"A golf game I like?"

Introduction

My friend bought this game tiday, while browsing for another game he saw it, and, having once owned it, purchased it. We rushed over to play the game and were instantly hooked, it is truely a masterpeice of a game. Though it is old, its much better than many, more recent games. It is a golf game, obviously, but don't let that put you off, it is still amazing. It is turn based.

Gameplay

Gameplay is PGA Euroe Tour's strongest point, as it shoulod be. It revolves around a simple strength meter system combined with a bit of strategy when selecting clubs, using Draw and Fade and compensating for wind. For those who don't know how golf works, you simple have to putt it in the least amount of strokes possible. The computer AI is great, but after a while they become too easy, and multiplayer becomes the new challenge. You can have up to 4 players, and as it is turn-based, only one pad is needed. There are several different modes, including a Tournement, Shootout, and Driving Range. And all your different scores are put onto a players profile (Which can be saved), and working into various high score tables. There are around computer 10 players that are playable, some famous players, like Ian Woosman, andeach have their own level of skill. And another 50 that aren't playable and just flesh out the high score table.

Graphics/Sound

For a Mega Drive game, they are stunning, I love the animations on the players, and they're are no, blocky pixelated masses to spoil it, the landscape is well done, not terribly realistic, but what do you expect? The Sound effects are realistic though, and god help me, I think the music is kinda jazzy.

Replayability

Golf is a long game, a single course on this game will keep you occupied for an hour, and then they're is the tournement, which lasts days, and with a great multiplayer mode it lasts forever. But even without a multiplayer, you always strive to get more and more cash, beating the computer harder every time. I can't see this game ever getting boring, I really can't.

Final Recommendation

If you are a sports game fan, then this game is worth hunting down, it is very cheap for the amount of enjoymemt you get out of it. But if you're not a sports fan, and you happen to see this game, its still worth getting.
