Review by PokePika

"If you like Pokémon, you'll REALLY like this game!"

Well, first of all, this is NOT just a cheap copy of G/S. It includes many new features, including capturing Suicune without having to see it in the wilderness, you get to choose, whether you're a boy or girl, the new BATTLE TOWER, which is like a game for itself, and much more.

Gameplay 10/10

Well if you liked other Pokémon games then you'll DEFINITELY like this one. It has all the good stuff from G/S and some new stuff, like the new Ruins of Alph, which just ROCKS! It doesn't get boring at almost any point of the game. Then the BATTLE TOWER! You're probably wondering why am I so fascinated with the Battle Tower. It's because it's just like GBC version of Pokémon Stadium (2).

Graphics 10/10

For a GBC game, the graphics KICK ***!! Just wait till you see some animations of the Pokémon in battle, or the Battle Tower from the outside, and especially the Ice Cave, which is sooo beautiful!

Controls 10/10

It's all simple like the G/S - very simple, but very effective, they definitley deserve a pure, pure 10.

Sound 6/10

The beeps get boring after a while and you wish to turn them off, but if you compare it to other GBC games, then it's 9/10.

Music 9/10

Completely different from the sound, the music doesn't get boring that fast and there is actually a pretty good selection of tracks - around 10 different or so.

Replay Value 10/10

Now THIS is where the game REALLY shines - once you complete the game, you'll keep playing it over and over, with different teams, and different movesets, catching new Pokémon, defeating Elite 4 and Red (Ash) over and over again - it's really fun!

Story - I can't really rate it cause there's no REAL story at all - you try to catch 251 kinds of Pokémon and be a master trainer.

New Stuff - you choose BOY/GIRL
- MUCH easier to catch Suicune
- The BATTLE TOWER, baby!!
- The Move Tutor, which can tach some great moves
- You can't catch Ho-Oh if you haven't caught
the legendary CATS and Lugia
- new, much improved Ruins of Alph
- many, many more!

Buy or Rent?

If you're a Pokémon fan, then definitely BUY, if you don't like Pokémon, then do neither, if you're just getting into Pokémon, then rent.
