"The Perferct Card Game Simulator"

The second attempt of transporting the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters game unto the Gameboy Advance system is the best on the GBA yet. It is, unfortunately for DM7, a lot better than Duel Monsters 7 and maybe even better than the PSX games. The game once again goes into the roots of the actual card game unlike the Gameboy Color games. You duel within the Battle City where you once again play against the best duelists in the anime. As this is an upgrade of the Duel Monsters 5 Expert 1 game, the number of cards are upgraded from over 900 to over 1100. The boosters in this game goes all the way up to the Thousand-Eyes Bible series(if this isn't the latest booster in the game, please let me know) and also has some custom boosters thrown in. The menu has also been updated from DM5, so it is a lot easier to manage your cards and edit your decks. The battle system is also upgraded for the better as well. Also, don't think that you will be overpowered early in the game, because you get a pretty strong deck in the beginning. This game helps beginners start off a lot better than DM5. If you were thinking about considering to buy any type of Yu-Gi-Oh! game, Japanese or English, then I would recommend this the most of all.

Graphics: 8 As with almost every aspect of this game, the graphics have been updated from DM5. The card arts look even better and sharper than before.

Sound: 5 This stays the same for all of the Duel Monsters games. Like the games before it, the sound gets repetitive very quickly. If you were planning on buying this game just because of updated sound, you might want to pass, but why would pass up on such a good game just because of the sound?

Control: 8 The controls have really been upgraded. It is a lot easier to create a deck and scroll through your huge collection of cards. The way that the battle system has been updated is just incredible. The duels go by a little quicker and its a littler easier to play.

Difficulty: 9 The difficulty has been increased as well. The AI is definitely a lot smarter in some areas, while it has decreased in others. Although some of the AI are just more difficult because they get the same almost unbeatable combo, others are actually more strategic.
Replay Value: 10 The game has even more cards than DM5. Over 1100 cards!

Overall: 10 Except for the sound, I think that this game has emulated every aspect of the real card game perfectly. You can link up and duel or trade like you could at DM5. The absolute best Yu-Gi-Oh! game out.
