Cadash
Review by Sergio_Yukio
"CADASH, arcade action on the SEGA MEGA DRIVE."
Cadash is a port of a arcade hit. This action game have some nice features to use like experience points to gain extra levels, items and even offensive spells on the case of the Mag. The game has some darker places and even some not so nice parts, if you like happy and good stories it could be better to avoid this and other "Role Playing Game" titles.
Gameplay:
8
The gameplay is average, the good point is that it is for two simultaneous players! The bad point is that there are only two characters to chose from. The spells from the MAG are very effective, even against the 'masters' ...It seems strange but contrary to what is stated on the begin of the game, the MAG could be easier to master and play! At least for people that are highly versed on action fantasy games with magical spells.
It is possible to find items on treasure boxes or kill the monsters and get the money bags to buy the items and weapons from stores. The use of healing herbs is automatic each time that your hit point counter is too low, preventing a premature death!
Story:
9
The story starts as a typical quest to save the princess, later there should be a plot twist that would explain more about the quest. There are a number of mandatory sub-quests, each of them telling a little about the various kingdoms.Only the 'weapons and Armour's' are optionally brought at the shops. If you liked any "Role Playing Game" from Taito this should not be a exception since there are some nice parts on each kingdom.
Graphics/Sound:
The graphics are good for a home conversion. The music is ok.

Difficulty:
8
The game is not that difficulty, it is easier to kill the 'bosses' using magic attacks. The main problem is that is also easy to find some sort of death from massive damage, also some parts could be a little confusing the first time. The difficulty level is supposed to be lowered when using both players at the same time in a cooperative mode.
Play Time/ Re-playability:
7
The play time is a considered amount of time for a action game, since there is a two players mode a experienced player could try again with a friend. The re-playability is a little compromised by the fact that this version only feature two playable characters even if both could be played at the same time! Usually it is possible to master and play this at a weekend, what take some persons off "action" games is that at each game section you and possible a friend would need to start from the begin. This is not really a problem since the game is not very hard.
Final Recommendation:
It is a "TAITO" game! If you like their type of story and games you would not be disappointed.
Avoid if you dislike games and stories from Taito.
Buy it if you can. This game is one of the titles included on the TecToy Super Mega Drive 3, because of it is a fair common game bundle on the console compilations. The price of the compilation is a little high but since there are titles from SEGA, NAMCO and Taito it is a relative secure investment. .
