"Reliving the good old memories!"
The Legend of Zelda was first released in 1987 on the NES system. The game was astounding and wonderful. It opened a whole new genre to the gaming community. Now Nintendo has re-released this wonder classic game on the GBA...UNTOUCHED. The entire game is EXACTLY the same as it was on the old NES. The game even slows down like it did on the NES whenever there are more than 6 enemies on the screen! Here is my review of the Classic NES series game The Legend of Zelda!
(NOTE: I will rate the game on how it was on the original NES like the graphics etc.)
The graphics are wonderful. The world map is colorful and the enemies differ from each other. The animations are fluid and the world map is quite large with lots of secrets and many areas to explore.
Awesome! Playing this game on the GBA is exactly like how it was on the NES. The animations, the slowdowns everything is here! The dungeons as well as the bosses enemies are the same as they were before. Nostalgia will strike you in the heart when you play this game! The game's difficulty is unchanged, the enemies are still tough. You can use the NES walkthrough for this and finish the game completely.
Save Princess Zelda! Its the same as the old ones. Young Link heads out to get the Triforce pieces and defeat the evil Ganon to save Princess Zelda and the land of Hyrule. This storyline was quite amazing in the 8-bit days.
All the classic tunes are still there. No new music or sound effects were added.
Rent or Buy?
BUY BUY BUY! This is a wonderful game that should not be missed. If you have played the old Zelda games then you will love the portability and the fact that you don't have to blow in the cartridge to get it to work. If you haven't played this classic then you should rent this game and check it out because the graphics, music and the gameplay are quite outdated compared to today's standards but the game is still harder than 90% of the games today. I highly recommend this.
