"For very old school gamers only"

Game and Watch Gallery 4 is the fourth installment in the series (duh). It brings several old Game and watch games to the game boy advance. But is it worth your money? That's what this review is for!

First lets start with graphics. The Classic versions have graphics that look they belong on the Atari 2600, NOT the Game boy Advance. The modern versions have okay graphics, but nothing special. The modern graphics look like a super mario advance title, which isn't the best the Game Boy Advance can do. For examples of Game Boy Advance games with great graphics, check out Metroid Fusion and Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.

Now for sound. The Classic games have no music and the only sound effect is constant beeping. The Modern games have mediocre music and bad sound effects. The Game boy advance is capable of much much more sound-wise. For examples of Game Boy Advance games with great music, check out the Sonic advance or Advance Wars series. Those games have good music. This game does not.

As for a story, this game has none, so I won't add any more to this category.

And now for the big one, gameplay. The classic and modern versions play almost exactly the same, so if you think the modern games have more depth, think again. The gameplay is very simple, so simple, in fact, that it plays like an arcade game released in 1978. All you do is move your character back and forth while doing stuff like catching people who fall from a burning building or filling tanks with cement. The gameplay starts out fun but very quickly gets tedious and repetitive. If you get a high enough score you will earn stars which unlock new games which are just as tedious and slow. The best of the games on this cartridge is a very simple version of The Legend of Zelda, which plays like the Atari 2600 game Adventure. And even that game is tedious and slow like every other game on the cartridge.

And now the conclusion. This games graphics and sound are mediocre, so don't buy it just for that. The gameplay is so simple that even old school gamers will find it boring and repetitive. The only people who will like this one are very old school gamers who often dust off their Atari 2600's. Others will just find this game boring, repetitive, and slow.
