"A good game... gone bad."

Quest for Camelot is a good game with a good, solid challenge, and excellent color graphics... and the worst play control since "Bebe's Kids". "Bebe's Kids" is described as a game where it feels like you're trying to perform "Swan Lake" with an elephant tied to your back. OK, OK, so Quest for Camelot isn't that bad... but the controls at the beginning of the game are unforgiving. The menus are awkward, and the play control non-receptive and unintuitive. Once you play through level 1 a couple of times, though, the play control will get better. There's not that much of an RPG element to the game, and it's mostly walking around and slaying the enemies. I'll go right to the individual components of the game.

GRAPHICS: Great!!! The important components of the game are bright and identifiable, most of the time. One of a couple of graphical problems is that an enemy soldier is completely blue, and unless you're in really good light, it looks like a blue blob. All enemies are like this: one color and thin black outline. Sometimes, too, it's hard to see the item that you used and where it landed. Graphics-7

PLAY CONTROL: Slow and sorry. How could a game so good in the other areas be so low and bad in Play Control? Unfortunately, this ruins the game. I can only give PLAY CONTROL-4

MUSIC & SOUND: The music is good, although HORRBILY repetitive. Every time you hit pause to change an item, or talk to a person, the music starts over. You seem to know the beginning notes, chords and accompaniment of a song my the time you've completed a level. MUSIC-6

OVERALL SATISFACTION RATING: If only the game's programmers fixed up the flaws in this game, it'd get a 10 from me. Now before you hit back on your browser, hold on... if you're a big fan of RPG's and adventures, who knows, Quest For Camelot may be your cup of tea. It's not immature or cute. Just a straightforward, simple, average game. OVERALL RATING-6
