Review by JCool

"A succesful, though not well-known, sequel to a highly succesful game."

Ecco was an idol to the dolphins of his pod and to most of the whales and dolphins around the world. The terrible water aliens, the evil Vortex, had stolen his pod from the water and he decided to get them back. He went everywhere-Atlantis, the Great North, and even back in time. He defeated the evil Vortex Queen and resqued his pod. Now, the Vortex is back, not believing that a small dolphin had beat her. She is attacking the WHOLE EARTH this time, and is building a new hive. Ecco must beat her again to save the world.

Ecco's controls are easy enough to master, and he has special moves that aid him along his quest. (The 360 degree blast is a great help!) He is very powerful, and his powerful allies are a great help to him, too. Ecco must defeat the offspring of the terrible Space Insect and Earthen creatures, too. Ecco's real enemies are the puzzles he has to solve, and the difficulties of decoding messages. Ecco, along the line, eventually goes to the future with his grandaughter, (There are a lot of greats in the full title!) and talk with the Asterite. He goes to the Vortex future and fights the creatures of it, and goes and fights the evil Vortex Queen herself. The game recieves extra points for being a role-player, though, then it loses points for having the speech very one-dimensional. For such playful creatures, the dolphins are very solemn!

It also kinda stinks because the storyline is back and forth. Present, Future. Present, Future, Present. Gets boring. Afterwards, when the game seemingly dies, there is another thing you can do. You must destroy the Time Machine!!! But what really happens is-NO! I won't tell you. You must play the game for yourself. Good luck!
