Dragon Warrior III
Question from Sysryke
Asked: 4 years agoIn the opening menu of the game there are two options called "Trade Medals" and "Check Medals". When you select either of these you go to a sub menu with two more options a piece. The first option in either sub menu leads to the normal list of 165 monster medals. The second list though leads to images of 191 monster medals, and most of them are different from the first list. Does anybody have any idea what this second list is, or where these 26 extra medals come from?
Normally there are 165 monster medals, however, *Spoiler,* If you beat Zoma, and continue your game, you may progress via the Dragon Queen's Castle, to the heavens, where you can challenge Divinegon. You must beat Divinegon in 35, 25, 15 turns, in order to make a wish. The first time you win you must win in 35, the second 25, and the third 15, and everytime after that you must win 15 times are more quickly. Under the wish menu there are several options, including a blank option, which opens a new dungeon, giving you even more to do.
~Beating the game, Zoma, opens up 26 new medals.
The new dungeon is the monster medal dungeon, with an ultimate final boss. This dungeon has three floors, which are unbreachable without the required MonsterMedals. The first floor is open, the second floor requires all bronze Monster Medals, the third requires all the Silver Monster Medals, and the fourth floor requires all the gold monster medals.
If you open this new dungeon via wishing for it. The 26 additional Medals are Hexagonal shaped Monster Medals acquired through the wishes, or going above and beyond to defeat more monsters than ever before. It's a royal pain to collect them all, but the reward for collecting them is to face-off the Grand-Dragon, which will yield an exteremly great reward if you win quickly enough. Hope this helped.

statusDefeat Divinegon in different no. of turns. There is a wish in the list that he must show to you if you defeated him in the required no. of turns. This is the "RARE MEDALS" wish. Defeat him again and again and choose this wish 4-5 times. Every time he will give you some rare medals including his own medal. Finally choose the blank wish that is the "NEW DUNGEON" wish. To get the monster medals of small monsters-fight them aroud the area where they are mostly found. For Example- slime(aliahan), raven(aliahan),metable(rimuldar), mummyman(pyramid),etc.
You used a code to give yourself all of the Monster medals, and what you are seeing in the second list are the theorized monster medals for DW IV, which was not included on the cart. They likely lacked the room to fit the second game, so they cut most the data, but did not remove the images for the monster medals of DW IV.
