Review by Lethargy

"Yes, it is cool."

I'm really ashamed to be a fan of this one. I mean a video game based on 7-up? It doesn't get any more ridiculous than that. I'm amazed this game isn't complete garbage, I'm even more amazed that it's a really fun game and that I actually took time out of my life to beat it.

Graphics - Surprisingly decent, even for a Genesis title. Now I'm not knocking Genesis, but a combination of a limited color pallette mixed with the 7-up license should logically look a lot worse than this. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing fancy here it's just that everything looks crisp and recognizable (unlike Green dog for instance)

Sound - Very catchy. I'm thinking the famous Virgin games guy did the tracks on this one, I could be wrong however. Also there may not be a famous Virgin games music guy, but I think there is. Appropriate sounds add to the mix.

Game play - Good times abound. Very fun game. Sorry to use sentence fragments like that, it's just that sometimes you have to for added effect. Anyhow, huge levels, tons of bad guys to shoot your bubbles at, both vertical and horizontal scrolling (not much I know, but a platformer without them is pretty pathetic) and a terrific bonus level in which you bounce around a bottle of 7-up trying to spell something add up to a very enjoyable experience.

If you're turned off by kiddie games, this may not be the title for you, but if you're looking for a solid platformer, I'd recommend Cool Spot.
