FAQ Information This is an FAQ created by me to help all those who acquire this game, SpongeBob SquarePants: Lights, Camera, Pants, for the Game Boy Advance so you can successfully beat the game! Minimal information has been inputted into the guide and it seems to abide by GameFAQS standards. Preceeding versions will have much more detail on each stage and getting through each one. May also add a further section about the Shop (Gill's Trailer) in the next version. Mini-Games may also be added. Version 0.51 - Forgot to fill in information in Thank You section. (Whoops...). Is now filled in. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5. Starting Out/ Mermalair Intro: The game starts off with Gill worried whether or not the new episode of “The New Adventures of Mermaidman and Barnacleboy” will air as both Mermaidman and Barnacleboy have gone missing. You are required to find both of them and bring them back to the set! Gill has also vowed to give out roles if you perform well so keep this in mind when you are progressing through the game! Overall Difficulty: **/***** __________________________________________ Mermalair – World 1.1 Difficulty: ** Enemies: Jellyfish, Clams In this first mission, you must try to find Mermaidman and Barnacleboy as instructed by Gill. Be sure to catch up on your basic skills in this stage to prepare for later levels. __________________________________________ Mermalair – World 1.2 Difficulty: *** Enemies: Jellyfish, Clams With an unsuccessful attempt, you must, again, try to find Mermaidman and Barnacleboy. Will you succeed? Hopefully, cause Squidward's already getting tired of this wild goose chase. __________________________________________ Mermalair – World 1.3 Difficulty: *** You must chase Mermaidman and beat him to finish line in this level. Be sure to use the right character to beat him to the finish line successfully. __________________________________________ Mermalair – World 1.4 Difficulty: ** Best Combo: 54 (I got distracted…) Your first boss and encounter with Manray! The D-Pad, R, L, A and B are all used. Like the DDR games, as a button appears to the top of the screen, you must press it with sufficient timing to avoid getting attacked. A pretty neat boss battle if I do say so myself! If ever frozen, must press a button on time to break effect. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 6. S.S Rest Home Intro: The second stage has you finding out the whereabouts of Mermaidman at the Shady Shoals Rest Home. Once you find him, however, you may need further aid to bring Mermaidman to his senses once you learn of his whereabouts. Beware, though, the Flying Dutchman is also on the lookout for Mermaidman as he apparently has something of the Flying Dutchman’s! Watch out for the pirates scattered throughout each of the levels for they are quite tricky and dangerous. Overall Difficulty: ***/***** __________________________________________ S.S Rest Home – World 2.1 Difficulty: *** Enemies: Jellyfish, Clams, Pirates Simply go on the lookout for Mermaidman who is lost at the end of the level. Watch out for new enemies throughout the level. __________________________________________ S.S Rest Home – World 2.2 Difficulty: ** Enemies: Jellyfish, Clams, Pirates You must try to reach the end of the level where the Conch Shell is located. You must get to it to help Mermaidman get his senses back. __________________________________________ S.S Rest Home – World 2.3 Difficulty: *** With the Conch Shell blown, you must now locate Manray who took advantage of Mermaidman's senselessness, for lack of a better word, and now you must chase him. Crash into his Raymobile 5 times to complete this stage. __________________________________________ S.S Rest Home – World 2.4 Difficulty: **** Your second encounter with Manray. He plans to step up his skills a bit and he certainly does. This battle is much more tougher. Same controls except this time, two buttons may appear simultaneously and you'll need to press both to avoid an attack. Even after this, even more button sequences similar to that will continously appear to get you to stumble. Be careful. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 7. Goo Lagoon Intro: The third stage has you trying to protect Mermaidman and Barnacleboy from various obsessed fanatics as you slowly try to make your way back to the set. However, other troubles await you at the beach whilst you try to make your way back to the set. Overall Difficulty: **/***** __________________________________________ Goo Lagoon – World 3.1 Difficulty: ** Enemies: Fanboys, Jellyfish There are no stars in this level. You must simply run away from the Fanboys. If you take too long, they will run over you and you'll lose a life! Watch your step and be sure not to fall through gaps that may appear by surprise if you are running (too fast). __________________________________________ Goo Lagoon – World 3.2 Difficulty: ** Enemies: Jellyfish, Robot Coral, Pirates, Clams, Giant Clam, Robot Seaweed The fanboys have totally made SpongeBob lose Mermaidman and Barnacleboy! Looks like you'll have to find them AGAIN!! __________________________________________ Goo Lagoon – World 3.3 Difficulty: ** You must help a little kid by saving his sand castles from the antics of two Thugs who got nothing else better to do than bother little kids (o-kay....). Anyway, on that note, you are equipped with a Blanket, for lack of a better word, that you must use to deflect volleyballs the two thugs throw at the sand castles. The objective is to protect the sand castles whilst also deflecting the volleyballs onto the Thugs to damage them. Each Thug has three lives and for each hit to them you make, a Star will come flying down to you and if you totally deplete a Thug's health, 3 Stars will come flying down to you. To get them, you must use the Blanket but don't let them distract you from getting the all important volleyballs! __________________________________________ Goo Lagoon – World 3.4 Difficulty: *** You must race to the set as you have now found Mermaidman. With all the crazy events happening, you only have 2 minutes to get to the set before they start filming. Reach the goal in 2 minutes to clear the stage but watch out for rival boats, red barrels, and coral along the road. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 8. Sound Stage Intro: You’ve finally arrived on the set, but with the Flying Dutchman still chasing Mermaidman and the sound set having its own technical difficulties, starting to film the episode may take longer than Gill may have expected, in addition to a finale no one was expecting… Overall Difficulty: ****/***** __________________________________________ Sound Stage – World 4.1 Difficulty: **** Enemies: Jellyfish, Pirates, Giant Clam, Clams The set's lights have now been turned off, which puts a dent in Gill's plans to start filming. You must quickly turn all lights on and rush to the exit so you can finally start filming! __________________________________________ Sound Stage – World 4.2 Difficulty: *** Enemies: Pirates Well, now that the lights are back on, SpongeBob and the others notice Mermaidman is nowhere in sight. Now you must seek to find Mermaidman one final time. Try keeping him in your sight so he doesn't get lost so there won't be a "next time". __________________________________________ Sound Stage – World 4.3 Difficulty: *** Enemies: None With all this running around, all the crew members are starving! If you don't make food for them, they may quit (after all that work?!). You must make 5 Krabby Patties in a span of 2 Minutes. __________________________________________ Sound Stage – World 4.4 Difficulty: ***** The final main stage. You finally made it to the set but, things don't go as planned. As Gill shows SpongeBob and the others the special prop for the final scene, the building starts to collapse and the prop loses its balance! You must run away from the prop/rolling ball which is definitely easier said than done. I strongly suggest to NEVER switch to Squidward in this level. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 9. Final Stage Intro: You can finally start filming! Use the characters you were assigned roles with to perform tasks in the episode. If you’re good enough, you may even be able to capture the Sneaky Hermit! Overall Difficulty: ****/***** __________________________________________ Mini-Game 1 – Lunch Rush! Difficulty: *** This game features the Waiter Role that Gill promised you from the Mermalair level. Simply create 5 Krabby Patties in a span of 3 Minutes. Pretty easy. __________________________________________ Mini-Game 2 – Dodge Debris! Difficulty: *** This game features the Stand-In Role. Role that Gill promised you from the S.S Rest Home level. Like the Manray Boss Battles, as button sequences appear towards the top of the screen, quickly press them to avoid being hit by falling debris and rubble. I find this easier than fighting Manray, though. __________________________________________ Mini-Game 3 – Get Downtown! Difficulty: ** This game features the Police Officer Role that Gill promised you from the Goo Lagoon level. Simply use the police boat to get to the finish line in 3 minutes. Pretty easy, surprisingly. __________________________________________ Mini-Game 4 – The Final Chase! Difficulty: **** This game features the Lookout Role that Gill promised you from the Sound Stage level. The final level involves that you guide Mermaidman and Barnacleboy to avoid junk the Sneaky Hermit is trying to throw behind to stall the two heroes. Quite hard but it's not impossible to beat 'cause I have beaten it once. Guide the two heroes left and right along the road using the D-Pad to avoid rubble. Overtime, the speed of the falling junk will increase and it may even start to corner in on and/or home in on you! Be careful! __________________________________________ Mini-Game 5 – Escape the Cop! Difficulty: ***** This final stage has you button-mashing the A Button to escape the Police Officer who is ready to place you under arrest. You must try to survive as long as possible as signified as the media, Mermaidman and Barnacleboy all oversee the battle. It is practically IMPOSSIBLE for you to win! I don't even know if it's even POSSIBLE for you to win, thus, the Difficulty rating I gave. After clearing this, you're done the Main Game!! Watch the Credits and notice your reward awaiting you at the end of the Credit Roll... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 10.
