Hi; the name's Duane! I started writing some video game guides/FAQs when
I was just a kid. Across a couple years, I put out fifteen (15) guides,
and then life took over and I pretty much vanished.

It's been a decade or so and I'm a student trying to work my way into the
world, though I have a few years before I can get there. I intend to pick up
the pace, at least as much as I can, with these guides, and get some heavy
hitters out there finally, but again, this passion of mine costs time,
and, well, time really is money.

So I would like to say, and this is by no means some requirement, that if you
enjoy this guide (or any of my other guides), then PLEASE consider giving
a little donation, even if it's just a tiny bit of something. ANYTHING will
help me, as I have many things that I need to address, let alone the fact that
gaming itself is an expensive hobby. But in the long run, the reason I ask is
this MOST importantly:

Donations will help me write more and more guides, and therefore give YOU
more and more of what you wish to see.

Megaman Zero is a new type of game in the Megaman series. You play as Zero,
and Megaman X is long gone...or not. In the previous game, X helped Zero in the
form of a spirit Cyber-Elf as Zero battled Neo Arcadia, who's leader was a
pirated copy of X. This is another chapter in Zero's tales.

---

It has been a year since Zero chose a different path from Ciel...

He still fights against Neo Arcadia. But these battles have lost meaning for
him. Zero knows that to find his purpose, he should find Ciel and the other
resistance soldiers...

                                 [NOTE 1]
ONE HUGE NOTE: if you are afraid of spoilers, then be wary! I will likely
divulge some things along the way, if not good portions of things.

                                 [NOTE 2]
There's only so much you can give in a guide about a game like this. I will
basically just list all the enemies you encounter, hard parts in levels to get
through, anything special about levels, and so on.

                                 [NOTE 3]
BIG NOTE, a decent amount of the enemy names I made up because I didn't
know the real name of the enemies. Some enemies like the Tellybomb have their
original name listed, though, I believe.

THE MISSION
===========
After the introduction sequence, Zero finds himself being followed by many
Soldiers. Then, there's a fight. This is really just annoying, not even hard.
Just relentlessly keep using the Z-Saber (R+B for secondary weapon, or you
can switch the controls to what I have listed above) and you'll wipe them out.
After you kill a lot of them, Zero states that it isn't fun anymore. Go right
and continue on until you see some spiky logged thing. This is a Spike Tower.

Kill these easily with the Z-Saber. Go right to see a Rollopod. Continue on
to meet a boss!
=======================
SUB-BOSS: Elec. Golem
=======================
This is real simple. Avoid his attack patten and keep wailing on him with the
Z-Saber. He'll go down soon.
-----
Further down is another Elec. Golem. Take him out the same way. Keep going east
to find more and more robots. You'll also see a new one, the Vulture. Soon you
will reach falling pillars. After a little bit of that, there'll be a single
pillar inside a not so big gap between land areas. Drop down and tiny bit and
jump left to find an Extra Life in the alcove. Walljump back up and continue
on your way. Soon you'll encounter another boss!
======================
BOSS: Mecha Scorpion
======================
This guy isn't that hard. The screen will be scrolling so remember to keep up!
A smart thing to do is fiercely attack the magnetic claw thing it shoots with
the Z-Saber. After that is dead, just attack the head with the Z-Saber. Evade
the sting as it makes holes in the ground.
-----
After the battle, you'll get your Results, and then a short cutscene where
Harpuia the Guardian comes and rescues Zero (we can easily inference this,
at least).

AFTER THE MISSION
=================
We see a scene where the Resistance Base is now built anew, and looking snazzy.
Ciel is still there, but she appointed a commander to lead them, a Reploid by
the name of Elpizo. After some talk, Zero is found outside and brought to
Cerveau, the scientist. He heals Zero up quickly. After the scene, you are
allowed to control Zero again. Go outside and go left for a quick talk with
the resistance soldier. Go right and into the room labeled CMD. Talk to Elpizo
by using Up on the D-Pad, then go right. Out here, go right and into the LAB.
Talk to Cerveau for the Chain Rod and Shield Boomerang weapons. Go out and into
the room labeled CIEL.

Also, I don't know if you noticed, but the menu has changed it's look. Anyhow,
you'll see a scene, then you should save your game. Go back to the CMD room
and watch the scene. Agree to help Elpizo, but cancel out when you see the
bosses. Press Up and choose the operator. Go to the Sand Wilderness. Here you
should kill lots of enemies and level up your weapons. When done, go back to
the base and talk to Elpizo. Choose the Hyleg Ourobockle level.

o------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Act Two: Hyleg Ourobockle, Forest of Dysis 03.02
o------------------------------------------------------------------------o

THE MISSION
===========
Go east and you'll find Bees. Go a bit more to find the Venus Flytrap robots
and some Drillmoles. Keep going and you'll see a purple Bee, a Bomb-ee.
Bomb-ees blow up when destroyed, hence I named them that. Keep on going and
you'll soon meet a Mace & Shield robot. Soon, you'll see these floating things
that are green and blue. You use your Chain Rod to hook onto these and swing
across the gaps to the other side. Once there, walljump your way to the top
and enter the ruin type thing. Inside are new enemies, Spiderbots. Make your
way to the bottom left and enter the door.
=====================
SUB-BOSS: Spiketrap
=====================
This guy has three ways to be beaten. First off, always avoid the bouncing
balls, they explode. Second, he'll flood the room occasionally so be careful.
The first way to beat him is to plainly attack the eye with Buster Gun shots.
The second, more creative way is to extend the Chain Rod and latch onto the
red nose thing below the eye. Pull it out for a platform, so jump on it and
slash away with the Z-Saber. The platform will go back in after some seconds,
though. The final, CRAZY way is to dashjump onto the red nose thing and keep
walljumping off it to stay above the spikes. At this time, keep slashing with
the Z-Saber while jumping up.
-----
There's a secret passage to access after winning this fight. From the ground,
walljump up the left side of the now dead boss and you'll find a hole hidden
behind the leg or whatever. Explore down here to find life capsules and an
Extra Life. Beware, spikes are everywhere. To continue, go back to the boss
room and go right. Here, use the Chain Rod to pull the stones. Also, you can
try pulling the Soldiers around. :D Also, you find the Resistance Soldiers
here. #1 and #2 are on the bottom level. When you climb up, pull the stone out
to find #3. By the way, talk to them to rescue them. Go left and you
can get a Sub Tank here. Pull the stone out then drop down. Use the Chain Rod
to swing across and find it. Go back up and left.

At this spike pit, pull the stone onto it to cross. Climb up to find a slamming
wall of spikes. To avoid it, go down and stay on the sides of the platforms.
You'll soon find Resistance Soldier #4 under the slamming wall. When you get
to the boss door, DON'T GO IN IT. Pull the stone and jump down to find the
last Resistance Soldier, #5. Now go into the boss room.
=================================
BOSS: Hyleg Ourobockle - 2 bars
=================================
This guy has more tricks than harmful attacks. First, the snake thing you're
on moves. At one point, it'll align like steps, then the purple things shoot
lasers at you. After that, Hyleg throws a Slinky-like thing down and it bounces
at you. (LOL) Then, the snake moves to a vertical position, and you must use
walljumping to save yourself. Also, at that point, electric currents are shot
through the platform. Finally, it realigns itself. Now for his attacks. He'll
sometimes put his arms into the purple dots and they come out to grab you.
He also tries to normally hit you. Finally, he will slide across the snake
platform before it starts to do the alignment process. If you can charge the
Z-Saber, he'll be no problem.

After, there's a scene
where X comes in his spirit Baby-Elf form. He'll talk some about the two dark
Baby Elves and leave.
-----
AFTER THE MISSION
=================
Go to Cerveau to hear some cool things about Zero. Go to Ciel and save, then
go choose another mission. Choose the Polar Kamrous level.

o------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Act Three: Polar Kamrous, Computer Zone 03.03
o------------------------------------------------------------------------o

THE MISSION
===========
Go right to meet the new enemies, Bubblefish. Further right are newer ones,
Air Radars. Soon you'll meet new ones inside the building, I call Shield Dozers
because they are like bulldozers with shields. A little bit further you'll
meet a Sideflipper, it shoots bullets and obviously flips sides. The level is
not that hard to navigate, so I don't really need to tell you what to do. What
you're looking for are gray/blue generators with flashing red lights. You must
destroy them. You should have found 2 before you reach...
=====================
SUB-BOSS: Ice Golem
=====================
This guy isn't too hard, it's really like the Elec. Golem. Just memorize the
pattern and evade while slashing it up with the Z-Saber.
-----
There's Soldiers in the next area, and the last 2 generators. Soon you'll reach
the boss door.
==============================
BOSS: Polar Kamrous - 2 bars
==============================
This guy's attacks are hard hitting. The first is to make a spiker ice wall
and hit it towards you. Don't let it smush you between it and the wall or you
die. The next is to make a HUGE ice wall he hits to make ice blocks fly at you.
The next is to plainly walk at you while waving his big arms VIOLENTLY. The
final attack is to throw an ice block at you. Avoid all these and used charged
Z-Saber slashes. You should have them by now.

You'll get the Ice Element chip from him.
-----
AFTER THE MISSION
=================
Go save and choose Panter Flauclaws as the next boss.

o------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Act Four: Panter Flauclaws, Neo Arcadian Train 03.04
o------------------------------------------------------------------------o

THE MISSION
===========
Go right to meet a Spikedropper, which drops a Spikeroller. Spikerollers are
spiked wheels that roll at you. Keep going and you'll reach a second train.
Now you'll find a Crabclaw enemy. You'll soon reach a part where you must stop
the Spikedroppers from stealing the cargo. Don't let them take any of the
boxes and that adds to your chance of getting an S rank. Keep going and you'll
reach the boss.
=================================
BOSS: Panter Flauclaws - 2 bars
=================================
This guy is Thunder based so he has attacks like shockwaves and sonic blades,
nothing too difficult. Equip the Ice Chip and use charged Z-Saber slashes to
eliminate this guy quickly.

You'll get the Thunder Element chip from him.
-----
AFTER THE MISSION
=================
The usual, save and get a new mission: Phoenix Magnion.

o------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Act Five: Phoenix Magnion, Power Room 03.05
o------------------------------------------------------------------------o

THE MISSION
===========
From the start, go right and you'll see some Tellybombs that you can hit and
they fly towards something. Continue on and hit the Tellybombs so that they
blow up walls in your way. Down on the bottom level is a green Jumper, so take
him out. Soon, after heading east some, you'll reach a Flame-go-round, a sphere
like obstacle that spins and shoots flames. In the next room is #1 of the
fire generators, destroy it. Go into the next room. Keep going and you'll soon
generator #2. Keep going and you'll run into Electropods. Climb the ladder and
go right to find generator #3. Two rooms away is generator #4, and the boss.
================================
BOSS: Phoenix Magnion - 2 bars
================================
This guy is hard. He teleports around, flies at you in a firey ball, and shoots
fire missiles everywhere. Also, he can cause the molten lava to fly up, then
try to grab you. If he grabs you, he'll hold you so ghost spirits (?) of past
enemies can hit you, in the following order: Vile, Colonel, Bit, and Sigma
(from Megaman X1). Just try your best to dodge these all and keep on him with
the Thunder and Z-Saber. (Yes, Thunder, not Ice.)

You'll get the Flame Element chip after that.
-----
AFTER THE MISSION
=================
Go save your data, if you don't want to, you might as well anyway. You have to
leave the room to continue. When you're ready, go back in for a scene. Elpizo
has ordered a full scale assault. After he leaves, you must follow him.

o------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Act Six: Assault on Neo Arcadia 03.06
o------------------------------------------------------------------------o

THE MISSION
===========
Go right to discover a new enemy, Bat Eyes. Keep going on and you'll soon see
some more Crabclaws. After a lot of heading east, you'll reach the boss.
=================================
BOSS: Golem Armada - 1 bar each
=================================
This is REAL easy. You just have to refight all the Golems. The only one you
might not have seen is the Flame Golem, whom was hidden in Phoenix Magnion's
stage. I didn't mention him in the section for that. Anyway, remember, use
Ice for Thunder, Thunder for Flame, and Flame for Ice.

Go east for a scene. The Guardians are standing by a fallen Elpizo. After some
talk, you'll be transferred back to the base with Elpizo. You'll then be sent
to stop the aircraft heading for the base.
-----
AFTER THE MISSION
=================
You'll automatically start the next one.

o------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Act Seven: Stop the Bomb 03.07
o------------------------------------------------------------------------o

THE MISSION
===========
The goal first is to cross all the flying robots to get onto the ship. Upon
landing on the ship, you'll be confronted.
=========================
SUB-BOSS: Ladybug Robot
=========================
This is simple, just attack the heck out of it with charged Z-Saber attacks.
-----
Continue deep inside the ship. When you reach a split where there's a boss door
and a ladder, go up the ladder. If you get hurt by the electric laser thing,
oh well. Go through the door to fight another Elec. Golem. Keep going and you
will soon hit a scene where Ciel is transferred here. This is real easy, as
you are swarmed with Jumpers and Magnetics. Just use the Z-Saber and hold them
off for a minute and about 20 seconds. After Ciel leaves, go west into the
storage room. Go down below and jump down. You'll land on another ship, so go
right.
===============================
BOSS: Kuwagast Angus - 2 bars
===============================
This guy isn't too hard. He shoots lasers, tries to pincer you, and sucks you
in with a tornado. Also, he can try to blow you away with the tornado.
Just use Ice charged Z-Saber slashes to end this battle.
---
AFTER THE MISSION
=================
You'll see a scene where the operators play a message Elpizo left. He seems to
think he failed everyone and left to kill all the humans and destroy Neo
Arcadia. He says he'll be a true hero then. We have to follow him, so choose
the Burble Hekelot stage.

o------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Act Eight: Burble Hekelot, Forest of Notus 03.08
o------------------------------------------------------------------------o

THE MISSION
===========
Good call, Elpizo is here. I like his theme music. After some talk, he dashes
off. Go right some to see a new enemy, Caterbots. (Or whatever) Go right even
more to see Blastjumpers flying out of pits. Further on, you must use the
Chain Rod to cross the pit by hooking onto the little floating objects. Keep
going to find some ruins again. Soon is a boss door.
=========================
SUB-BOSS: Spiketrap 2.0
=========================
This thing's back and is the same. Just use one of the three strategies to
defeat him and move on.
-----
Keep going until you find Elpizo again. After the scene, follow him to find...
===============================
BOSS: Burble Hekelot - 2 bars
===============================
This guy's pretty easy. First off, he can "hump" the walls to make Caterbots
fall down. He also hangs down and hits you with his long legs somehow. Another
one is to drain your HP with his tongue, which heals him and makes him grow
larger. This only happens if you have an A or S rank though. Also, he likes
to eat the Caterbots. Eating a green one doubles his size and he uses missile
attacks then. Eating two green or one gold Caterbot(s) will make him triple in
size and move very quickly. While large, he can roll around and try to hit you,
which hurts badly. This guy doesn't have a weakness, so use charged neutral
Z-Saber slashes.
-----
AFTER THE MISSION
=================
Go into the next room to find Elpizo. The dark Baby Elves are trying to get
X to break the seal on the Dark Elf. X can't hold it much longer. Back at the
base, choose the Leviathan mission.

o------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Act Nine: Leviathan, Computer Zone 2 03.09
o------------------------------------------------------------------------o

THE MISSION
===========
The first new enemy you see is an Icewolf. These wolf robots jump on you and
bite you until they either stop or you break loose. Further on is another robot
to meet, the Snowballer. These tri-armed/legged robots just throw snowballs at
you. Soon you'll be inside the factory. Go right to find the boss.
==========================
BOSS: Leviathan - 2 bars
==========================
Leviathan isn't any different than the last game. She still lays ice bomb type
things, makes whirlpools, shoots little missiles, slashes you with her staff,
and makes a ring of ice bomb things to hit you with. She has like a set pattern
so it's easy to win. Use Flame charged Z-Saber slashes to win quickly.
-----
AFTER THE MISSION
=================
Save the game and choose Harpuia's level.

o------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Act Ten: Harpuia, Crystal Cave 03.10
o------------------------------------------------------------------------o

THE MISSION
===========
There's no new enemies this stage. At one point, you reach a place where you
have to shoot an object when it changes to either red or blue to have that
color of platforms appear. After that is a freefall where there's a door you
can reach on to the right, while falling. If you get into it, you fight an
Elec. Golem then find 3 Life Capsules. Continue on and you'll soon find some
brainwashed Resistance Soldiers. You can kill them if you want. I don't know
if it was just me, but I killed every one of them and gained an Extra Life for
each one dead. I think it decreases your rank or something, though. Soon you'll
find Elpizo again, and after the scene, a boss.
========================
BOSS: Harpuia - 2 bars
========================
Harpuia hasn't changed much either, his attacks are the same basically: sonic
blades, little drill shock things, picking you up and slamming you, electric
bolts, and so on. His one new thing is to dash at you after each attack you hit
him with. Use Ice charged Z-Saber slashes to win.
-----
AFTER THE MISSION
=================
Save and choose Fefnir's mission.

o------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Act Eleven: Fefnir, Shuttle Factory 03.11
o------------------------------------------------------------------------o

THE MISSION
===========
This is/was Phoenix Magnion's level. Fall down the hole and go through the
level as usual. There's no new enemies until the end area of the level. Before
that is a little hard part where you have to cross platforms that fall. Anyway,
the new enemy is a Shooter Soldier. These guys man big laser cannons. Soon
after is the boss.
=======================
BOSS: Fefnir - 2 bars
=======================
Fefnir isn't too hards. His attacks are easy to dodge. He either blasts a big
fireball at you or a stream of little ones. He also shoots a bomb that explodes
plus he occasionally slams the ground. An attack to watch for is when he grabs
you and shoots you into the air. Use Thunder charged Z-Saber slashes
to pull this one off. By the way, having an A or S rank allows him to use an
attack where fire shoots up from the ground everywhere for a pretty long
duration.
-----
AFTER THE MISSION
=================
After all this, you'll get a message from Elpizo. When you see him on the
screen, he looks terribly deranged. After some talk, X apparently appears and
does something to Elpizo. The transmission then stops. X appears at the base
and talks to you. After, you're transported to Neo Arcadia.

o------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Act Twelve: Neo Arcadia                                          03.12
o------------------------------------------------------------------------o

THE MISSION
===========
There's no new enemies, so continue on to the boss. There's nothing hard to
navigate either.
=====================================
BOSS: Rainbow Devil Mk. II - 3 bars
=====================================
This guy isn't too tough. He basically shape shifts a lot so just watch out for
that. He has no weakness so use non elemental charged Z-Saber slashes to win
this thing quickly. Also, stay on the walls to avoid him.
-----
AFTER THE MISSION
=================
Save the game and then head to the Temple of Flame.

o------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Act Thirteen: Temple of Flame 03.13
o------------------------------------------------------------------------o

THE MISSION
===========
There's no new enemies until later after the first part. The enemies are Tanks
which are mini-tanks on the walls that shoot you. Continuing on, you find a
place where the lava rises. Get to the top quickly to avoid death. After that,
you'll find the boss.
=================================
BOSS: Fefnir Tank Form - 3 bars
=================================
This guy is the easiest of the new formed guardians. He basically is a big
tank like vehicle and shoots flames at you. Use Thunder charged Z-Saber
attacks. (Man, that's getting repetitive.)
-----
AFTER THE MISSION
=================
You'll see a scene with Fefnir, then go to the base. Talk to Ciel to go to the
Temple of Ice.

o------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Act Fourteen: Temple of Ice 03.14
o------------------------------------------------------------------------o

THE MISSION
===========
This place isn't too hard to navigate, and no new enemies. It won't be too long
before you reach...
=========================================
BOSS: Leviathan Manta Ray Form - 3 bars
=========================================
This thing is like a big manta ray robot. She mainly sends missiles your way
or dashes into you. Use Fire charged Z-Saber slashes, as usual.
-----
AFTER THE MISSION
=================
You'll see a scene with Leviathan, then back to the base again. Save and go to
the last temple, the Temple of Wind.

o------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Act Fifteen: Temple of Wind 03.15
o------------------------------------------------------------------------o

THE MISSION
===========
Another place that's really simple to navigate. At one point, you meet the
final new enemy, the Barriers. They fly around with shields in front of them.
Attack them from behind to defeat them. Soon after you'll reach a scene. Elpizo
is standing over Harpuia, and the Dark Elf is with him. Elpizo hurts Harpuia
even more when he says something. Elpizo leaves but makes the two dark Baby
Elves go into Harpuia and control him. Harpuia starts to change, and even begs
Zero to kill him, but it's too late...
==================================
BOSS: Harpuia Possessed - 3 bars
==================================
Harpuia is changed into a big falcon jet thing. He uses electric and wind
attacks. One to watch out for is the tornado, as it can knock you off. Dash
through it to be safe. Keep on him with Ice charged Z-Saber slashes.
-----
AFTER THE MISSION
=================
Harpuia will be relieved of the elves and will tell Zero to save X. Back at the
base, save and go to the final level.

o------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Act Sixteen: Final Battle                                        03.16
o------------------------------------------------------------------------o

THE MISSION
===========
Go a little ways through the level to find a boss room containing teleports.
The teleports are as follows: Top = Hyleg Ourobockle, Bottom Left = Polar
Kamrous, and Bottom Right = Phoenix Magnion. By the way, Hyleg is weak against
nothing. Keep going through the level to reach the second boss room. The
teleports are as so: Top = Panter Flauclaws, Bottom Left = Anchus Twins, and
Bottom Right = Burble Hekelot. Take care of Flauclaws and Hekelot first, then
take on the Anchus Twins.
=================================
SUB-BOSS: Anchus Twins - 3 bars
=================================
These guys are rough. Both Herculious and Kuwagust are weak against Ice, so use
that. Also, they share a health bar so lay the attacks on either one whenever
you can. They sometimes do single attacks, but they also do attacks together.
One to watch out for is the Double Dash, where they both fly across the screen.
After they are finished, they try to hit you with another Double Dash, so
watch out. (By finished, I mean have their health depleted.
-----
Keep going and you'll soon find Elpizo. If you look and payed attention to
what X has said, you'll see that X had to use his body to seal the true power
of the Dark Elf in that big structure you see. Zero tries to stop Elpizo, but
Elpizo stops Zero. X's body is then blasted apart and the Dark Elf is released
from her imprisonment. After that, the dark Baby Elves AND the Dark Elf go into
Elpizo to create...
============================
BOSS: Dark Elpizo - 2 bars
============================
This guy is tough, and has no weakness. His attacks aren't super damaging but
they do enough of it. He uses his saber to slash you and such, and also has
an attack that drains your HP to heal him. Also, he can call in some robots
to help him beat you. He'll either call a Soldier or Spikeroller, so it's not
too hard. Keep on him to win.
-----
You know that there's always at least two boss fights at the end of a game.
The Dark Elf fuses with Elpizo to create...
=========================================
FINAL BOSS: Elpizo's Vengeance - 3 bars
=========================================
I named this one, and I think it fits. Anyway, this guy has many attacks.
One is to make a big dark ball to hit you, another is to shoot little spheres
at you, another is to make a spike platform appear, and the blue things can
sometimes try to hit you. Also, he makes spiked walls that try to smush you
between them. Keep on him with charged (non elemental) Z-Saber slashes to win
this final struggle.
-----
Elpizo lies in a heap on the floor. He is dying and has regained his mind.
The Dark Elf turns light/good for a moment and turns Elpizo into a Cyber-Elf.
He is saved from death by her. She turns evil again and flies away. X appears
and says that she used to be good and tried to save the world. A man named
Dr. Weil put a curse on her that made her evil. Then the credits roll.

                       CONGRATULATIONS! YOU BEAT THE GAME!
