"Control issues really ruined this great game!"

Okay, I've had played a few games I never got too far in the gameplay, and this is one of them. Nintendo booked this game in for the GameBoy Advance in 2005 to be in use of the Tilt Sensor. I'm sorry to say, Nintendo, this game is not so good.

The story is very confusing when I started this game. Bowser is after the Egglings for some reason. He decides to turn them into apples so they wouldn't escape. You have to help some spirits who will help you towards Bowser if their needs are made. It just feels so confusing. Where have I heard the Egglings before? It's just that the story can get misleading at times.

The graphics looked great. This is a perfect example of what your GameBoy Advance can really do. Yoshi looks cute and the rest are fantastic and solid.

The music is great, but I haven't got any good tunes from this game. It's just great and generic at the same time. The closest I can think of was great was the Speed's theme. I thought that was the best soundtrack in the entire game. The other sounds were average. Nothing but Yoshi's voice was heartwarming. It was just generic to me.

Really, the controls are just awful. But what do I mean awful? The control assignments are fantastic and they responded real well. It's the Tilt-Sensor that's giving me a bad time. It's tilts can cause problems such as making you move when I don't want to and killing me on purpose. Seriously, I lost countless lives because of the Tilt-Sensor alone, especially in the harder levels!

For the gameplay, you need to get the Spirits' requests completed to move on to another world. It's not just going to the end of the level this time. This time, you really need to look around to find what you're looking for. While that was great, I ended up dying so much trying to finish the request on the harder worlds.

The only boss I've encountered so far was Bowser. Man his field was hard. Because of the bad controls of the Tilt-Sensor, I never got pass this place at all! And that was when I stopped playing this game. For a while.

Because I never got this far to complete a majority of the game, I'm guessing that you can beat this game in 10 hours if you tolerate the controls better than I did. Unless you're after the Egglings to fill up your book, I can't think of any other reason to replay the levels.

Yoshi's Topsy-Turvy is a good game with an interesting concept. Since this is Nintendo's first try with that Tilt-Sensor, it's passable that they improved it in the near future. While the gameplay and music is flawless, the controls are a real pain to try and master. I'm afraid you should rent this if this is your first Yoshi game. Otherwise, out of consideration, rent this game first. And if you found much more fun with this game than I did, buy it now.
