I chose not to include controls, story, items, etc. in the guide because you either already have them or they don't belong in this guide. This guide is the easiest way I have found to beat the game (if you can bomb jump). I have included several sequence breaks. Forgive me for spoilers, but they may appear without notice. I won't tell you to save. If we pass a save point, save at it. As we get further into the game, my descriptions will get shorter for basic travel. I'm not going to hold your hand for every single one screen room. It makes the guide way too long. Note for hard mode players: There are minor differences for your mode. I hope you can deal with them. Now that that's out of the way, we can begin. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Special Abilities ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Infinite Bomb Jump **Mastered** Just keep laying bombs with the correct timing. It's hard to explain. You just need to get a feel for it. Diagonal Bomb Jump **Essential** Lay a bomb and move to the side a little. Right before it goes off, lay another bomb. In the air hold down and towards the first bomb. Lay bombs like crazy and keep holding the d-pad. Another timing thing. Walljumping **Mastered** Spin jump into a wall and push the opposite direction on the d-pad. Before you leave the wall, jump. Easy enough. Shinespark **Essential for 100%** Run until the speed booster starts then hold down. Jump and hold the d-pad in any direction and you will fly that direction. If you go sideways and hit a ramp you will start running again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Walkthrough ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This will be divided into steps so it will be easier to use. The sections are divided by area and whether we are using sequence breaks or not. Section I (REALLY BORING sequence that anyone could do with their eyes closed) 1-1. Head left and collect the morph ball. 1-2. Head right until you reach a chozo statue. Activate it. Go through the right door. 1-3. Go up until you reach a door on the left. Go in. Head left with the morph ball and through the door to collect the long beam. 1-4. Go right and take the higher path. Continue until you reach a horizontal chamber. Go left and enter the door. Go back to the right and kill the monster. Go through the door. Activate the chozo statue. Go through the right door. 1-5. Go down until there is a door on the right. Go through it. Go right again. Go down to the bottom and go right again. Keep going right until you get a missile tank. Now go left and fight the first mini-boss, the burrowing worm thing. 1-6. *Mini-boss* This guy is really easy. Avoid him when he comes down and shoot him in the eye with missiles. Shoot the spikes to get missile and health refills. If you miss too much, he runs away to fight you again. You can encounter him in a lot of places in Brinstar, so don't worry if he gets away. Take your charge beam and go through the left door. 1-7. Go up until you see a red door on the right. Open it with a missile and go inside. Keep going right through the next two rooms. In the next room, jump up a level and then jump to the left to find a secret area. Shoot the nest thing to death and collect your prize, a missile tank. Go right and kill the other two nest things. Go through the right door and go right through the next room. In the next room there is another missile tank in the first pillar and an energy tank on a pedistal. Keep going right. 1-8. Go down a screen and to the left to get the map if you want it. Go up as far as you can and take the left door. Kill the enemies and continue through the top left door. Use the morph ball to keep going and enter the left door. Collect your bombs. Use the bombs in the lower passage to go to the room on the left. Use bombs to collect the missile pack. Go back to the chozo room. HURRAH!! The REALLY BORING part is over. Section 2 (The fun really begins in Brinstar) 2-1. Head right to the previous room and destroy the T-block with a bomb. Kill the parasites with bombs and go right to the shaft. Your first challenge with bomb jumping awaits. 2-2. Bomb jump up to the left legde coming from the wall. In morph ball form, sit on the edge of the ledge. Bomb jump all the way up. This is harder than it sounds because there are two zoomers floating across the passageway. From the top, head left and activate the chozo statue. Keep going left and get the obvious missile pack on the way to the left door. SAVE HERE. 2-3. Go left and kill the enemy. Shoot the cieling until you find a spot you can shoot all the way through at. Bomb jump up through the hole and go right. Wait for the blocks to reappear and get ready. Time to diagonal bomb jump. Use the diagonal bomb jump to get on the ledge on the left. Don't worry if it takes you a lot of tries. You will eventually get it right. Once on the ledge, shoot the cieling out again and bomb jump up again. Kill the enemy and go left. The next room is a very tough room. First off, walk up to the plant things and wait for the parasites to eat them. Then, kill the parasites. Bomb jump over the wall and go down to the lowest platform above the acid. Bomb jump up to the platform up on the left and go into the pit. Bomb jump up and out of the pit before the floor disintigrates. Go left into the next pit and just hold left. You will fall onto the next platform. Bomb jump to the foating platform and then to the next one. Bomb jump up to the high platform on the left before the block disintigrates and go left. Fall through to the left, it's safe. Bomb the obvious block to release the parasites and let them destroy the plant. Go left through the door and collect your well earned Varia Suit. It may have been hard to get, but getting it this early will help a lot in Norfair, Ridley's Lair, and Kraid's Lair. If you fall into the acid at any time, run to the right and get out fast. 2-4. Go right and fall into the acid. Shoot the floor until a hole appears. Go in the hole, croutch, and shoot left to reveal a tunnel. Go through to get an energy tank. Go all the way out to the room where you did the diagonal bomb jump and go left to a vertical shaft. Go down until you find a door on the right. Go through it and the entire next room. In the small room bomb the floor. Fall through the hole and to the right. Bomb the left wall of the "box" holding the missile tank and jump back up. Roll into a ball, off the edge, and into the hole. Jump your way back up and out. Go left to the previous vertical shaft. Go all the way down and then all the way to the right. Use the elevator to enter Norfair. Section 3 (The incredible feats performed in Norfair and Crateria) 3-1. After coming down the elevator, go down, then all the way left. From there go up and use the elevator. Once in Crateria, go right until you find a room with water. Jump in and shoot out the blocks to get a missile tank in the left wall. Get out of the water and use the platforms to get to the top-left. Head up and go all the way right. Get the unknown item and use it to destroy the glowing blocks. Get the missile tank on your way out. The top left wall is destructable for those who can't get out of the hole. 3-2. Go out the left door and then up in the next room. From there go left and up and use the door in the chozo's mouth. Walk left and fall through the floor. Shoot the left wall until a hole appears. Go inside and keep shooting blocks to make a path. Take the top path with the morph ball. Get your power grip. Go back to the right and wait for the giant chozo statue to rise. Use the power grip to climb up and use the left door at the top. Continue through the next room. Fall all the way down in the really big room. Use the right door at the bottom. Continue to the right through the next room. Use the elevator and return to Norfair. 3-3. Go all the way down in this shaft and use the bottom right door. Continue through the next area and collect the missile upgrade. Go back to the left and use the upper right door in the vertical shaft. Go through this room again and pick up the missile tank on the way through. Keep going right until you reach a vertical shaft. Go up and use the highest left door you can reach. Go through and collect the missile tank with the power grip. (Doesn't the Varia Suit rock) Go back to the right and out the door. 3-4. Go down one screen and use the left door. Go left until you reach another chozo statue. Get the ice beam. Keep going left through the tunnel and then go up in the vertical shaft. Activate the chozo statue in the middle of the next room and forget about where it wants you to go. Keep going right until you reach a room full of zoomers. After you make it over the wall there will be an overhang. The block second from the top on the left side can be destroyed to reveal a missile tank. In the next room walk right slowly. Destroy the fire enemy and freeze the zoomer on the left side of the room. If you walk slow enough you will activate the fall through blocks without falling through. Stand as far to the right as you can and shoot the top block on the right wall with a missile. Jump into the hole you made and roll through, dropping bombs as you fall. A hole should open in the right wall. Wall jump or bomb jump up into it. If a hole doesn't appear bomb jump up until one does, then go in. Bomb your way through but don't fall down. Fall out but unravel into normal Samus and catch the ledge. Shoot up and destroy the ceiling block. Wall jump up and then fall down the right hole. 3-5. Keep falling and falling and falling until you hit the ground. There is a missile block at the end of the tunnel on the left. Shoot it and go through. There is a missile tank up on the left. Get it and shoot the block behind it with a missile. Climb in and go up and to the left. Lay a bomb and the ceiling will open. Jump through. Shoot the wall on the right. Wall jump up the shaft on the right and collect the missile tank on the way. After you get out of the shaft enter the door on the left. Go through the next room and get the high jump boots. Use the tunnel on the bottom and enter the room on the left. 3-6. In this room use bombs to get in the top tunnel then go left and stand up. Jump over the lava and freeze the jumping enemy in the next lava pit. Go through the left door. In the next room keep going left until you are next to a lava pit. Bomb up and then convert to a diagonal bomb jump by moving a little left and holding right and down after the next bomb shoots you off. After you make it up the wall. Fall down on the left and go through the door. This next enemy takes ten missiles. Keep going left after he is dead. In the room after the save room, walk all the way left without opening the door. Shoot up with four missiles and a hole in the ceiling will open. Wall jump up and go through the door on the left. Freeze all of the enemies in here and go into the next room. Collect the screw attack. Go back and destroy the enemies and the blocks around the missile tank. Get the missile tank and go back right and down with the screw attack. 3-7. Fall through the floor on the right and enter the left door. Go through the next room. In the vertical shaft you can go through the missile door and get the map if you want it. Go all the way down in the next shaft and use the bottom right door. Go through the next room. In the small room, destroy the floor with bombs and enter the bottom right door. Go through this room and collect the two missile tanks. One is obvious but the other is in the left wall of an overhang. Go back to the small room and use the top right door. Go right through this room. In the next small room destroy the floor again with bombs. Go through the bottom left door and continue through this room. In the next room collect your wave beam. Now, go all the way back to the high jump room because this path is cut off with a speed boost block. 3-8. From the high jump room go right all the way and jump up into the tunnel on the top right. Go all the way down and use the bottom left door. Destroy the vines and keep going left. Some vines take missiles to destroy. In the next room we fight our second miniboss. 3-9. **Miniboss** This guy is really easy. Just use any means necesary to shoot off all of the vines holding him up. After he falls go right and use the elevator to enter Ridley's Lair. Then come right back up into Norfair again. Go left and the last miniboss will have left. Go down the hole back into Ridley's Lair. Section 4 (Ridley's Lair) Yes, I know it belongs after Kraid's Lair. 4-1. **Miniboss** Imago is the next miniboss. Just follow the path, fall through the floor, and walk to the left. Shoot him in the butt with missiles and the charge beam. There is one safe spot where you will never get hit. It is at the bottom of the hill. There is another spot where you will get hit half of the time. It is all the way to the left. Just keep blasting him with missiles and don't be afraid to trade hits. Again, not too hard. After you beat him, collect the super missile tank and exit to the right. Shoot the rightmost floor with a missile and fall through. There is a save point to the right if you want to use it. 4-2. Go to the left and enter the next room. In this room, you have a choice. You can fight all of the enemies if you want or you can bomb the floor between the entrance and the first wall. Follow the tunnel until the end and bomb again. Either way, keep going to the left. In the next room walk slowly. The middle of the floor isn't even there. If you stand over it you will see it disappear. Jump for the energy tank. If you miss go to the left, up the shaft, then back to the right. After you get it, fall down and follow the path left. In the heated room don't use the screw attack. It will go through the floor. Then go down in the shaft, collect the obvious missile tank, and enter the door on the right. Get the map. Go all the way right in the next room, collecting obvious missile tank on the way. In the shaft, Go up to the second door on the left and enter it. Keep going left until you jump over two sets of destuctable floor. The center pipe in this area is fake. Jump down it with the screw attack and morph ball to the left. Destroy the fake floor with a bomb and bomb the lower right corner to find a missile tank. Go back up the pipe and continue to the left. 4-3. In the next room bomb the top of the tunnel to get up into the room. Collect the missile tank and jump up into the crevace on the left wall. Lay another bomb and go up further. Use a super missile to open the wall on the right and use a bomb to destroy the blocks in front of you. Shoot the remaining block to get a super missile tank. Go back down and out the left door. Kill one of the orb things and freeze the other at the bottom of the wall. Jump on him using the morph ball. Then, unravel and jump up to the missile tank then down to the door on the left. If you fall, go all the way to the right and you will be back in the shaft from before to start all over. Either way, enter the top left door when your done. 4-4. Keep going left until you find a super missile tank. In this room, jump at the overhang to the right and you should grab on. Pull yourself up and continue up to the next room. Shoot the conspicuous block in the middle of the room to get another missile tank. Go to the left. In this room, go into the tunnel and grab the left edge in the shaft. Jump to the right edge, then up to the top. Grab the missile tank. then fall down and unravel in mid air. Shoot the right wall like crazy and grab on to the new ledge. Quickly roll inside and grab the missile tank. At the bottom go inside the cannon and lay a bomb to activate it. Go back to the room with the false floor. Fall through and use the left door. Keep going left past Ridley's room. Collect the unknown item and shoot the block to the left. Walk through the wall behind it to get an energy tank. On your way out, use the statue to recharge. In Ridley's room, walk all the way to the right, then look left. 4-5. **Boss** It's our first boss (HUZZAH!!). At first, shoot all of the fireballs he shoots at you. Then, get underneath him and stay there. Just shoot straight up with missiles and super missiles. He will fall shortly. If he catches you, take advantage of it and pummle him with missiles. If he does the tail stab thing, roll into a ball and avoid it the best you can. 4-6. After Ridley, go left to recharge if you want to then go right. Use the bee thing as a stepping stone in the next room. Keep going right until you get to a green room. Bomb the floor near the step to reveal a hole. Jump in and get the energy tank. Shoot the right wall and keep going right. In the shaft go all the way up and use the top left door. In this room, freeze the bee thing at near the top of your jump near the left wall. Use it as a stepping stone to get up to the missile tank. Then just head left. Shoot the bottom left floor with a missile and screw attack into the hole. Morph ball through the tunnel and out the left door. Go up the elevator and back to Norfair. Section 5 (The short trip to Kraid) 5-1. The wall on the right will fall. Go through it and the door on the right. In the next room, ignore the broken chozo statue and keep going right. Screw attack the wall to the right and use the cannon to shoot up into the room with the vines. Go right two rooms and then up the right side of the shaft. On a ledge on the left of the shaft, shoot the wall on the left with a missile. Shoot the block below it too and go through. Use the cannon. Go back down the shaft to a door on the left. Use the door. In the next room free the enemy in the lava and use him as a stepping stone to reach the missile tank above. From there go to Brinstar. 5-2. Go all the way left. In the shaft, go up to the first door on the left. Use it and continue through the next room. Go down the shaft until you find a hollow ledge on the left. Get on top of it and lay a bomb. Go inside and destroy the enemies. Go all the way to the left and fall through. Destroy the enemies and go underneath the platform they were on. Fall through and collect a missile tank. Go down and out the tunnel on the right. Continue down the shaft to the bottom and go left. Keep going left until you reach a large overhang. On the other side of the overhang, shoot the ceiling until you see an energy tank. Grab it and keep going left. In the next room, bomb the floor and fall all the way down. Go through the door on the right and go down the elevator to Kraid. I told you it was short. Section 6 (Kraid's Lair) This area will be so easy with all of our upgrades. 6-1. Right now we are in the room I will refer to as the main shaft. Go down to the first door on the left and into the save room. The left wall of the save room has a hole in it. Morph into a ball and jump against it. Get the missile tank in here and go back into the main shaft. Go right across the hall into the top missile door. Go through the room and collect the obvious missile tank. In the next room, bomb the far right floor and fall through. Use the cannon. Climb up the left side by jumping from wall to wall. Enter the top left door and go all the way to the left. Screw attack down the shaft and hold right. Go through the tunnel and the door. In the next room morph ball in the slot to activate the ziplines. Shoot the red button to call the zipline and ride it across. You should get an energy tank on the way. Go through the right door and the save room. Fall through the floor in the next room and use the lower left door. Go through the next room and prepare to face another miniboss. 6-2. **Miniboss** The acid worm is almost too easy with all of our powerups. First get super missiles out and use the zipline. The acid worm will shoot up out of the acid. Shoot his heart with the super missiles. He will go back down. When he is about to come back out he will shake. When he does, jump on the zipline and pummel his heart with super missiles. Rinse and repeat. If he raises the acid level just stand there. We already have the Varia Suit. 6-3. After the worm is no more, screw attack down the hole where he was. Go all the way to the left and shoot the top left wall. Go through the tunnel and get the missile tank. Get back up and use the left door to leave. Use the cannon and go all the way right. Fall down to the tunnel then fall down the tunnel holding left. Climb up into the tunnel and follow the path to another missile tank. From there go back to the main shaft again. 6-4. Use the door second from the top on the left side. Go all the way left, then up the shaft. Use the door on the right. Follow this room all the way around to one screen up from the starting point. The enemies in here only take one hit from the screw attack so dont worry. Enter the door on the left and fall down the pit to collect your missile tank. 6-5. Go down to the floor on the left and bomb it. Fall all the way down and use the door on the right. Continue though the next two rooms. In the next room destroy all of the enemies and bomb the floor underneath the pillars. Use the cannons to destroy the pillars. Use the zipline to go left and collect a missile tank. 6-6. From there go back to the left one room and bomb the wierd looking floor. Fall through. Now, do it again. Go to the right side of the room and shoot the cieling. Go through the tunnel on the right to get the unknown item. 6-7. Go left and use the tunnel in the ceiling to go left. Continue to the room above and use the door on the right. Go through the next room and the save room to the small room with the funny looking floor. Bomb the floor and fall in the hole shooting and holding to the left. You should grab the ledge on the left. If you don't, just go up to the right and around. From there go to the left until you find Kraid. 6-8. **Boss** This guy is really easy with super missiles. Shoot his eye with a charge shot and then shoot his mouth with super missiles. Watch out for the claw attack and the fingernail clippings he throws at you. After he destroys the platform entirely use the giant spikes to get high enough. 6-9. After you beat him go to the left and bomb your way in. Get the speed booster and stand against the lower left wall. Run right and stop for nothing. Keep shooting as you run. After you get to the second room charge the shinespark. Move three blocks from the right wall. Jump straight up. Use the lower left door. In this room just go all the way to the left and shoot the bottom of the left wall. Collect the missile tank and go back to the shaft. Use the top left door this time. In this room carefully jump onto the destructable platform and then on to the zipline. Shoot missiles rapidly to the right after the enemies start to follow you and you shouldn't have any trouble with them. Enter the door on the left and go all the way to the vertical shaft. Go right across. In the next room destroy all of the enemies and get on the platform with the red button. Lay a bomb on the red button and move to the left to avoid the explosion. As the zipline passes over you to the left jump into it in ball form. It will take you to another missile tank. Go back to the main shaft. Go up two screens and use the missile door on the right. Run to the right and jump at the end of the floor to open up an energy tank. Use the zipline to get back. Go all the way up and out of Kraid's Lair to Brinstar. Section 7 (A quick item collecting run) 7-1. Go left from the elevator and stand on the raised floor at the bottom of the shaft. Bomb the floor here and activate the cannon that appears. When you reach the top hold left and go into the tunnel to get another missile tank. 7-2. Go right until you reach a shaft. Go up three screens. You will be across from a green room with an uncollected item in it. With the morph ball jump on the right wall. In this room go right and lay a bomb. Collect the missile tank and exit to the right. From here go to Norfair. 7-3. Go left into the next room a little at first then run right. Don't stop for anything until you start to boost. Then charge the shinespark and shoot it to the right. Hold right and start shooting after the gray blocks. In the far right room you will go through the floor. Go through the left door and go to the left. In the room through the left door you need to destroy the walls with the screw attack but push up before you touch the lava to stop the screw attack. Collect the missile tank in the top of the last pillar and then go into the room to the left. Jump into the small tunnel near the ceiling and lay a bomb to the left. Jump out and run left. When the wall in front of you disappears jump to the floor on the left and collect a super missile tank. 7-4. Return to the shaft on the right with a speed boost going. Burst through the floor. From here return to the room with the high jump. Go left and continue to the large room. Use the screw attack to clear all the debris and charge a speed booster running left. Jump before you fall off the edge and you will sail through the wall and over the pit. In straight lines go all the way to the left, all the way down, and to right until you get to the room after the speed booster blocks. Get beneath the worm creature and shoot it's belly with the wave beam. Go up through the now clear passage. The next worm creature is a little different. Lay a bunch of bombs in front of him right before he charges. Rinse and repeat until he dies. Shoot the ceiling as you exit to reveal an energy tank. Destroy the missile block guarding it, get it, and exit to the right. Enter Ridley's Lair. 7-5. Just a few pick-ups here. Go to the left bottom corner and enter the door on the right. Go through the map room to the long room. Shoot the ceiling at a diagonal to destroy a part. Jump in there and charge a shinespark running from right to left. Jump down, shoot the door, and use the ramp near the door to start running again. Go left through the map room and in the next room fall to the bottom. Stand against the right wall and run into the next room. Charge a shinespark next to the left wall. Jump up and continue through the maze. Once you have to shoot a missile block behind you. Once you see a missile tank below you go to the right and unravel as you fall. Shoot and hold to the left. Roll across and get the missile tank. Roll back to the right and grab on the ledge in the middle. Shoot up with missiles and then jump up to the next ledge. Do this again and then shoot a missile up and jump to get another missile tank. Get out of this room and go to the right side of the really long room. 7-6. There is another flat area towards the ceiling at this end. Charge the shinespark from left to right. Go into the save room on the right and use the save pedistal to start running again. In the room to the right charge it again and jump up to a floating platform on the right. Shinespark to the right. In this room charge the shinespark from left to right into the next room. With a charge go under the wall and shoot up on the other side after unrolling. Grab the left wall and roll in the tunnel. Lay a bomb and then go left under the large wall in the center. Unroll and jump up to the ledge above you. Then jump down to the ledge on the left. Right before this ledge disappears jump to the left side of the block above. When you can make the jump to the wall do it. Roll in and down to collect your missile tank. It is a lot easier said than done. 7-7. Now charge the shinespark to the left and in the next room shoot it up at the funny looking ceiling. Go into the right door then come right back. Start running to the right and fire in the next room a lot. Destroy the missile block before you hit it. Right before you hit the indestructable blocks jump and you should make it all the way to the missile tank. 7-8. Go back to the shaft by running left the speed booster. Then exit Ridley's Lair to Norfair. Exit Norfair to Brinstar. Go where we fought the first miniboss the first time. Go up against the right wall and run left. In the next room charge the shinespark. Go back to the right, shoot the door, and roll into a ball at the bottom of the hill. Use the shinespark to the left. When you hit a ramp in the room with zoomers hold down to charge it again. Go to the bottom of the hill and shoot left again. Collect the super missile. 7-9. Go right to the shaft. Go up to the first door on the right and go to the other shaft. Go all the way up this shaft and jump up to the area in the upper left. Go in the tunnel and collect the missile tank. Lay a bomb where it was and fall through. Go out the left and go up one screen. Use the door on the left and go all the way to the elevator on the left. We now enter Tourian. Section 8 (Finishing the original Metroid) 8-1. Now that we're in Tourian the difficulty will pick up a few notches. This area is about as straight-forward as they come. Just follow the rooms. To kill metroids: freeze them and shoot them with five missiles or one super missile. 8-2. When you reach the third save room, go left one room and fill up your supplies. Go left again and destroy the barriers with 7 missiles. Watch out for the donuts and energy guns. 8-3. **Boss** Shoot the glass with missiles until it breaks. Then shoot the eye with super missiles. Again watch out for the donuts and energy guns. Mother Brain has an eye beam this time. Everytime you do five missiles of damage or fall below the level of the platforms Mother Brain will shoot it. To avoid it jump from the right to the left platform. 8-4. Now that Mother Brain is dead, get your butt out of there. Go left and then all the way up the shaft. Use the elevator and follow the path through Crateria. The final wall to your ship has to be destroyed with the speed booster. Jump in your ship and you will take off with a cut scene. Congrats! We beat the original Metroid. Now let's finish Zero Mission. Section 9 (Suitless Samus v. The entire Space Pirate army) 9-1. Well, we don't have a suit. This sucks. We need to go get a new one right away. I am not going to detail this part. This area is as straight-forward as they come. You have to shoot the ball when the wierd pattern appears. After one hit a hologram appears and moves around the center and lightning will try to strike you. After two hits the hologram moves around the edges. After three hits the lightning will strike the center and travel on the ground. Stand in the center after four hits and get your fully powered suit. Section 10 (The final item run) 10-1. Space jump out of this room and go to the bottom. Shoot a missile to open the floor. Run to the right to get a super missile tank. Charge the speed boost and jump to the next floor. Shoot it right into the ramp and charge it again. Jump up and charge again. Jump up and charge again. Jump up and charge again, but this time in the next room. Destroy the blocks with the screw attack and jump down to the left. Charge it again. Jump down to the right and fire it off to the right. You will fly over a couple of rooms and get an energy tank. Go back and up to the last place you charged it at. Shoot a missile at the top left wall and enter the tunnel. Get the missile tank and go back out. 10-2. Go all the way down and screw attack left into the next room. Screw attack into the lava and go right into the tunnel to get a super missile tank. Go all the way left and then down. In the L shaped room use bombs and the morph ball to go into the room on the right. Shoot the left wall to reveal a super missile. Use a missile to destroy the block in front of it. Then go back to the space ship and go all the way up to the left. It will look like a cockpit. You have to go the hangar on the right first. Then up a little and to the left. 10-3. When you get there go in the hole on the left. Follow the pirate. In the next room space jump over the trip lasers to get the power bombs. Use one to open the door on the right. Go in and lay another one. It will reveal another room with pirates and more power bombs. Now, time to go back. On the way use the yellow door for a shortcut and get another super missile tank. Go right and through the next room. In this room shoot the ceiling to find a hole. Shoot the block that's left with a missile and go up. The robot will move if you shoot him and you can force him different ways with missiles. Get the super missile tank. Go to the first save point in this area. Go into the room you crawled under and shoot the ceiling to reveal a super missile tank. The block below it is a missile block. Go right until you get to the screen with a circle in it on the map. Go up on the ledge and lay a power bomb. Go left through the power bomb for a shortcut back up. Now go to the room with the glass hallway (the first green room on the way to the ruins. Lay a power bomb and wait. After the glass breaks go down to the right and lay another power bomb. Run to the left and then to the right. Shoot up from the top of the pedistal to get a power bomb tank. Go back down and left. Go across the big room and lay another power bomb on the left wall. Go in and jump down. 10-4. Go in the left door and go left until you find a small room. The center of the ceiling isn't even there so jump on in and make your way up to the top right. Shoot around to find a super missile tank. Go back down and to the left. A couple of power bombs will reveal a lot in here. Get the super missile tank and go out the left door. Go out into crateria and from the water room go up through the hole in the ceiling. Use the screw attack to get out then go up and use the door to go back to chozodia. In the first room of chozodia shoot the left wall to find a power bomb tank. And shoot the block in front of in with a missile. The bottom right floor block also takes a missile. The end of the tunnel takes a power bomb. Go back to the shaft near where we got our suit back. Go in the door above the one you used to get here. In the top tunnel on the right. Shoot the middle ceiling block with a missile and then a normal shot. Get the power bomb tank. Now, go back to crateria. You can use the lava room shortcut. 10-5. In crateria speed boost to the left and charge it outside the door. Jump up and shoot it right to get a super missile tank. Charge it again and fall to a platform on the right. Roll into a ball and shoot it to the left. Get the missile tank and fall into the water room. Use the door on the left and lay a power bomb. Go back to the right and run to the left. Don't stop for anything. When you get back to the room where your ship used to be charge it. Roll into a ball and shoot off from the top of the hill to the upper left. It may take a few tries to get the aim right. The rest of the blocks will go with a power bomb. Go back for another charge. This time use it to go back into tourian. Use a power bomb where mother brain once stood (sat, rested, floated?). Then use a super missile on the spot it says to. Go in the hole to get a power bomb tank. Go right into the next room. Run left and do a space jump through mother brain's room. In the next room continue through the right wall. Lay a power bomb and collect your missile tank. 10-6. Go back to crateria and follow the path until you find a large brown rock. Lay a power bomb and follow the path to brinstar. Go to Kraid's Lair. Go in the second door on the left. Go to the third acid pit and jump in. Destroy the blocks and charge a shinespark. Roll into a ball and shoot it to the right so you hit the ramp and start rolling again. When you get the missile tank hold down to charge it. Bomb the odd block and then shoot up. Go right and then down to the next door. Go all the way right and jump against the wall in the save room. Go through and lay a power bomb. Continue right to Norfair. Use a missile on the bottom block to get into the room. Use the lower right door and go all the way right. Shoot the left side of the floor to go down. Then go left and get the super missile tank. Hang off the left side of the pillar and shoot left to reveal a tunnel. Take it and charge a shinespark as you get the missile tank. Shoot right to get back. Go up and charge a shinespark to the left now. Fire it in the obvious spot to get back to the earlier room. Go left to the shaft and go down into the lava. Find the missile spot in the floor and fall through. In the next room, go up to the ledge and shoot the third block from the bottom with a missile. Go through the tunnel and collect the power bomb tank. Go back and then up. Bomb beneath the missile tank and then fire a missile up before the blocks close on you. Go back up and grab it. Exit out the top and go to Kraid's Lair. Go back to Brinstar and find the starting point. Use a power bomb to find a cannon. Fire it and go back to Chozodia from the water room in Crateria. 10-7. Go right until you find a diagonal room filled with crab things. Destroy them all and run to the right. Charge the shinespark in the shaft and fire it straight up in the center. You should go up into the next room and collect an energy tank on the way. From there, go all the way back to the cockpit area. Go up towards it and in the small room run back to the left and jump with the speed booster going. You have to land in the middle of the raised ground. Now, jump back up and get a shinespark charged near the hole. Jump down. Jump off towards the trip laser. About one block above the bottom, shoot the shinespark to the right. You should fly all the way to the energy tank. Go back and up. Time for a 100% check. You should have 1299 energy, 250 missiles, 30 super missiles, 18 power bombs, and all the suit upgrades. Go back to save and go all the way right in the passage we just left. 10-8. **Boss** Mecha-Ridley is not an easy boss by any means. I'm going to detail him differently than the rest. During the whole battle stay to the left. Stage 1: Shoot the glass covering the red spot on his chest with missiles. You have to jump up to be able to hit it. He has three attacks. The claw swipe does the most damage. To avoid it space jump at the top or croutch at the bottom. To avoid the fireballs space jump in the middle of the left wall. To avoid the missiles destroy them with shots or the screw attack. They drop pick-ups. After a few hits the glass will break. Stage 2: Shoot the red spot itself with super missiles now. You still need to jump. He keeps the missiles and claw swipe but replaces the fireballs with a laser. To dodge the laser you have to keep moving and have quick reflexes. He will eventually break and a message will appear telling you that you have so many minutes to escape. 10-9. Run to the hangar as fast as you can. The black pirates can be easy or hard to defeat. If you lure them up and shoot diagonally down while standing on the ledge they will just sit there and fire at the wall while you kill them. If you jump on down they will fire back and actually be a challenge. Either way go to the ship and destroy the pirate in it. Jump on in. Congratulations!!
