         This walkthrough will be based on the Pokemon Gold version (just felt like
    saying it). I am writing this walkthrough as I progress in the game, and I
    should say that I really take my time playing it.

    the game or made a mistake feel free to email me about it at
    Medusa450@yahoo.com.

    3) Walkthrough (Johto)
    =============================================================================

    ==================
    3.1) NEW BARK TOWN
    ==================

         Here you will begin your new pokemon journey. Once you turn on your game
    you will be asked for the time by Prof. Oak, which then also explains to you
    the world of pokemon. Now you're in your room, head downstairs where your mom
    gives you your Pokegear. She will then ask for the day and then you can be off
    on your way. Head left to where you see a big building and enter it. That's
    prof. Elm's lab. He will ask for a favor, which is to go visit Mr. Pokemon to
    pick up an item for him, and then he will give you your starter pokemon.

    ---------------
    Starter Pokemon
    ---------------

         * NOTE: There is no pokemon better than the other! It all comes down to
    preference (which in my case is Cyndaquil).

    Chikorita: A good grass pokemon who needs a little more time to train than the
    other 2 but learns an element type attack at an earlier stage than the other
    starter pokemon.

    Totodile: The water type is quite useful in the first part of the journey and
    has a powerful rage attack that he learns at level 8.

    Cyndaquil: My favorite! This fire type is quite useful for the first few gym
    leaders and areas. And also upgrades quite at an early stage.

         Once you receive your pokemon Elm's assistant will give you a potion, head
    out. You will notice some red haired boy spying in the window. Talk to him
    and he will give you a good shoving. There you have met your Rival!

    --------
    Route 29
    --------

    ITEMS: Potion, Berry, Pink Bow(Tuesday)

        Continue on West through route 29 where you will fight wild pokemon and
    meet people (not trainers). You will notice a gate to your right, you can go
    through it if you want but you won't be able to go far. On your way you will
    see a man standing beside a tree. Approach it and presses A, you will get a
    Berry (See Berry Locations for details).

    NOTE: Check 'Miscellaneous Section' for details on Pink Bow.

    =====================
    3.2) CHERRYGROVE CITY
    =====================

         Cherrygrove city has a Poke Mart and a Poke Center but no gym. First talk
    to old guy as you enter the city. He will give you a tour of the place, for
    free of course. Talk to him again in his house and he will give the map for the
    Johto area.

         There is nothing much to do here except to build up your starter pokemon.
    You cannot bye Pokeballs...YET! Head north and onto Route 30.

    --------
    Route 30
    --------

    Items: Berry

         You will notice a house with a tree beside it. Go inside and talk to the
    man. He will tell you about the healing properties of berries and then will
    give you one. You will also find a berry in the tree beside his house.

         Continue on north, you can either continue right or left, if you choose
    right your road will be blocked by 2 trainers having a pokemon battle. Head
    north from your left and you eventually encounter another house. Go inside!

         Here you will meet Mr. Pokemon, he will give a mysterious egg to take to
    prof. Elm. Then you will meet Prof. Oak who will give you your pokedex. As you
    exit the house you will receive an urgent call from Prof. Elm. urging you to
    return to the lab on the double. Head back to Prof. Elm to give him the egg and
    see what's up.

         Better heal your pokemon before you get out of Cherrygrove City and head
    to the lab. WHY? You will meet your rival at the same spot where the tour old
    man was standing.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    RIVAL (BATTLE 1)
    ----------------

    Pokemon: Weakness of your starter pokemon Lv5

         Don't worry if your pokemon is Lv 6 or 7 it will be fine, your opponents
    pokemon doesn't know any element attacks so it's going to be an easy victory.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

         With no more interruptions head to the lab! Prof. Elm will be standing
    with a police officer, talk to them and the officer will ask you to name your
    rival (Be creative). After that is all over you will hand in the egg to Elm. On
    your way out the professors assistant will give you 5 pokeballs. Now you will
    be able to buy pokeballs at any Pokemart.

         Heal your pokemon and head back to route 30. There you will notice that
    the pokemon battle is over and the road is no longer blocked. Here you will
    meet your first Trainer to battle with named Youngster: Joey. Once you beet him
    talk to him again and he will ask for your number.

    NOTE: The trainers I mention by name are those that you save their phone number
    so they can call you back for a rematch, give you valuable information or
    simply chitchat. (not ALL trainers take your number)

    --------
    Route 31
    --------

    Items: Bitter Berry, Pokeball, TM 50/Nightmare

         Continue on North until you encounter a cave entrance. This is DARK CAVE
    which you need flash to enter it (You will do the Dark Cave MUCH later in the
    game so ignore it for now)

         Talk to the man beside the berry tree, he won't do much for you now but
    keep him in mind (LATER: A guard in the guard house between Goldenrod and route
    35 will give you mail to deliver to this guy, after you give it to him he'll
    give you TM 50 Nightmare).

         Pick up the Bitter berry and the item, fight Bug Catcher: Wade and the
    other trainer and head through the gate to reach Violet City.

    ================
    3.3) VIOLET CITY
    ================

         This is the first city you will visit that has a gym leader and a whole
    mess of things to do. For starters right next to the pokemon center there is a
    house who has a trainer that will trade you an Onix for a Bellsprout. Catch a
    Bellsprout in the grass before the gate you entered.

    (NOTE: Check Pokemon location Section for details)

         At the far end of the town you will find a tall building that's the Sprout
    Tower and your first task to finish. Enter it!

    ------------
    Sprout Tower
    ------------

    Items: Paralyze Heal, X Defend, Potion, Escape Rope, HM 05 FLASH

         Once you enter talk to all the people there to get familiar with the
    place, and use the stairs to get to the second floor. Here you will fight a
    Monk who uses bellsprouts, actually all Monks in the Bellsprout Tower use only
    Bellsprouts. Defeat him and use the other staircase which will take you back to
    the first floor to an area you couldn't reach from the entrance. Again here
    you will fight another Monk, once you defeat him go to the stairs after him
    which leads back to the second floor. Another Monk to fight and another
    staircase that takes you to the third and last floor. There are several
    Monks(3) and the Elder. You will see your rival for a moment then he will
    leave (guess he didn't feel like battling). Beat the Elder and he will give
    you HM 05 Flash. Exit Tower!

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Violet City Gym
    ---------------

    Gym Leader: Falkner
    Badge: Zephyr Badge
    Pokemon: Lv 7  Pidgey
             Lv 9  Pidgeotto

         There are 2 trainers and the gym leader to fight, they all have flying
    types so if you don't have an electric type(which is the case) use a rock type
    which is your best bet. If not try using a strong rattata.

         Pidgey and Pidgeotto are a piece of cake (with the right pokemon of
    course). Once you defeat Falkner he will hand you your Zephyr Badge which will
    allow you to use Flash outside of battle, and you'll receive
    TM 31 Mud-Slap.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

         Once you exit the gym prof Elm will call you telling to meet his assistant
    at the pokemon center. The assistant will give you the pokemon Egg you
    previously delivered to Elm. Keep it in your party it will only hatch if it's
    with active pokemon. (You probably guessed what's inside if not watch the
    cartoons once in a while)

         Now head south to route 32 and then east(left) and through the gate to the
    Ruins of Alph.

    -------------
    Ruins of Alph
    -------------

         You will find many cave entrances where some you won't be able to reach
    yet. However there are 2 entrances that you can. Ignore the first one you
    encounter and head up north to the other one and enter it. Inside you will have
    to complete a puzzle of a Kabuto. Start with the edges and work your way
    through once completed the floor below you and you'll drop in the ruins. There
    is a mysterious presence! Yes but not mysterious just a pokemon named Unown,
    there 26 differently shaped Unowns, catch at least three different shapes and
    exit the ruins (find the stairs). Looks familiar? This is the entrance I told
    you to ignore. Anyways once your outside a scientist will take you into his lab
    and upgrade your pokedex so you can keep track of all the different Unown
    shapes you catch. Now got back to Route 32.

    --------
    Route 32
    --------

    Items: Miracle Seed, TM 05, Potion, Great Ball, Poison Brab(Friday), Old Rod

         Head south and talk to the first person you encounter, if you have the egg
    in your party, he will give you Miracle Seed.

    NOTE: Later in the game, come back to this area when you have CUT and you
          will be able to reach this man who will give you TM 05 Roar.

         You will encounter two trainers who will ask for your number,
    Picnicker:Liz and Fisherman:Ralph.

    NOTE: Check 'Miscellaneous Section' for details on Poison Barb.

         Right next to the pokemon Center a guy will want to sell you something for
    oh let's say 1 000 000!!! Don't worry it's nothing important just ignore him.
    Enter the pokemon Center and talk to the man with the fisherman hat, he will
    give you the Good Rod. Now you can catch Magikarps.... and if your lucky maybe
    some other types of fish. Now go out and enter the cave south of the pokemon
    center.

    ----------
    Union Cave
    ----------

    Items: Potion, Hyper Potion, Great Ball, X Attack, X Defend, TM 39/Swift,
           Awakening, Ether.

         You won't be able to explore all of the Union Cave without Surf and
    Strength. All you can explore is the first floor and a little bit of basement.
    Anyways head through the cave battling all the trainers. It's practically
    impossible to get lost on the First Floor, reach the other end of the cave and
    exit.

    --------
    Route 33
    --------

    Items: Poisoncure Berry

         There is nothing here to do except battle trainer Hiker:Anthony and
    register his number. Continue on until Azalea Town.

    ================
    3.4) AZALEA TOWN
    ================

    Items: White Apricorn, Lure Ball, Hive Badge, TM 49/Fury Cutter

         As you enter Azalea Town you will notice a Rocket member blocking the
    entrance to the Slowpoke Well. Ignore him for now. After the Pokemon Center
    you will find a house with a tree behind it. Enter that house and meet Kurt (a
    pokeball maker/designer), he will mention that Team Rocket are cutting off
    Slowpoke tails and selling them then he will dash off to the Well to teach them
    a lesson...Follow him back to the Slowpoke Well. The Rocket standing there was
    scared off by Kurt allowing you to go inside. Enter it!

    -------------
    Slowpoke Well
    -------------

    Items: Super Potion, King's Rock, TM 18/Rain Dance

         Once inside you will meet Kurt who is injured and unable to face Team
    Rocket. Guess who's going to face them?! YOU! So fight all four Rocket
    members. Once that is done they will 'Blast Off again' and Kurt will come and
    thank you. He will then take you back to his home and reward you with a Lure
    Ball (which is used to catch water pokemon with it). If you bring Kurt
    different Apricorns he will make different pokeballs for you. Behind his house
    you will find a White Apricorn in the tree. Give it to him and come back the
    next day and he will give you a Fast Ball.

         Now head to the Gym to fight Bugsy!

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Azalea Town Gym
    ---------------

    Gym Leader: Bugsy
    Badge: Hive Badge
    Pokemon: Lv 14 Metapod
             Lv 16 Scyther
             Lv 14 Kakuna

         There are exactly four trainers to fight before the Gym Leader. Most of
    the trainers carry bug type pokemon, if you have a fire type or a flying type
    it will be an easy victory.

         Bugsy's Metapod and Kakuna are simply a joke! The pokemon that might be a
    threat would be Scyther. His Fury Cutter attack doubles in strength when it's
    used continuously so take him out fast.

         After you defeat Bugsy he will reward you with the Hive Badge, which gives
    you complete control over pokemon up to level 30 and allows you to use Cut
    outside of battle. Also he will hand over TM 49/Fury Cutter.

         Head to the Pokemon Center and heal your pokemon to prepare for your
    second battle with your rival. As you head towards the gate your rival will
    stop you and challenge you.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    RIVAL (BATTLE 2)
    ----------------

    Pokemon: Starter(evolved) Lv16
             Gastly           Lv12
             Zubat            Lv14

         This time you Rival has pumped up his team so it won't be very easy.
    Again he will have your starter pokemon's weakness who has evolved to it's
    second form. If he has a:

         Quilava ---> Fight him with a water type such as 'Wooper'
         Bayleef ---> A flying or fire type would defeat it easily.
         Croconaw ---> An electric type or a grass type is great.

         Gastly can be easily killed with an Electric type pokemon or even a
    pokemon with a ground type attack (Geodude: Magnitued at Lv16)

         Zubat is a poison/flying type so here too an electric type pokemon will
    deal nicely with this foe. (Mareep: Thundershock at Lv9)

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

         Before you leave the town go visit the house next to the Gym, the man
    inside will tell you that his apprentice is missing. You will look for him in
    the Ilex Forest. So now head to and through the gate and enter Ilex Forest.

    -----------
    Ilex Forest
    -----------

    Items: HM 01/CUT, TM 02/Headbutt

         You will meet the man's apprentice in the forest, he has lost his boss's
    Farfetched and wants you to find it for him. Simply follow the tree paths and
    you will come across the runaway bird. Talk to him to scare him in the right
    direction and lead him back to the apprentice.

         Once that is done, his boss will come and thank you for your effort. He
    will then reward you with HM 01/CUT, which will allow you to cut the little
    bush just close to where the apprentice is standing.

         Make your way through the forest but before you head west and exit the
    forest head east and meet a man who will give you TM 02/Headbutt. He will
    explain to you that any pokemon with that move will be able to headbutt tree's
    where some pokemon might be hiding. Now head back west and exit the forest
    through the gate.

    --------
    Route 34
    --------

         Here you will battle a couple of trainers and register Picniker:Gina's and
    Camper:Todd's phone number.

         Also you will notice a house, that is the Daycare where they will raise
    pokemon for you. The good thing is that they can raise up to 2 pokemon! Which
    also means you could breed them there. The guard standing beside the daycare
    won't battle you during the day only at night.

         Continue on North and into Goldenrod City!

    ===================
    3.5) Goldenrod City
    ===================

    Items: Radio Card, Bike, Golde Berry, TM 21/Frustration, TM 27/Return,
           Plain Badge, TM 45/Attract, Squirtbottle, Eevee.

         Welcome to Goldenrod City (this city is the equivilant of Celadon City in
    Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow). Here are the descriptions of the city.

         As you enter you will have the Poke Center to your left and the Department
    Store to your right. Right above the Poke Center is the Game Corner, Bill's
    House is the one left closest to the fence, the other house below the man
    standing is the entrance to the underground path. Left of the Department store
    are 2 house, the one further down is the Bike shop, the other one there is
    woman who lives there who rates your pokemon (meaning it will tell you if the
    first pokemon in your party is happy or not). OK! Now right before the railroad
    tracks there is the City Station and the Radio Tower (where the rocket member
    is standing). Across the train tracks, the house to your left has a namerater
    inside (He will rate the name of the first pokemon in your party and give you
    the option to change it's name). Further left there is another entrence to the
    underground path. Now to your right is the Goldenrod City Gym, the house near
    the green area, the woman inside will give you a Squirtbottle after you beat
    the gym leader.

         Now to your first task, head to the Radio Tower, talk to the third person
    behind the counter and do the quiz. If you get all the questions right she will
    reward you with the Radio Card. The man in the middle behind the counter is in
    charge of the Radio Contest. What is it? Every week they choose a number and if
    that number matches your pokemons ID then bring that pokemon and show it to him
    and you will win a prize. You can look around if you like but you won't be
    able to much here now. Exit the tower.

         Next head the Department Store, talk to everyone if you wish. A person on
    the Fourth Floor will activate the Mystery Gift Option (on your Start Menu)
    when you speak to her. On the Fifth Floor someone will trade a Drowzee for a
    Machop, the Machop you get will be holding a Golden Berry which restores 30HP.
    On that same floor a woman comes here every Sunday and hands out 2 TM's
    depending on your pokemon (the first in your party) mood. Meaning if your
    pokemon is happy and likes you she will give you TM 27/Return, and if your
    pokemon is grumpy and unhappy she will give you TM 21/Frustration.

         Now head to the bike shop, the man inside will give you his phone number
    and will lend you a bicycle to attract customers. (Later on when he tells you
    sales are going up you can delete his number).

         Head to Bills house, he is not here but his mom and sister are, they will
    give you his phon number which enables you to see how full is your current box
    in Bill's PC. Later: Once you meet Bill in the next town come back to his
    house, he will give you an eevee.

        Check out the Underground path if you'd like, there are very few trainers.
    In that path you will meet certain people depending on the day of the week. On
    Monday Mornings, there is a Bargain Shop open, this man will sell you one of
    each item (if you have the money) where you can resell it and make a profit.
    From Tuesday until Sunday you will meet 2 haircut brothers who will cut the
    hair of only one of your pokemon per day for either 300 or 500 depending which
    brother you encounter. On Saturday and Sunday the Kanpo is open, this old lady
    will sell you herbs at cheaper prices (That are very bitter, your pokemon won't
    like it).

         In the underground path you will find another path leadong to a locked
    door, that section will be done much later in your adventure.

         You can explore the city further if you want, now head to the gym.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Goldenrod City Gym
    ------------------

    Gym Leader: Whitney
    Badge: Plain Badge
    Pokemon: Lv 18 Clefairy
             Lv 20 Milktank

         As usual fight all the trainers in the gym. Most of them have normal type
    pokemon so a rock or fighting type would do well.

         Whitney's Clefairy is not a weakling and can be a challenge if her
    metronome came out with a powerful attack. Your machop and geodude would be
    perfect for this gym leader's pokemon.

         Milktank's rollout can be dangerous if it's successful every turn cause it
    get's stronger. Take it out fast with a fighting type pokemon.

         Once your victorious Whitney won't hand you the badge right, she will
    first cry like a baby. Talk to the trainer right below you then talk back to
    Whitney. She will stop crying and hand over the Plain Badge and TM 45/Attract.
     Now you will be able to use Strength outside of battle.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

         Head to the house next to the gym, the woman inside will give you a
    Squirtbottle. What's it's purpose, when you visit or visited route 36 there is
    a strange tree blocking the road. Using the Squirtbottle on it will bring it
    to life. It's Sudowoodo at Lv20(A Rock type) this is the only one in the game
    so you must not miss!

         You can stay a little bit and play the games if not head north and inside
    the gate. Talk to the guard inside the gate, he will ask you to take a pokemon
    holding mail to his friend on Route 31 (Remember the guy i told you to keep in
    mind, who was standing beside a berry tree). You must have an empty slot in
    your party for the delivery pokemon. Once you hand the pokemon with the male
    to the man he will give TM50 Nightmare, go back to the guard and he will thank
    you and give you HP UP. Now exit the gate.

    --------
    Route 35
    --------

    Item: TM 04/Rollout, Mystery Berry

         This route is simply full of trainers to battle. You will register
    Juggler:Irwin's phone number(the one with the voltorbs), and Bug Catcher:Arnie.
     You will also notice a Berry Tree on the other side of the water, once you
    have surf you will be able to pick it up. The guard next to the gate won't
    battle you during the day only at night. Head into the gate.

         If the day is Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday, the man inside will be
    standing near the door. You have reached the National Park Entrence and on
    those particular days there is a Bug Catching Contest. It's free to enter and
    you only enter once per contest day. In order to enter talk to the man and he
    will enter you, you are allowed to bring one pokemon with you(pick someone who
    can stun, put to sleep or poison) that will help you catch the pokemon, simply
    chose your pokemon and put him first in your party.

    -------------
    National Park
    -------------

    Item: Paralyze Heal, TM 28/Dig, Quick Claw

    BUG CATCHING EVENT:

         Once you are entered in the contest you will recieve 20 parkballs, you
    have 20 minutes until the contest ends, it can also end if you run out of
    parkballs or if your pokemon faints.

    Here are the pokemon you can catch only in the tournament(in BOTH versions):

    Name          Level
    ----          -----
    Caterpie      7 - 18
    Metapod       9 - 18
    Butterfree   12 - 15
    Weedle        7 - 18
    Kakuna        9 - 18
    Beedrill     12 - 15
    Paras        10 - 17
    Venonat      10 - 16
    Scyther      13 - 14
    Pinsir       13 - 14

         You can keep only one pokemon at a time, meaning that if you caught a
    pokemon and then caught another one you will have to choose which one to keep.
    Once the contest is over the judge will decide which of the contestents got
    which prize and you may keep the pokemon you caught.

    PRIZES: 1st place -----> Sun Stone
             2nd place -----> Everstone
             3rd place -----> Golde Berry
             4th place + ---> Berry

         To win first prize you have to catch the strongest pokemon such as Pinsir,
    Butterfree and Beedrill, but that does not guarentee first place!!! After the
    contest is over you can explore the park and fight the trainers around.

         Check out the benches, you will see a girl with pokemon beside her, talk
    to her and she will give you 'Quick Claw'. There are 2 trainer phone numbers
    you will get here, Schoolboy:Jack and Pokefan:Beverly (who has a LV 14
    Snubbel). Before leaving the national park you still need to get 2 items
    behind the fences. How? In the north part of the park there is a gap in the
    fence where a kid is standing, go through the gap and to your bottom right you
    will get a Paralyze Heal and all the way to the other side you will get TM 28.

         Now exit the park through the other gate.

    --------
    Route 36
    --------

    Item: Ice Berry, Weird Tree, Sudowoodo, TM 08/Rock Smash,
          Hard Stone(Thursday)

         Get the Ice Berry to your left, then fight both trainers there
    (Schoolboy:Alan). Once you encounter the Weird Tree save your game. Use the
    Squirtbottle on it, and Sudowoodo will attack you. He's at Lv20 and a rock
    type, weakin it and disable it then capture it. Once that's over the path will
    be cleared. Go left and talk to the man standing there, he will give you TM
    08/Rock Smash. On Thursday's Arthur will be in this area and he will give you
    Hard Stone (which increases power of Rock-type attacks).

         Now head the other way (Left) and onto route 37.

    --------
    Route 37
    --------

    Item: Red Apricorn, Blue Apricorn, Black Apricorn, Magnet

         Before you fight the twins head to the grassy area to your right, you will
    find 3 Apricorn trees. In that same spot you will met Sunny on Sunday's, and
    he will give you Magnet(which increases power of electric-type attacks). Now
    fight the twins and the other trainer and continue on North to reach Ecruteak
    City.

    =============
    3.6 ECRUTEAK CITY
    =============

    Item: Item Finder, HM 03/Surf, Fog Badge, TM 30/Shadow Bell

         Welcome to Ecruteak City, home to the 3 legendary creatures and Ho-Oh!
    Your first task is to meet Bill at the pokemon Center. Once you meet him, he
    would tell you the Time Capsule is fixed. You won't be able to use it yet, you
    have to wait until the next day. Once Bill leaves you can head back to
    Goldenrod at any time and visit his home, he will then give you Eevee.

         Next head into the house right above the Poke Center. Inside there are 5
    Kimono girls that you will have to battle. Each one has a different eevee
    evolution and all at Lv17. Once you beet them the old man will give you HM
    03/Surf.

         Heal your pokemon and head North-West to enter the Burned Tower and meet
    your Rival for your 3rd Battle.

    ------------
    Burned Tower
    ------------

         Item: Burn Heal, X Speed, HP UP, TM 20/Endure

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    RIVAL (BATTLE 3)
    ----------------

    Pokemon: Starter(evolved) Lv22     Fire/Grass/Water
             Haunter          Lv20     Ghost/Poison
             Magnemite        Lv18     Electric/Steel
             Zubat            Lv20     Poison/Flying

         Once again your Rival want's to bully you around. His team has grown an
    extra member and alot tougher.

         Take out his starter the same way as in the previous battle

         Haunter can be taken out by Psychic pokemon(Drowzee:Confusion Lv18) easly
    because he is also poison type, also an electric type would do well.

         Magnemite's combination of electric and steel is quite annoying because
    very few types can defeat it. Use a Fire or ground type to take him out fast.

         Zubat can be taken out by a fire, psychic or electric type very easliy.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

         you wont be able to do much in the burned tower, every black area is a
    hole that will take you to a different corner in the basement. If you hve
    Strength you can move or crush the bolders and drop down the middle hole where
    you will meet the three legendary creatures Raikou, Entei and Suicine. They
    will quickly run away and will wander around Johto Randomly (Check Rare Pokemon
    section for details).

         Head to the house next to the gym, the man inside will give you an Item
    Finder.

         Now onword to the Gym!

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Ecruteak City Gym
    -----------------

    Gym Leader: Morty
    Badge: Fog Badge
    Pokemon: Gastly     Lv 21     Ghost/Poison
             Haunter    Lv 21     Ghost/Poison
             Gengar     Lv 25     Ghost/Poison
             Haunter    Lv 23     Ghost/Poison

         This gym's floor is a trap if you step in the wrong spot it will bring you
    back to the start. To avoid that walk right in front of the first trainer, once
    beaten trun your back at him and walk 3 steps towords the wall, turn left and
    walk straight to the other trainer. Then turn around and walk straight 4 steps
    again towords the other wall and then to the other trainer. You have noticed
    the patern as long as you are one step away from the walls and in the trainers
    eye sight you fine. (Im not sure if my explanation has cleared things for you
    or confused you even more... oh well).

         Morty's uniq choice of Ghost/Poison type pokemon makes your selection
    easier. To take out all of his pokemon use psychic and ground types. Don't be
    fooled by his pokemon they can be tricky, better bring some awakening with you
    just incase.

         Once the Gyme leader is defeated he will give you the Fog Badge which
    allows you to use Surf outside of battle, and you will get TM 30/Shadow Bell.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

         Beside the water there is a house, once yu aquire the Fog Badge you will
    be able to enter the tunnel that will lead you to the Tin Tower. Once you
    enter the tower a man will block your way, you can only enter if you have the
    Rainbow Wings. Why is this tower important, on the top floor lies Ho-oh
    Lv40(Gold) and Lv70(Silver). you'll do the tower much later.

         Now head to the Western gate and exit Ecruteak City an onto route 38.

    --------
    Route 38
    --------

    Items: Berry

         Nothing but trainers, battle them and aquire Chad and Dana's phone
    numbers.

    --------
    Route 39
    --------

    Items: Mint Berry, TM 13/Snore

         You will encounter the Moomoo Farm on this route, the problem is their
    Milktank is sick, enter the barn next to the house and help make it better give
    it lot's of berries. Once it's healed go the house and talk to the man he'll
    give you TM 13/Snore and now you'll be able to by Moomoo Milk.

         Head south on route 39 fight all the trainers and enter Olivine City.

    ================
    3.7 OLIVINE CITY
    ================

    Items: Good Rod, HM 04/Strength, Mineral Badge, TM 23/Iron Tail

         Once you enter the city you Rival will come out of the gym and talk to
    you. He won' battle you this time, he's simply telling you that the gym leader
    is not around which is true. Jasmine the gym leader is taking care of a sick
    pokemon in the Lighthouse.

         Before you head to the Lighthouse enter the house next to the Poke Mart,
    the man inside will give you the Good Rod which will allow you to catch a more
    variety of water pokemon and at higher-levels. Next head to the house next to
    the Poke Center, the sailor inside will give you HM 04/Strength, which allows
    you to move rocks and boulders in caves and other places.

         If you want a Voltorb, use your Good Rod and catch a Krabby. The man in
    the house to the top right of the Poke Mart will give you his Voltorb for your
    Krabby (There no Voltorb's in the wild in Johto).

         Exactly south of the Mart is the entrance to the S.S Aqua docks, you won't
    be able t board the ship until you get the ticket later in the game so ignore
    it for now.

         To the right you will find a tall building, it's the lighthouse, Enter it.

    ----------
    Lighthouse
    ----------

    Items: Ether, Rare Candy, TM 34/Swagger, Great Ball, Supe Potion.

         Inside the light house you will battle many trainers, most of the trainers
    have water and flying type pokemon so if you have an electric type pokemon
    it'll be a peace of cake.

         There are no trainers to battle on the first floor so find the stairs and
    head to the second floor.

         On the 2F, you will battle two trainers, Sailor: Huey will ask you for our
    number. Head to the 3F.

         On the 3F, you will notice that there is a trainer you can't reach, you
    will be able to reach him later. After you battle everyone on this floor head
    to the 4F.

         Don't go left yet first battle the trainers and go around to find the
    other stairs to 5F.

         On the 5F fight the trainer and pick up the items and head back to the 4F.
    There drop down the hole beside the girl. Fight the trainer and pick up the
    item. use the stairs, again item, trainer, stairs that leed to the 6F.

         On the 6F you will meet Jasmine will be tending to a sick pokemon, in
    order for her to return to the gym and battle you, you must first go to
    Cianwood City and get the Secret Potion for the sick pokemon. Once you do she
    will return the Gym to battle you.

         Now exit the Lighthouse and head West and onto route 40 & 41.

    -------------
    Route 40 & 41
    -------------

    Items: Sharp Beak

         On route 40 you will meet Monica (Monday) who will give you Sharp Beak
    which increases flying type attacks. If you taught one of your pokemon Rock
    Smash use it on the rocks you see, usually it will be a Krabby but you might be
    lucky and catch a Shuckle. Now surf south on Route 40 battleing all the
    trainers you encounter. You will see four seperate islands, this is Whirl
    Island the home of Lugia. Once you get HM06 Whirlpool you'll be able to pass
    the whirlpools blocking the entrance and obtain the Silver Wings. Now ignore
    the islands and head west on route 41 until you reach shore and onto Cianwood
    City.

    ================
    3.8CIANWOOD CITY
    ================

    Items: Berry Juice, HM 02/Fly, Storm Badge, TM 01/Dynamic Punch

         It's pretty small city, head to the pokemart which is located below the
    house between the Poke center and the Gym. Inside talk to the man, he will
    give you the secret potion that Jasmine needs. Dont leave town yet, since your
    already here might as well beat the Gym Leader right? Head to the Gym to fight
    Chuck

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Cianwood City Gym
    -----------------

    Gym Leader: Chuck
    Badge: Storm Badge
    Pokemon: Primeape     Lv 27     Fighting
             Poliwrath    Lv 30     Water/Fighting

         If you have a psychic pokemon with you this gym will be a peice of cake.
    Once you've faught the 3 trainers you will need strength to reach the fourth
    one and the gym leader. First move the 2 extremity boulders forword then move
    the middle one to the right. A path will be cleared for you so defeat the
    remaining trainer and face the gym leader.

         Chucks Primeape is no problem, simply use a psychic or flying type to
    defeat him. (Kadabra/Alakazam, Drowzee, or Espeon). As for Poliwrath a
    psychic, flying or electric type would be very effective. But you must take him
    out fast before he uses Dynamic Punch which will confuse your pokemon as well
    as seriously hurt it. If your pokemon are at least level 25 you'll do fine.

         Once the Chuck is defeated he will give you the Storm Badge which allows
    you to use Fly outside of battle and pokemon up to level 70 will obey you, also
    you will get TM 01/Dynamic Punch.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

         Talk to the woman infront of the gym, she will give you HM 02/Fly. Head to
    the house next to the gym and make sure you have only 5 pokemon in your party.
    The man inside will give you a Shuckle (Shuckie) cause he's afraid he'll be
    stolen. Come back later and if his Shuckie is very happy the man will let you
    keep it if not he'll take it back. Anyways you can get one by smashing the
    rocks.

         Now head back to Olivine City and give the Secret potion to Jasmine atop
    the Lighthouse. She will then return to the gym and accept your challenge.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Olivine City Gym
    ----------------

    Gym Leader: Jasmine
    Badge: Mineral Badge
    Pokemon: Magnemite     Lv 30     Electric/Steel
             Steelix       Lv 35     Steel/Ground
             Magnemite     Lv 30     Electric/Steel

    	This gym is actually a little tough, not because of the pokemon but because of
    their type, Steel type pokemon are resistant to 11 pokemon types and week
    against only 3 types. These tree types are Fire, Ground, and Fighting. As for
    electric type only Ground type attacks are very effective against them.

         The two magnemites can be taken down very easily with a ground type
    pokemon cause it's duel type is week against it and electric attacks wont' have
    any effect on your pokemon. If you chose Cyndaquil as your starter it's Flame
    Wheel will kill them from the first shot.

        Now! Steelix is the only reason why i say this battle is a little tough,
    this pokemon can only be taken out by a fire or water pokemon. If your pokemon
    has only Ember or Water Gun it wont defeat steelix very fast, the minimum
    requirement is Fire Punch or Surf. But.. one problem though, Steelix's Rock
    type attacks will easily knock out a fire pokemon therefor your only sure
    option is a water pokemon. I used Slowking (check pokemon Evolution Section for
    details) cause he can take a few beatings but is quite slow. Use Quagsire
    (Wooper's evolution) to defeat Steelix.

         Once Jasmine is finally defeated she will give you the Mineral Badge and
    TM 23/Iron Tail.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

         When all that is over with you can head back to Ecruteak City. when you
    arrive their head to the other side and go through the gate and onto Route 42.

    --------
    Route 42
    --------

    Items: Ultra Ball, Super Potion, Pink Apricorn, Green Apricorn, Yellow
           Apricorn.

         If you have surf you can avoid Mt. Mortar and simply cross the water and
    head to the next town while battling some trainers. If you would like to
    explore the cave you can go ahead. There are 3 entrances and you will need
    Flash. you wont be able to explore the whole place nor pick up all the Items
    which out HM07 Waterfall, so it's preferable to let it be for now and come back
    for it later.  :)

         Infront of the Second entrance to Mt. Mortar you can cut the little bush
    and reach three tree's holding different Apricorns. Using Surf again you will
    reach the 3rd entrance to Mt. Mortar and you will find 3 trainers. Fisherman:
    Chris will gladly ask for your phone number. Continue on ahead to reach
    Mahogany Town.

    =================
    3.9 MAHOGANY TOWN
    =================

    Items: HM 06/Whirlpool, Glacier Badge, TM 16/Ice Wind.

         Something strange is going in this town, the Mart is selling weird Items
    and something is happening to the Magikarps at the Lake of Rage. You wont' be
    able fight the Gym leader yet nor exit town from the east on account there is a
    man who will block you and will gladly sell you RageCandybars. So the only
    thing to do is head throuth the northern gate and onto Route 43.

    --------
    Route 43
    --------

    Items: Bitter Berry, Max Ether, TM 36/Sludge Bomb

         There are a couple of trainers to fight, some may be avoided if you use
    the gate on the right. BUT!! with a price, it seems Team Rocket are taxing
    people who use that gate, 1000 to be exact so if you dont want to lose the
    money take the left path and challenge the trainers. LATER: When you defeat
    Rocket's Hideout the rockets will leave the gate and the original guard will
    return, he will give you TM 36.

         Fight all the trainers and register Picnicker: Tiffany and Pokemanic:
    Brent's phone numbers. You see where there are 2 trainers beside each other if
    you continue north you will reach Lake of Rage, but some area's you wont be
    able to reach. If you go left and down where one trainer is then head north
    from behind him (you will need CUT) you will reach the left area of Lake of
    Rage.

    ------------
    Lake Of Rage
    ------------

    Items: Black Belt(Wednesday), Red Scale, TM 10/Hidden Power, Max Ether,
           TM 43/Detect.

         As you enter Lake of Rage(Right Path) you will notice a Red Gyarados in
    the middle of the lake. Surf to it and battle it, wether you catch it or
    defeat it you will still get the Red Sacle it's holding, but i do suggest to
    catch this rare specimen. Once you've caught/defeated him head to shore next
    to the sign you will see a man in a black standing there. That is Lance, speak
    to him and say yes to helping him deal with Team Rocket. Before you head back
    to Mahogany Town take the Left path to the Lake of Rage and collect the items
    surrounding the Lake, there is a house north of the Lake, inside you will get
    TM 10, on Wednesdays, Wesley will be close to the house he will give you Black
    Belt. Later: Once you defeat the Rocket hideout 4 new trainers will appear at
    the lake one in the left path and 3 standing around the Lake.

         Now head Back to Mahogany Town, enter the Poke Mart, you will find Lance
    battling someone. Once he's won a secret entrance to the Rocket's Hideout will
    be opened. Enter it with him.

    --------------
    Rocket Hideout
    --------------

    Items: Hyper Potion, X accuracy, Nugget, TM 46/Thief, Ice Heal, Protein,
           Dire hit, Full heal, HM 06/Whirlpool

         You have entered the secret layer of the Rockets, before going on further
    you will notice a statue, there are 5 of them on this floor to be exact. These
    statues are alarm systems, once you pass it you will battle 2 Team Rocket
    members in a row, they will come back everytime you trigger a statue alarm. you
    can shut it off if you want ( I didn't i found it a usefull way to train my
    pokemon). To shut it off go straight and then left before the statue, after you
    pass the pile of boxes go down and around to reach the PC, fight the man there
    then use the PC to turn off the alarm. The stairs to reach the second floor of
    the basment is at the bottom left of the place. You can either go right and
    then down where 4 boxes are pilled up then left passing a statue and a warp pad
    that takes you to the entrence and right beside it the stairs OR you ca go back
    to where the second statue and Rocket was and head down. But beware, this is a
    trap almost every step you take will cause a hidden pokemon in the floor to
    attack you. Here is a drawing i made that will tell you the exact location of
    the pokemon. Once you defeat the pokemon that spot will be safe to step on, you
    can create a shortcut for yourself or do what i did, battled all of them as a
    form of training. The pokemon you will encounter are Voltorb's, Koffings, and
    Geodude's the annoying thing is they usually use Selfdestruct so be carefull.

    The 'x' means the hidden pokemon:
    - - - - -
    - x x x -
    x - x - x
    - - x x -
    x x x - x
    - x - x -
    x x - x x
    x - x x x

         In the Second Basement you will meet Lance who will heal your pokemon and
    will leave you. The power room next to you cant be oppened except with 2
    passwords enter the boss room then recieve THE password to open the Power room.
     Go straight and Fight the 2 rockets you encounter and use the stairs.

         Go into the office you come by and fight the scientist and then the Rocket
    member who will give you the first password if defeated. Then head left to
    fight another geek and a Rocket member and get from him the 2nd password. Pick
    up the Items you come buy. Use the stairs at the top right.

         go straight, fight the Rocket and use that stair. Before your back to the
    floor where you got the 2 passwords, use those passwords to open the office,
    fight the boss, once defeated talk to the Murkrow and recieve the last
    password. Now head back to the Power room and open it. Suddenly two Rocket
    member will team up against you, but lance comes and makes the fight even. Once
    the last members are defeated you and lance will battle a bunch of Electrodes
    powering the transmitter, he will take one side and you the other. Once that
    is done Lance will give you HM 06/Whirlpool. You have completed Rockets'
    Hideout and head to the Gym.

    Mahogany City Gym
    -----------------

    Gym Leader: Pryce
    Badge: Glacier Badge
    Pokemon: Seel        Lv 27      Water
             Dewgong     Lv 29      Water/Ice
             Poliswine   Lv 31      Ice/Ground

    	This gym has quite the slippery floor, you will have to manoeuver the paths to
    reach each trainer and finally the Gym leader. All trainers have ice type
    pokemon so give them a good melting with a fire pokemon.

         Pryce's Seel can be taken out by an electric pokemon, usually grass types
    can take out water types but seel's aurora beam will knock a grass type before
    it make it's move. So it's better to stick with electiricity.

         Dewgong can be defeated using either an electric type or fire type. I
    suggest a fire type because Dewgongs ice type attacks will have very little
    effect on a fire pokemon.

         Poliswine is a little tough, use a water or fire type against it. Again
    the first choice should be fire but if you want to try water it's good too.

         Once Pryce is defeated he will give you teh Glacier Badge which will allow
    you to use whirlpool outside battle. He will also give you TM 16/Icy Wind

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

         As you exit the gym Prof. Elm will tell you that Team Rocket is up to no
    good at Goldenrod City Radio Tower. Better go there and see what's up...

    6) Pokemon Breeding
    =============================================================================

         What is more exciting than taking care of an egg until it hatches into a
    beautiful pokemon! Pokemon breeding is an important element in pokemon Gold and
    Silver.

         You can breed your own pokemon at the Daycare Center just south of
    Goldenrod City on Route 34.

         Before you decide to breed a pokemon you should make sure of a few things
    such as the pokemon that will hatch will be the same as(or lower level) of the
    female pokemon bred and that some pokemon cannot produce eggs. Also some
    pokemon are always female or always male or even Neutral.

    --------------
    Female Pokemon
    --------------

         Nidoran (F), Nidorina, Nidoqueen, Jynx, Smoochum, Kangaskhan, Milktank,
    Chansey and Blissey.

    ------------
    Male Pokemon
    ------------

         Nidoran (M), Nidorino, Nidoking, Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, Hitmontop, Tyrogue
    and Tauros.

    ---------------
    Neutral Pokemon
    ---------------

         Magnemite, Magneton, Ditto, Voltorb, Electrode, Staryu and Starmie.

    ------------------------------
    Pokemon who can't produce Eggs
    ------------------------------

         Nidorina, Nidoqueen, Nidorino, Nidoking, Unown, Igglybuff, Togepi, Pichu,
    Cleffa, Tyrogue, Smoochum, Elekid, Magby, Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos, Suicune,
    Entei, Raikou, Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia and Ho-oh.

         Now that everything has been cleared out you can now worry which pokemon
    is compatible with who. Obviously any specie with a male and female gender are
    compatible with each other ( Pikachu(F) + Pikachu(M) = Pichu ).

    *What about those with only one gender?*
         Easy you simply put them with a Neutral pokemon! The best one that you can
    get is Ditto. Ditto is the best breeding pokemon because you don't have to
    worry about new attacks or anything. And instead of worrying about catching 2
    pokemon of the same specie simply put any pokemon with Ditto.

    *How long does it take for an egg to be produced?*
         That is really hard to determine! All I know is if at least one of the
    pokemon is of a different Trainer ID it would take far less time than if both
    pokemon were of the same ID.

    *How long does it take for the egg to hatch?*
         This is a little hard to know but it all depends how many steps you walk,
    depending on the pokemon it may take from 1000 steps to 10000 steps. The
    figures below are not very accurate but are a good way to start.

    (These figures have been taken from http:\\www.pokemasters.com)

    POKEMON                                  # OF STEPS

    Magikarp                                    1290

    Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Togepi            2580

    Caterpie, Weedle, Pidgey, Rattata,          3860
    Spearow, Zubat, Geodude, Sentret,
    Hoothoot, Ledyba, Spinarak

    ------------

         The pokemon that you can get only by breeding are:

    Pichu -----------------> Pikachu or Raichu
    Igglybuff -------------> Jigglypuff or Wigglytuff
    Cleffa ----------------> Clefairy or Clefable
    Togepi ----------------> Togetic
    Elekid ----------------> Electabuzz
    Magby -----------------> Magmar
    Smoochum --------------> Jynx
    Tyrogue ---------------> Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan or Hitmontop

    7) Pokemon Evolutions
    =============================================================================

         In this section you will find out information on some special pokemon
    evolutions. Stone Evolutions, Trade/Item evolutions and Happiness Quota
    Evolutions. Oh and a special case evolution with Tyrogue!

    ---------------
    Stone Evolution
    ---------------

         Some pokemon need stones to evolve. You can find most of the stones at the
    sea cottage on Route 25 in Kanto. There you will find Bill's Grandfather who
    will give you stone depending on which pokemon you show him.

    Show him:  Lickitung -------------> Everstone
               Vulpix/Growlith -------> Fire Stone
               Oddish ----------------> Leaf Stone
               Pichu -----------------> Thunder Stone
               Staryu ----------------> Water Stone

        I read somewhere that the grandfather will only give one stone of each but
    I am not sure about that.

    To get the Sun Stone you will need to win First prize at the Bug Catching
    Tournament.

    To get the Moon Stone you can find one on Route 27 inside the cave. But you can
    get more Moon Stones if your lucky your mom will bye you one.

    Fire Stone: Vulpix ----------> Ninetails
                Growlithe -------> Arcanine
                Eevee -----------> Flareon
    Leaf Stone: Weepinbell ------> Victreebel
                Exeggute --------> Exeggutor
                Gloom -----------> Vileplume
    Thunder Stone: Pikachu ------> Raichu
                   Eevee --------> Jolteon
    Water Stone: Poliwhirl ------> Pliwrath
                 Shellder -------> Cloyster
                 Staryu ---------> Starmie
                 Eevee ----------> Vaporeon
    Moon Stone: Nidorina --------> Nidoqueen
                Nidorino --------> Nidoking
                Jigglypuff ------> Wigglytuff
                Clefairy --------> Clefable
    Sun Stone: Sunkern ----------> Sunflora
               Gloom ------------> Bellossom

    --------------------
    Trade/Item evolution
    --------------------

         Some pokemon need to be traded with other trainers to evolve and some need
    to also carry items in that trade to evolve.

    TRADE:

    Trade Machoke ------------> Machamp
    Trade Haunter ------------> Gengar
    Trade Graveler -----------> Golem
    Trade Kadabra ------------> Alakazam

    TRADE HOLDING ITEMS:

    Trade Poliwhirl + King's Rock ------------> Politoed
    Trade Slowpoke + King's Rock -------------> Slowking
    Trade Onix + Metal Coat ------------------> Steelix
    Trade Scyther + Metal Coat ---------------> Schizor
    Trade Seadra + Dragon Scale --------------> Kingdra
    Trade Porygon + Up-Grade -----------------> Porygon2

    NOTE: When you trade the previously named pokemon holding the item, it will
          no longer possess it after the evolution. I made my Slowpoke hold
          King's Rock, then I traded it to another gameboy. After it evolved I
          took it back. When I went to take back King's Rock from it, it was
          no longer with it.

    --------------------------
    Happiness Quota Evolutions
    --------------------------

         What does happiness quota mean? It means that if your pokemon is really
    happy, attached to you and trusts you then it will evolve the next level. To
    know if your pokemon has reached it's happiness quota visit the lady in
    Goldenrod City. Her house is right before the Bike Shop. She will rate the
    first pokemon in your party. Your pokemon will be ready to evolve if she says:
    " It looks really happy! It must really trust you". Any other sentence such as
    " It looks cute " or "... It looks sort of happy", means you got to improve
    your relationship with your pokemon. However this sentence:".... I get the
    feeling it really trusts you" can go either way, meaning that if she says that
    your pokemon MIGHT evolve the next level...

    How to make your pokemon happy:
         1) Get your pokemon's hair cut by one of the Haircut Brothers at
            Goldenrod City's Underground pathway.
         2) Use many Ability Up items on your pokemon (Protein, Carbos, etc.)
         3) Let it hold Items (Berries, potions, etc.)
         4) Keep it in your party as many times as possible
         5) Have your pokemon groomed in Pallet Town by Gary's sister.
         6) NEVER LET YOUR POKEMON FAINT or allow it get very week.
         7) Don't give it bitter medicine or trade it away to another trainer.

    ** Be patient by luck it will evolve very quickly but also by bad luck your
    pokemon might take VERY long time for it to reach it's happiness quota. My
    eevee became an umbreon quite fast but my pichu and other eevee (that I want to
    make an espeon) are taking FOREVER!! So BE PATIENT PLEASE. lol

    Pokemon that will evolve when happy:
         Pichu ----------> Pikachu
         Cleffa ---------> Clefairy
         Togepi ---------> Togetic
         Igglybuff ------> Jigglypuff
         Chansey --------> Blissey
         Golbat ---------> Crobat
         Eevee ----------> Umbreon(Night) or Espeon(Day)**

    ** Eevee's other evolutions are created with stones except for Umbreon and
    Espeon. Eevee will evolve into Espeon if you train it and allow it to evolve
    in the morning or day. Eevee will evolve into Umbreon if you train it and
    allow it to evolve at night.

    There is one pokemon with a special case! Tyrogue! Tyrogue is a pre-evolved
    form of Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan and Hitmontop. He will evolve into either of
    those three (at Lv 20) depending on his STATUS.

            ------> ATTACK > Defense ------> Hitmonlee

    Tyrogue ------> ATTACK = DEFENSE ------> Hitmontop

            ------> Attack < DEFENSE ------> Hitmonchan

    You can choose your evolution by giving Tyrogue Iron or Protein.

    * Note that because Tyrogue evolves at Lv20 it will not learn the moves
    Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee or Hitmontop learns before Lv20. It's an inconvinence but
    what can you do about it?

    13) Pokemon Compatibility
    =============================================================================

         In this section i have made extensive research to find which TM's and HM's
    can the pokemon learn. Also you will find which pokemon are compatible to bread
    with each others and what types of attacks that baby pokemon MIGHT learn.

    NOTE: Some pokemon may be able to learn TMs/HMs at their evolved stage
          example: Charizard can learn the same TM's/HMs as Charamander
          Charmeleon but he can also learn other ones like HM 02 and TM 15

         In this section you will find informatio on smaller details in the game.

    ------------------
    14.1) Time Capsule
    ------------------

         On the second floor of every pokemon center there is the Trade Center,
    which allows you trade pokemon back and forth from Gold and Silver. There is
    the Colosseum, where you can link up with a friend (or enemy) and battle with
    your pokemon. And finally there is the Time Capsule, which allows you to trade
    pokemon from Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow...

         You won't be able to use the Time Capsule at the beginning of the game.
    For you to be able to use it you will have to meet up with Bill at Ecruteak
    City. When you talk to him there he will tell you that he fixed the machine
    and you will be able to use it the NEXT day.

         There are certain guidelines to using the time capsule. In order you
    trade from/to Red/Blue/Yellow to/from Gold/Silver you have to follow these
    simple rules:

         1- Any pokemon found in Red/Blue/Yellow can be transferred into
            Gold/Silver.(Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, etc.)
         2- Any of the original 151 pokemon can be tranferred from
            Gold/Silver into Red/Blue/Yellow. (Rattata, Pidgey, etc.)
         3- None of the new pokemon in Gold/Silver can be transferred into
            Red/Blue/Yellow. (Hoothoot, Spinarak, etc.)
         4- None of the original 151 pokemon, who have learned new
            Gold/Silver moves, can be transferred into Red/Blue/Yellow.
            (Jigglypuff: Rollout)

    ------------------
    14.2) Mystery Gift
    ------------------

         What is mystery gift? This is when you and another friend beam cool stuff
    to each other. At the beginning of the game you will not have that option on
    your game's start menu. To acitvate the Mystery Gift option you will have to
    simply talk to the girl in Goldenrod City's Department Store on the 4th floor.
    Once you talk to her the Mystery Gift option will appear on your game's start
    menu.

         You don't need a link cable to do this with another gameboy. Simply turn
    on your game, both gameboy's must face each other (where the black sensor is)
    and simply click on Mystery Gift and then both of you repeatedly press A. You
    will both receive stuff from each other. The items you get are randomly
    chosen.

    ----------------------
    14.3) The Day Siblings
    ----------------------

         Who are the Day Siblings? It is a family of 7 (brothers/sisters) who
    appear on specific days of the week in specific places. They will each give
    you a special item that will enhance certain attack types. You simply make your
    pokemon hold it.

    Day          Name       Item          Location
    ---          ----       ----          --------
    Monday Monica Sharp Beak Route 40
    Tuesday Tuscany Pink Bow Route 29 (it's a girl in a pink dress)
    Wednesday Wesley Black Belt Lake Of Rage (on your way to the lake
                                          take the left path instead of the right
                                          and head north, he will be beside the
                                          only house there)
    Thursday Arthur Hard Stone Route 36
    Friday Frieda Poison Barb Route 32 (right above the Poke Center)
    Saturday Santos Spell Tag Blackthorn City (a boy standing between
                                          little jumps north of the Poke Center)
    Sunday Sunny Magnet Route 37 (Beside 3 Apricorn trees)

    =============================================================================
    15) Battle Chart
    =============================================================================

         The chart below will show you how effective different types of attacks are
    against different types of pokemon.

    Legend: (+) Means it's Super Effective (EX: Totdile VS Cyndaquil)
            ( ) Means normal damage
            (-) Not very effective (EX: Jigglypuff VS Geodude)
            (=) No effect (EX: Mareep VS Sandshrew)

    NOTE: That duel type pokemon might have double the advantage or disadvantage
    such as Gyarados, it's is doubly vulnerable against electric attacks cause it's
    water AND flying, so pay attention to these little details.

    17) FAQ's
    =============================================================================

         If you have any GOOD questions please send them to medusa450@yahoo.com, I
    will post the most of the useful questions in the FAQ section, some I might
    reply to you directly and the rest will be ignored.

         NOTE: Keep in mind I am writing the faq as I progress in the game so if
    you ask me about something I haven't written the Walkthrough section chances
    are that I won't be able to answer.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Q: Where can i get Mew and Celebi?

    A: There are ONLY 2 ways you can get them in Gold/Silver:
               1- Gameshark code (CHEATING!!)
               2- Nintendo (promotional giveaway)
       These are the only ways to get these extremely rare pokemon!!!You can
       ask Nintendo yourself!
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Q: No matter how i flip the switches in Goldenrod City's underground tunnel
       i can't seem to reach the rocket member at the bottom right.

    A: In order to reach the rocket member at the bottom right first exit the
       room to reset the switches, come back in and turn on the switches starting
       by the last one, then middle one, then the first one near the stairs.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Q: How can i access the mystery gift?

    A: Check Miscellaneous section for details!!!
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Q: Where do I get Mewtwo???

    A: You cant' get Mewtwo in Gold/Silver you can only transfer the pokemon from
       your Red/Blue/Yellow version.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Q: Where can i catch Lugia?

    A: I will be mentioning this eventually in future updates but i'll say it now
       once you aquire HM 06 Whirlpool and the Silver Wings from Pewter City
       (Gold) or Goldenrod City (Silver) you will be able to enter Whirl Island
       located on routes 40 & 41. Lugia is in that Island. (Lugia is in Whirl
       Island in both Versions the only difference is the level)
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Q: What do you get once you collect all 26 Unown's?

    A: Well once you do collect all 26 talk to the scientist and he will enable
       you to print them out if you have a gameboy printer.... pretty lame if
       you ask me.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Q: where do I find a Tyranitor, or at least the lowest form of a Tyranitor?

    A: You can catch Larvitar (the first stage of Tyranitor) at Mt. Silver, you
       will need to be very patient cause they are very rare(Pupitar and
       Tyranitor, Larvitar's evolutions, cannot be caught in the wild)
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Q: Is there a way to get Misdreavus in Gold?

    A: Actually you can get it in both versions! There are few in Mt. Silver at
       night.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Q: How do i get Heracros, Pineco, Aipom? Where do you capture them?

    A: If your pokemon has headbutt, use that move on trees in wood areas to find
       Pineco and in mountain areas to find Heracross and Aipom.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Q: Where can i find the golden Gyarados?

    A: Go to the Lake of Rage and surf to the center of the water where you will
       find the RED Gyarados (Its shiny).
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Q: How does the Amulet Coin work?

    A: You attach this item to a pokemon, when this pokemon goes into battle if
       it wins, you'll get double the money usually won in a battle.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Q: Where, in gold and silver, can I get Entei, Raikou, and Suicune after they
       flee from the burned tower?

    A: These legenedary beasts will wonder around Johto, you will encounter them
       by chance and they will always run away so if your lucky you'll meet them
       and even capture them. You can keep track of them by checking your map.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Q: Where can i find TM 08? (iv'e been asked this question a thousand times)

    A: TM 08 Rock Smash can be found on Route 36 (Check Walkthrough Section for
       details) once you get it from the man you will THEN be able to buy it at
       the Goldenrod City Department Store.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Q: I have had an eevee, and ive been taking it to the poke center, giving it
       a crapload of haircuts... not letting it die.. giving it TM/HM's, giving
       it protien,carbos, etc. and giving it all the potions and full heals i
       can!!! and it still wont evolve. It is in level 40 right now. What do I
       DO?

    A: This is a rare case indead!! I have thought about it, all what you are
       doing is perfect for it to evolve. If it's a traded eevee or you have
       traded it to another cartiridge this will explain what is going on with
       you IF NOT then all i can say is keep trying or start over with another
       eevee. Sorry.... :(
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Q: If I used the Gameboy Mega Memory Card in Pokemon Gold or Silver to go
       back to a previous game save, will this mess up the game or internal
       clock?

    A: Absolutley NOT! There is no problem as long as you dont put your Silver
       save into your Gold save and vice versa.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Q: I was wondering would it be a waste of a masterball if i used it on the
       level 70 Ho-oh and also how do i track down Entei, Raikou, Suicune?

    A: Actually it's a great idea to use the Masterball on the Lv 70 legendary
       bird, it's tough enough to catch Lv 40 Lugia. And you can track down the
       3 legendary beast only if by chance you meet them in the wild. If your
       lucky enough and bump into them your pokedex will record it and you will
       be able to keep track of them by simply looking into your Johot map which
       will pinpoint it's location.
