottom-left
corner of the room. There you can do as much damage to the cave troll without
getting hurt except from a few orcs you kill in the beginning and some spikes
falling from the roof. As the cave troll is dead get the items he drops but
watch out for the orcs when the music changes. Kill them all and go straight up
to the end.

f. Flight: 1
Go straight up; listen about the Balrog, and go up and left.

g. Khazad dûm: 2
Go down the stairs and across the bridge. Go straight left and up the stairs to
the end.

C. East Mountains
---------------
a. Gate: 3
Go straight down from the beginning. Go left and it should start raining. Go
around the edge of the cliff to the right and then go up. You should be at a
forge for whetstones. Go directly right and when you get to a large tree, go
down to a treasure chest. Go up and then left around the big rock and then
down, and then right. Stay up against the top ledge until you get to the
top-right corner, which is the end.

b. Rolling Hills: 6
This level is rated a 6 because of the high chance of having to fight a Nazgul.
DO NOT OPEN ANY TREE STUMPS! If you do, about 5 crebain will fly away. There
are also many crebain in the trees. Now for the directions: Go right all the
way, and then down. Stay against the bottom of the cliff and go left. When you
get to the edge of the cliff, go down and right. Stay along the top of the
cliff and go all the way right and then down to the end.

c. Dimrill Dale: 4
Scenario 1: There is a small pond above the beginning: Go down and around the
bottom edge of the cliff. Go straight up and you should see a horizontal line
of rocks. You be able to find a way through them. When you do, go right and
then down. Stay on the left side of the screen and go down. You should meet an
elf. He tells you about an orc that took something from him. **NOTE** ONLY DO
THIS NEXT PART IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME IN THIS LEVEL**Go back up and left
and back through the rocks. Somewhere in there should be two orcs and a
treasure chest. Kill the orcs and one of them should give you an artifact:
Bilbo's Map. Then go back to where the elf was. **End of Note** Go up from the
elf and then right, and then down all the way to the end.
Scenario 2: There are ruins above the beginning: Go right from the beginning
and then go up when there is a large rock next to you. Go straight up and stay
along the left side of the screen. Stay along that wall until you are going
down and come to a rock in front of you. Go left from there and then down and
then right.

d. West Woods: 2
Go down from the beginning. When you get to the bottom, go right. Go up. If you
see an Ent Pool go in it and keep going up and then left to the end of the
small cliff. If not, then go back down and halfway left. Go up. Either way,
follow these next directions: Go right but watch out for the orc traps. Then,
as soon as you are able to go down, go down and right. If you see an elf, wait
for Aragorn. If you see both the elf and Aragorn, then go past the elf and wait
for Aragorn to talk to Haldir of Lorien, the elf, and you will be taken to
Lothlorien.

e. Lothlorien: 0
Do not try to save in this level. It seems like you never get the chance, but
don't keep pressing select or start because if you do, you will have to start
back at the last level that you saved in. Especially don't save, because your
game will be stuck unless you had a backup file.

D. Amon Hen
-----------
a. Nen Hithoel: 3
Go directly right from the beginning until you get to a small line (an edge of
a cliff). Go down from there and around the left side of the bush. Go until you
get to a bridge and three orcs talking. Cross the bridge and kill the orcs.
From the barrels that they were standing next to, go down and right at the same
time to the end.

b. Parth Galen South: 4
Go as far down as you can and then right until you get to a statue head. Go
above the statue head and proceed up and right at the same time. Once as you
went as far as you could in that direction, go down and through the crack but
watch out for those orcs. Go right from there: the end.

c. Slopes: 6
Go right from the beginning, killing orcs, until you get to a vertical line of
rocks. Follow the rocks down and around the bottom. Go back up the other side
to the top. Go right and then down to see Aragorn. You will then be chased by
Uruk-Hai. Go back the way to the beginning, which is now the exit.

d. Parth Galen South 2: 4
Go up through the crack and then left and down to the statue's head. From
there, go up and left to a wall. Follow the wall straight up to the end.

e. Nen Hithoel 2: 7
Go left a little bit and then at the same time, press left and up at the same
time. Cross the bridge to see a Boss and the dying Boromir. Go back to the
other side of the bridge and kill the Uruk-Hai with the yew bow. Go up and
right after that until you get to the top of the small cliff. Go directly on
the other side of it and wait. Three Uruk-Hai should come and attack you. Kill
them, and then lure the boss over to the small cliff on the right side of the
level. You go around the top and keep attacking the boss from there. Go near
Boromir to end the level.

E. Rohan
--------
a. Eastemnet South: 4
Follow Aragorn and Gimli until you get to two trees with crebain in them. From
there, go left and then down, killing Uruk-Hai and crebain as you go. Cross the
bridge and go up until you get to a cliff. Go left on the bridge and then all
the way down.

b. Plains: 4
Go left all the way and then up to get a full health power-up. Go around the
bottom of the rocks to your right and then up all the way. Go right and then up
the cliff. As soon as you get over the rocks to your right, go right until you
have to fight two more orcs. Go straight up from there to the end.

c. East Wall: 4
Slowly go up from the beginning so you can shoot the crebain that are in the
bushes. Go all the way left from there and then up to the Wargs. Go up from
them to a forge. Go right after you visit the forge. Once all the way right, go
up onto the cliff. Go left from there to the end.

F. Fanghorn
----------
a. Copse: 5
In Fanghorn, there will be a new kind of enemy. A Wisp. It is a small flame. If
it gets close enough to touch you, it will become bigger and burn you. It can
kill you in 1-3 hits. So make them your priority when you confront them. Now
for the directions: As soon as you enter, you should see a wisp and an orc.
Kill them and go left and up, staying along the water's edge. Stop when you get
to a small bridge of rocks. Cross the bridge to see about 4 Uruk-Hai and a few
wargs. Kill them and walk along the dirt path down and then all the way left,
and then up to the wargs. Go until you see your first tree to your right. As
soon as you pass it, go up and left to a dirt path. Follow the path across the
river and continue on that path to the end of the level.

b. Watery Glades: 6
Follow along the path until you get to a bridge of rocks. There should be a
small Forest Troll on the other side. Kill him and cross the bridge. Stay along
the water's edge and go down and right. Eventually you should come to a
treasure chest. Open it and go until you find another chest. Open it and go
straight up. Go around the right side of the small lake and then up and left at
the same time. You will have to fight three Uruk-Hai and another small Forest
Troll. Follow the dirt path that is left of him to the end.

c. Step: 4
Go up and left simultaneously (watch out for the MANY crebain) until you come
to a dirt path leading up and down. Follow it up until you see an adult warg
and many smaller wargs. Go right until you see another dirt path below you. Go
up, opposite the path until you have to fight an orc with two large swords.
Kill him and open the treasure chest only if you want 2 wisps along with your
treasure. Go left (you'll have to go up and down a little, though) until you
see a dirt path. Follow it to the end.

d. Derndingle: 5
WATCH OUT FOR CREBAIN!!!! Go left from the beginning until you see a bridge of
rocks. Cross the bridge and go directly up. Cross the other bridge to your
right. Go right until you reach a pond. Go up past the left of the rocks to
find somewhere around there two orcs, a treasure chest, and many crebain. From
the treasure chest, go directly left all the way and then up.

e. Fanghorn Troll: 6
Go straight to the top right hand side of the screen. There is a spot that has
a small entrance but a big inside. Stay directly opposite of the entrance and
wait until the small troll gets to you. Kill him but don't change you
postition. When the big troll gets there, he will walk and try to get in but
will not if you are right across from the entrance to the opening. If you are
on the side, he can get in. So stay in the middle and just shoot him. As soon
as he starts to fall, get very close to him and away from the wall or else you
will go directly to Fanghorn Rise without getting the items because that is
also the end of the level. Also, make sure you stay near the top of that room.
If you're too close, he'll be able to hit you.

f. Rise
You will meet Gandalf here automatically. Instead of following Aragorn, Gimli,
and Gandalf, go directly right to a river. Go up from there and then left. You
will be taken to another part of the Rise. To your right should be your second
artifact: Moria's Lamp. Then follow the your way back. This time, go right.

G. Gap of Rohan
--------------
a. West River: 4
Follow the path up all the way. Go right and then up over the side of the
cliff. Go up and left at the same time until you see dirt. Once on the dirt, go
up until you see some more dirt. Follow that path up.

b. South River: 5
Follow the path across the bridge and all the way to the edge of the cliff
where the path ends. Stay along the bottom on the screen after you go up on the
cliff. Go right and kill all the crebain. Do not go up. Follow the way that the
crebain were. Go right until you can go up. Go up to the end.

c. North Road: 6
Follow the path until you have gone right. Be ready to fight about 6 red
Uruk-Hai: the hardest kind. Keep following the path but with caution. Kill the
enemies or run away from them and keep following the path. When you get the
some broken wood and some overgrown grass, press B to chop it down. Keep going
up to the end.

d. Vale
Follow the path until you get to a crossroad: One east and one north. Go on the
east path. Take that path until you get to a dark tree and some broken wood. Go
below the tree and then left. Once all the way left, go up above the edge of
the cliff and go right until you see a dark tree if front of a path. Follow
that path up to the end.

H. Helm's Deep
-------------
a. Hornburg: 1
Follow the path up to Rohan's men and then go across the bridge.

b. Battlements: 9
What's there to say? It's hard. Go back and forth along the wall killing orcs
and Uruk-Hai. If you see a ladder that no one is coming out of, go up to it and
press B. Legolas will slash his knives and break the ladder. Remember, if you
get all the way to one side, you still have to go back because of the more orc
ladders that sprang up. Once you have gone all the way right, back and back
once more, the screen will shake. Gimli will run past you to the right. Follow
him down the stairs.

c. Breach: 7
All you do is guard the breach. As soon as you get down the stairs, there is a
hole to your right. Hold it off until Legolas starts talking. After that, go
all the left and then down to the end.

d. Gorge: 6
Go left and when you can see the mountain at the top of the screen, go along it
left and up to some stairs. Go up the stairs and kill the orcs. When you did
that, go to the right side of the screen and then open the chests. Go back next
to the forge and you should see another chest. Open it to find Sauron's Ashes:
Another Artifact. Down the stairs and all the way left to the water. Go down
and cross the rock bridge. Kill the orcs and head up. All the way up. Once
there, go left to the end.

e. Valley: 6
Go left until you see a rock bridge above you. Go across it and kill the
crebain. Go left all the way. The end is where the wargs came.

f. Glittering Caves: 2
Stay along the bottom of the screen and go all the way. When it turns into the
top stay along it. You should find many chests. Open them and go back to where
the path opens up. Go down and right until you go through a hole. Go directly
right from there to a forge. Sell or buy and go all the way down. Go left and
keep going down. Go until you talk to Aragorn and Gandalf, which is the end.

g. Hornburg 2: 6
In this level you must go around the field and destroy orcs and siege weapons.
When you see a siege weapon, (looks like a large crossbow) walk up to it and
keep pressing B to slash it until you start to shoot arrows. Most of them are
along the edges. After you stay along the edges and come back to the first one,
stand still. If you see an arrow pointing, you're done. If not, you need to
break another. Another way to tell is when you're done you should hear a sound
like when a character with an active skill heals. If you didn't hear the sound
or don't see the arrow, then just wander around the edges looking for one that
is still put together or not all the way broken. If you see the arrow, go to
the farthest down and right location and then go up to the tree and then left.
