Rings of power-The best RPG on the genesis

Graphics-9/10
The graphics are not good, but not bad considering it's only a genesis game. The sheer size of the world is incredible, and it's in isometric 3-d. The spells look incredible, as do the players and enemies. The ending sequence looks dodgy, but never the less, the graphics are amazing any other time. Also, the characters have pictures when you talk to them. When your people die, or you find a corpse, it shows a nice picture of a dead person. When you find a ring or key, it shows a picture of a key. Nice and simple.

Sounds-8/10
The sounds are ok, you can select which music you have, and the background tunes are brilliant. The sound effects are not very good, but you can turn them off. The battle music is brilliant, and when in a boat it has a really sea-sounding music playing. Some of the music can make you feel quite tense, such as when in a dungeon, or a crypt.

Controls-10/10
The controls are very good, and easy to pick up on. You could even have an option to have a genesis(or mega drive) controller in the top corner whilst you are on the maps. The battle controls are fiddly at first, but you can get used to them. And if you can't, you could turn battle onto auto. Speaking of which, there are many modes you can select in battle, such as bezerk, or advance. Also, the menus have tons and tons of options.

Story-10/10
The story is incredible! I won't spoil it for anyone, but at the beginning there is a really good twist before the adventure actually begins. And, right at the end, there is also a great story twist. The idea of Nexus and Void as God and Satan is very good, and original.

Game play-10/10
The game is massive. That is the only word for it. It is the biggest game I have ever played, and it took me a grand total of 7 years to complete it. Note that in that time I did not have a genesis for 5 years, but that's still 2 years of playing it nearly every day. Even after completing the game, you can still get more money, or just go around killing everybody. Its great! Also, you have to feed and water your characters, as walking around is tiring work. In some circumstances, the speed at which they become hungry or thirsty changes.

Overall-9/10
This game is a must buy for all genesis owners. Search all charity shops, car boot sales, second hand game shops, or mates attics to find this game, and try it. You will be hooked.
