Pokemon FireRed Version
Question from BowserZero
Asked: 4 years agoHello, I haven't played Pokemon in ages. [ Last played Crystal Version. ] With all this, Platnium, Diamond & Pearl non-sense I decided that I might want to buy Firered or Leafgreen to try the ol pokemon game out. Why one of these two versions? Because I like the Kanto - Johto pokemon better then the 2 other regions they brought/made up.
So I'm asking if Fire Red or Leaf Green is worthy of purchase. If so why? What rares can you get in this game? [ If any. ] How much would they sell for used or unused? And lastly, do you think they're good Pokemon games coming from you the players?.
Just like Red and Blue, the main differences are how often certain pokemon appear, which pokemon are exclusive to each version, and which color and pokemon appears on the "Press Start" screen (but they don't start randomly showing pokemon anymore after a few seconds).
In both versions, the story line is the same, the trainers are the same, and if you choose the same starter in either version, your rival has the same pokemon when you fight him every time. The wild legendaries (Suicune, Entei, Raikou) are the same assuming you choose the same starter. You only get 1 of these per version though (Bulbasaur=Entei, Charmander=Suicune, Squirtle=Raikou). And they still run just like in GSC... *Mewtwo CAN be caught with an Ultra Ball*
Mewtwo is still brooding in the Unknown Dungeon, which has been renamed Cerulean Cave and uses the Japanese map of RBY's Unknown Dungeon. Ho-oh and Lugia can be traded via the Gamecube Pokemons or through events like Mew, Celebi, and Deoxys (though the events have passed and you'll likely never see non-hacked versions of the 3 previosly mentioned pokemon).
Personally, though I dislike the color green, I recommend LeafGreen because it offers better pokemon like Magmar, Sandslash, Starmie, and the rare Sneasel.

statusYou should defiently purchase the games. The rare pokemon that you can get in this game are Mewtwo, Entei, Suicune, Raikou. EXTREMELY rare pokemon are mew, deoxys, lugia, ho-oh, and celebi. But it's not all about the rare pokemon. There are other great pokemon is this game. I NEVER regreted getting this game. Personally, it's one of my favorite pokemon game.
If you need more help then you might want to look at an FAQ on this.
It'll tell you everything you need to know in detail.
Hope this helps.
