"Everything you liked about SimCity 2000, in a handheld."

When Sim City 2000 came out for PC in 1995, it was hailed as one of the best sim of all time. Then in 2003, when it was announced that Sim City 2000 would be coming to the GBA, many people were excited. Many people wondered, could they pull it off accurately? I'm here to say, yes, yes they could.

Game Play: The game play is just like it was originally. You have to build a successful city. Sometimes that will be a very easy task. Sometimes it won't. You just have to try and make your city a successful as possible.

There isn't really a story as such. You're the mayor of a newly formed city, that's yet to be built. So you build up the infrastructure, and provide places for people to live, work, and shop at. You can make your own stories. Like, for example, seeing if you can make a city the size of the map, in a fifteen years.

There is an enormous re-playability factor involved in this game. It would be nearly impossible to build the same city twice.

Graphics: The graphics of Sim City 2000, are very clean and crisp, compared to other GBA games. When zoomed in fully, everything looks clear and completely recognisable. I've heard some people complain that this game isn't very good because the ground is completely flat. Well, this game is on the GBA, and I doubt the GBA would have the necessary power to produce good looking mountains and hills. Overall, a graphically impressive game.

Sound: The sound in this game reminds me of the original game. The only soundtrack in the game is the one played through out the menus. And it is in no way annoying. All of the sound effects, constructing a house, laying a road, fire, and so on and so forth, have all been taken directly from the PC version. And they sound great.

Value: If you like any of the Sim City series of the PC, then this game is a must have. If you want a fun, portable game to play on the go, this is the one you'll want.

Rent or Buy: Totally buy. This game will give you hours of classic Sim City fun, while on the go. And besides, it can't cost that much anymore. Now you have no reason not to buy this excellent Sim City classic. You won't regret it.
