                                       by MManos

    Author's Note: This guide is for _two_ games: Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and Sonic
                   and Knuckles, both for the Sega Genesis. The PC Collection
                   including both games, well, this guide applies to that also.
                   However, any differences between the two will not be addressed.

    This FAQ now contains the commonly-used "Quick Find" catalog. Next to each
    section of the guide contains a three-letter code. Hit CTRL+F to access the
    "Find" menu, type in the three-letter code, and keep searching (should be the
    second find) until you find the section you inquire!

                           January 8, 2005 -- Version 11.0
              ==========================================================
      Through recent discovery, I have found video game guides available on free
       Shareware applications. I have thereby changed information in Copyright
       Information and Guide Usage Rules. Also, there have been minor grammar
                          alterations throughout the guide.

                           January 3, 2004 -- Version 10.0
              ==========================================================
      Welcome to another new year, ladies and gentlemen. Here's what I've done:

    ALTERATIONS
    - That Author's Note at the beginning of the guide has been changed a bit, due
      to several e-mails I have received regarding the PC Collection.
    - Another new year, another change to the Copyright Information section that
      involves the year, among other things.
    - Lock-On Technology has been slightly updated.
    - An explanation of the Asterisks of the Bosses' Sidebar Scroller has been
      included.
    - Changes have been made to the Author Contact section.

              ==========================================================
                            October 4, 2003 -- Version 9.0
              ==========================================================
                Well, I made a couple of quick revisions to this guide.

    ALTERATIONS
    - I suppose this isn't too important, but I changed the format of the guide, so
      it is now done on WordPad instead of Word.
    - Changes have been made to the Copyright Information section.

              ==========================================================
                             July 4, 2003 -- Version 8.0
              ==========================================================
    Happy "Fourth" everybody. I did a few updates to this guide in order to make
                             the information more precise.

    ALTERATIONS
    - With a new year, "Copyright Information" had to be slightly tweaked.
    - Included the fact that hedgehogs are insectivores, not rodents, in
      "Characters"
    - Included the pronunciation of "Echidna" in "Characters"
    - Slight tweaking of grammar in "Zone Descriptions"
    - Included more credits in the "Acknowledgments" section

              ==========================================================
                           December 29, 2002 -- Version 7.0
              ==========================================================
      The only thing I have done is finished up the information needed in "Codes,
       Cheats, Glitches, and Oddities," mainly the notice that there will be NO
     Game Genie Codes. Too many of them, and an abundance of "crap" codes, result
       in a lot of work. I recommend GameWinners.com, because they have all the
      codes. Other than that, and that I changed some names of Bonus Stages and
    Items to reflect the official names, as well as changing the name of "2P Mode"
                          to "Competition Mode," that is all.

              ==========================================================
                           November 30, 2002 -- Version 6.0
              ==========================================================
     Several additions and changes in this update! To make this more informative
                         of an FAQ, I have done the following:

              ===========================================================
        As CJayC has said time and time again, there truly can never be a Final
    Version of the guide. Therefore, I have made this addition. This incarnation
                       includes the following additions/changes:

    ALTERED SECTIONS
    - Just a few alignment issues that have been bugging me.
    - Brief, updated character descriptions.
    - Minor tweaks of grammar throughout.

                 [LOT] CHAPTER 03: Lock-On Technology [LOT]

    ===============================================================================

    In early 1994, fans welcomed "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" with open arms and bought
    the game in mass quantity, but they were disappointed with the length of the
    game. It felt like only half a game. They didn't know that an addition was
    looming somewhat near in the future...

    The "Sonic & Knuckles" cartridge features a unique "lock-on" capability that
    has yet to be duplicated by any game of any system. If you lock certain games
    inside it, you get very interesting results.

                                  SONIC THE HEDGEHOG
              ===========================================================
    Born and raised on South Island (where Sonic 1 took place), a speed demon, and
    a guy with a major chili dog obsession, Sonic the Hedgehog has evolved into one
    of the most loved video game mascots of our time. When one mentions "Sega,"
    one can't help but think of the blue, spiky-haired insectivore.

    Now, Sonic has been supped-up with some special new powers. His reflexes have
    grown to preposterous proportions, allowing him to create a barrier around
    himself for a split second, fending off enemies. He has also found special new
    shields that provide energy protection and elemental powers...

              ===========================================================
                       MILES "TAILS" PROWER - THE TWO-TAILED FOX
              ===========================================================
    I don't know, nor want to know, why Sonic, an ultra-cool dude, has a best
    friend in a whiny, premature ten-year-old fox. Sounds a little suspicious to
    me... Anyway, this kid is pretty cool, and he can now fly, not to mention swim.
    He definitely stands out in this game as a truly "new" character.

              ===========================================================
                                 KNUCKLES THE ECHIDNA
              ===========================================================
    A new nemesis to Sonic, even though he soon turns into an ally, Knuckles is one
    cool dude. Fifteen years old, Knux guards the Master Emerald, the prime source
    of balance and harmony on the Floating Island. He is a bit hotheaded, and he
    hates a certain metallic copy of our blue hero... and in case you were
    wondering, the correct pronunciation of "Echidna" is "eh-kid-nuh".

                                   DR. IVO ROBOTNIK
              ==========================================================
    Also known as Dr. Eggman, Robotnik is the definition of evil dudes who need to
    hit a Stairmaster. The red suit and fiery mustache define this guy, but
    nothing seems more prominent than the Egg-O-Matic, his transport device used to
    hover throughout the universe.

                              FLOATING ISLAND INHABITANTS
              ===========================================================
    Instead of the standard "Damsel-in-Distress" theme found in many games in this
    genre (*cough* Mario *cough*), Sonic must rescue the residents of this island.
    Either the gravity level must be really high or there's a lack of nutrition
    among the locals, but they are all really short, except for Knuckles.

                  [ZND] CHAPTER 09: Zone Descriptions [ZND]

    ===============================================================================

    One of these days, I may get a walkthrough in this guide. For now, here's some
    brief descriptions of the seven zones.

    Each zone has two acts, with the exception of all zones from Lava Reef Zone
    onward, with the minor notice that Knuckles only has two acts in Lava Reef. In
    each act, Sonic, Tails, and/or Knuckles have ten minutes to race to the end,
    pass all the obstacles, and collect as many rings as possible. Pass as many
    star posts as well, for if your character should die, he would restart at the
    last-touched star post rather than the beginning. Almost all enemies are worth
    100 points, and bosses are worth 1,000.

              ===========================================================
                              ZONE 01:  Angel Island Zone
              ===========================================================
    Putting a spin on the general "tropical paradise" first Zone, Angel Island
    starts off as a luxurious jungle... that is, until Knuckles sets it on fire for
    Sonic and Tails halfway through Act One. Knuckles, on the other hand, does a
    little spelunking and heads underground for the entirety of Act Two. Other
    than that, there isn't much to say about this zone. Starting off on a beach,
    many small pools of water are available in case you wish to go swimming. Water
    and flame shields are highly recommended, depending on how high up you are in
    the area.

              ===========================================================
                               ZONE 02:  Hydrocity Zone
              ===========================================================
    Well, by the title of this zone, you can basically tell that there will be an
    abundance of water. In fact, a good percentage of the zone is played
    underwater. Keep in mind: all three of our heroes are slowed down beneath the
    surface. At the very beginning of the Zone, Tails and Knuckles can fly above
    or climb (respectively) the high wall to the right by holding LEFT (as you
    fall) to land on a platform, then perform the action from there. Those hands
    that pop out of the light-blue tubes are speed boosters, so run into them
    whenever possible. Obviously, I would recommend the water shield, because the
    flame and lightning shields disintegrate when they touch water.

              ===========================================================
                             ZONE 03:  Marble Garden Zone
              ===========================================================
    This zone is mainly a variation of the Marble Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog,
    but influences from the Hill Top Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 are present as
    well. I would recommend the flame shield because the Fireball Spin Dash (for
    Sonic) can help you get through some tricky areas. Double-jumps are also
    handy, so I would also suggest the lightning shield. When on the tops, the
    lightning shield attracts any and all rings near you. There are many flame-
    related enemies, and getting crushed by spikes can happen frequently.

              ===========================================================
                             ZONE 04:  Carnival Night Zone
              ===========================================================
    This is following the tradition of Sonic the Hedgehog 2's Casino Night Zone,
    minus the flippers and slot machines. Multi-colored balloons are about this
    Zone (red, blue, yellow, and black), but they all accomplish the same goal:
    jump on one, it will pop, and your character will be launched up. ***There is
    one part in Act Two where Sonic or Tails will get caught on a barrel. Press
    UP and DOWN in synch with the barrel, and you will get freed.*** Be warned,
    there is water in Act Two. I recommend the water shield, but more importantly
    the lightning shield for those pesky energy Badniks. A special feature is
    that Knuckles has no boss in this Zone.

    ***I have received several e-mails regarding this sole problem, and I know***
       that this particular portion of the zone is rather frustrating, so it
       deserves special attention.

              ===========================================================
                                ZONE 05:  Ice Cap Zone
              ===========================================================
    This is my second favorite zone in the entire 34-Bit combination because of one
    thing: Sonic gets to snowboard in the beginning! If you do not jump during
    this time, you will receive forty rings during the run. This zone is mainly
    underground for the first act, and half underground/half above ground in the
    second. Lightning and flame shields are extremely helpful. This zone is full
    of transportation items. Ice blocks and catapults are two of the more annoying
    ones. Push ice blocks, then jump onto them. Follow the same rules as the
    Carnival Night barrels with catapults.

              ===========================================================
                              ZONE 06:  Launch Base Zone
              ===========================================================
    If you are playing Sonic the Hedgehog 3 alone, this is the final zone. If you
    are playing Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles, you're halfway through the game.
    Robotnik is about to launch his Death Egg, but you can stop him... hopefully.
    With several other Zones in this game, water is present in Act Two. All three
    shields are equally helpful. Keep alert, watch your every step, and you'll do
    just fine. Make sure you don't get confused with rapidly-changing screens,
    breakable walls, elevators, spinning cylinders, and hydraulic tubes.

              ===========================================================
                             ZONE 07:  Mushroom Hill Zone
              ===========================================================
    If you are playing Sonic & Knuckles alone, this is Zone 01. Otherwise, it is
    Zone 07, and you can now collect Super Emeralds. Deep in the heart of the
    Floating Island, seasons change in the blink of an eye here, or at least in Act
    Two they do. Many annoying enemies reside in this zone, including Mushmeanies
    and Dragonflies. I would recommend the flame shield ONLY because the bosses in
    this zone have fire-related attacks.

              ===========================================================
                             ZONE 08:  Flying Battery Zone
              ===========================================================
    This was obviously inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog 2's Wing Fortress Zone.
    But, you are either at Zone 08 or 02, so you aren't done for awhile. If you
    found Wing Fortress easy, well, this is not _as_ easy, but it still isn't too
    bad. Random Prison Eggs are about this zone; some contain rings, others are
    home to TechnoSqueeks and Blasters. Just watch out for the other
    strategically placed Badniks. Flame shields work well, but lightning shields
    are also quite efficient.

              ===========================================================
                               ZONE 09:  Sandopolis Zone
              ===========================================================
    This is, I feel, inspired by the Ice Cap zone of all things because there are
    several side-paths that stray from the main course. It is very fun, and quite
    challenging in Act Two, especially for Knuckles. Act One consists of a basic
    desert area, while Act Two is made of the insides of an ancient pyramid. In
    Act Two, be VERY careful not to retrace your steps, or you'll run out of time.
    Not only that, but ghosts appear if the lights remain out for long enough...
    keep switches hit and lights on at all costs. I recommend the lightning shield
    solely for the double jump ability.

              ===========================================================
                               ZONE 10:  Lava Reef Zone
              ===========================================================
    This zone is very unique, and it is also my favorite zone in the entire game.
    There are three acts for both Sonic and Tails, but there are two for Knuckles.
    A gigantic zone, it is comprised of several parts. In Act One, you are inside
    a volcano. However, in Act Two, the volcano freezes over. In Act Three, which
    Knuckles does not take part in, Robotnik re-activates the volcano again. You
    NEED the flame shield for obvious reasons, but the lightning shield is also
    extremely handy. Many relations to the Ice Cap Zone. Look everywhere for
    hidden passages.

              ===========================================================
                             ZONE 11:  Hidden Palace Zone
              ===========================================================
    Not quite the answer to the missing-in-action zone from StH2, but it is pretty
    interesting in itself. Your currently-collected Emeralds are held here, and,
    strangely, only Tails can access the shield-containing monitors through some
    aerial manuevers. Knuckles has extremely little to do here. For all
    characters, jump on the red balls to teleport upwards. That's all, really.
    Note the cool mural above where Sonic/Tails and Knuckles fight.

              ===========================================================
                             ZONE 12:  Sky Sanctuary Zone
              ===========================================================
    Very awkward, indeed, Sky Sanctuary Zone is another one of those zones that
    makes you wonder where they got the idea from. This is the terminal zone for
    Knuckles. Otherwise, Sonic and Tails have either one or two left. There are
    no shields here; then again, there is practically nothing here if you are
    Knuckles: just a boss. Sonic and Tails meet up with Mecha Sonic three times.
    If you remember your past bosses, however, then you won't have too much
    trouble... but that's in "Bosses." Jump on the clouds, and enjoy yourself,
    because it isn't going to be easy for very long.

              ===========================================================
                               ZONE 13:  Death Egg Zone
              ===========================================================
    I see there being three acts. This is a very hard stage for beginners. This
    is it for Tails. This is absolutely nothing like Sonic the Hedgehog 2's Death
    Egg Zone. I see inspiration from Sonic CD's Metallic Madness Zone and Sonic
    the Hedgehog's Scrap Brain Zone. Some gadgets here include anti-gravity
    chambers, auto-countdown G-Force dashers, transport tubes, and electric
    elevators. Lightning shields make ring collecting a snap and let you walk on
    the fluorescent lights where the elevators are powered. Have total fun.

              ===========================================================
                              ZONE 14:  The Doomsday Zone
              ===========================================================
    This zone is only for Sonic and only if you have the seven Chaos Emeralds.
    This is, by far, the hardest zone in the game. Since you're either Super
    Sonic or Hyper Sonic, you NEED rings. This takes place in an asteroid belt,
    and you must defeat the final boss: The Doomsday Weapons. Good luck, because
    you will need it.

    ===============================================================================

                       [EMR]     CHAPTER 10:  Emeralds     [EMR]

    ===============================================================================

    Chaos Emeralds are the seven gems that you go after. They come in seven
    respective colors: green, orange, purple, blue, white, red, and aqua. If you
    have collected all seven, you will either become Super Sonic or Super Knuckles,
    yet Tails is left out in the cold when it comes to power. They are available
    in any zone except for Hidden Palace onward. (If you are playing S&K alone, in
    Mushroom Hill through Lava Reef. If you are playing StH3 or S3&K, in Angel
    Island through Launch Base.)

    The Super Emeralds are more powerful than those of Chaos descent. They have
    the same color scheme as the Chaos Emeralds, but they are much larger in size
    and power. These are only available from Mushroom Hill until Lava Reef, and if
    you are playing Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles combined. You will become
    Hyper Sonic, Hyper Knuckles, or Super Tails. You MUST have collected all seven
    Chaos Emeralds to be eligible to get all the Super Emeralds.

    The Master Emerald powers the entire floating island. Knuckles protects this,
    and Robotnik wants it. The plot revolves around it, and this guide does not
    deal with the storyline too much, so I will just let you read the manual.

              ===========================================================
                                   3D SPECIAL STAGES
              ===========================================================
    Found all around the Floating Island by jumping through giant rings, these
    areas are where you collect the Chaos and Super Emeralds. A pseudo-3D arena,
    you must collect blue spheres while avoiding red ones. If blues appear in
    squares, you must collect the edges, and they will turn into rings. Examples
    are below.

    KEY:   B = Blue Sphere
           R = Red Sphere
           O = Ring
           W = White Star Sphere
           Y = Yellow Sphere

    Ex. 1:
     B  B  B  B                 |\      .-----.                |\      O O O O

    Ex. 2:

              ===========================================================
                                     BONUS STAGES
              ===========================================================
    Bonus Stages have three variations. In the "Gumball Machine" Bonus Stage, you
    collect various items while trying not to fall. In order to accomplish this,
    you must launch yourself into the crank, thereby turning it and releasing an
    item-holding sphere. In the "Slot Machine" Bonus Stage, jump in the slot to
    receive or lose rings. In the "Glowing Spheres" Bonus Stage, use the flippers
    to get out of the stage while collecting spheres like in the Gumball Machine.

    ===============================================================================

    A whopping forty Badniks are in this game. Some are brand-new while other are
    clear successors to Badniks of the past. Let's take a look.

                        [BSS]     CHAPTER 13:  Bosses     [BSS]

    ===============================================================================

    New to this section is the "Sidebar Scroller" feature. On the side, for each
    mini-boss or boss, it indicates with a "Y" or "N" if each character has to face
    it, as well as how many hits they require.

    In the main description of the boss, asterisks are present if certain attacks
    apply to certain characters. Once again, check the Scroller to see which one
    it applies to.

    Also, the ways on how to beat the bosses are not too hard, so ways on how to do
    that are _not_ included. It just ruins the fun, don't you think?

    Another addition to take note: the Egg-O-Matic machines are piloted by Robotnik
    in Sonic and Tails' adventures, but they are manned by an EggRobo for Knux*.

    *For some reason, in "Flying Battery Zone," the final boss is manned by
    Robotnik for all characters. Possibly a graphic hindrance? That's my personal
    opinion.

                   [CMP] CHAPTER 14: Competition Mode [CMP]

    ===============================================================================

    In Competition Mode, there are five *new* zones in which you and a friend can
    participate. They are as follows, and because they are so brief, they will
    only have a brief description:

    AZURE LAKE ZONE
    - Sunny, "tropical paradise"-type zone

    BALLOON PARK ZONE
    - Strangely similar to Carnival Night Zone

    CHROME GADGET ZONE
    - Indoor factory with many movable platforms

    DESERT PALACE ZONE
    - A desert with loops, think the inside of the Sandopolis pyramid outdoors,
      without the annoying ghosts, switches, and lights

    ENDLESS MINE ZONE
    - Underground cave

    Note how the five zone names are in alphabetical order (A, B, C, D, E). Almost
    funny, but not quite.

    Various items are able to be grabbed. Such items are:
    - Red Shoes (speed up)
    - Gray Shoes (slow down)
    - Ring (no effect, I think)
    - Recycling symbol (?) (beats me)

    Three modes are available. In "Grand Prix," you and a friend can race through
    all five zones in succession, while "Match Race" allows just one zone of
    choice. "Time Attack" is a one-player practice mode.

    An important note to remember is that "Sonic and Knuckles" alone does not have
    this option.

    CHANGE IDENTITIES
    Use the Debug Mode cheat (below). Start any level that has a special stage
    ring. Next turn into your favorite object. As an object go to the center of a
    ring. Now hit B twice quickly. When you get out of the special stage you will
    look like that object for the rest of the level.

    DEBUG MODE
    Enter the Level Select code (below a ways), then press A + START to choose your
    starting level. Once the action starts, press C to create an item, B to toggle
    between items, and A to select items.

    DIFFERENT BATTLE MUSIC
    Just before you fight Robotnik in Hydrocity Zone - Act 2, the boss music will
    come. Keep Sonic's head under the shallow water until he is about to drown,
    then pop out of the water. You will hear the boss music from Sonic and
    Knuckles.

    EASY EMERALDS
    To gain all the chaos emeralds, enter the Level Select code (below), then
    highlight "Special Stage" and press C + Start. After receiving the emerald,
    press A + Start and repeat the process until you have them all.

    Alternatively, enter the Sound Test code and play sounds 2, 4, 5, 6 in order.
    If you did it correctly, the Emerald sound will play.

    EXTRA LIVES
    To do this trick you must get to the first level of the Launch Base Zone. Set
    off the first alarm, stop Sonic in the middle of it, and do a Spin-Dash attack.
    The Flybot767s will continue to attack, and eventually their value will
    increase to 10,000 points! Every five flybots will gain you a life and, if
    you're patient enough, you can earn up to 99 lives!

    EXTRA RINGS IN DEBUG MODE
    Enter Debug Mode (above) then select a stage. Next press B, then A (you must
    have Sonic and Tails on-screen). When your cursor changes into a ring, paste
    it on Tails. Repeat this process and you can gain up to 900 rings and several
    extra lives.

    LEVEL SELECT
    This code requires a Sonic 2 cartridge. Insert Sonic 2 and enter the Sonic 2
    Level Select (play sounds 19, 65, 09, and 17). Return to the title screen,
    hold A and press Start. To transfer this to Sonic 3, hold A and carefully
    remove the cartridge without turning off the Genesis. Insert Sonic 3 and press
    Reset. Finally, release A and press Down twice at the main menu.

    Note: You might notice a few levels you haven't seen before, but you can't
          select them. Those levels were originally intended for the game, but
          were pulled in order to release the game on time.

    MECHA SONIC AND TAILS
    Use the Debug Mode (above) code in Launch Base act 2. Beat the game. When
    Sonic or Tails jumps towards you, activate Debug Mode and get out of it
    immediately. You will be able to use Sonic or Tails in the background for a
    short time, but they will look like robots.

    PLAY AT NIGHT
    Enter the Level Select code, then press C + Start to choose your starting
    level.

    RANDOM STARTING LOCATION
    Enter the sound test menu choose a level. Look for a star post, touch it and
    hold A and press START. Then choose another level. If done correctly the
    title of the zone will change. Beware you might start out in a wall so use
    debug mode to fly out.

    SECRET SPECIAL STAGE
    For a bonus stage, enable Level Select (above), then play tune 1F. Finally,
    highlight stage 2 and hold A while pressing Start.

    SLOW MOTION
    First enable Level Select (above). While playing, you can pause the game and
    press A to restart, B for slow motion, and C for frame advance.

    SOUND TEST
    Enter the Debug Mode (way above) code, then press UP at the main menu to reveal
    the Sound Test option.

    SUPER SONIC
    To become Super Sonic without getting all the Chaos Emeralds, first enable the
    level select and debug mode. When the game begins, create a power-up box.
    There should be an 'S' on the box. Jump on it to grab 50 rings and become
    Super Sonic!

    SUPER TAILS
    Enable Level Select (above a ways), then press Down to make sure you have the
    sound test (don't select it yet). Start a one-player game and choose Tails in
    the Data Select screen. When the timer appears, press RESET.

    Enter the Sound Test menu and choose any zone. Hold A and press Start. You
    should be Tails and be in debug mode. From here press B, then press A until
    you see a box. Press C to select it, then press B to return to Tails.

    To enable Super Tails, jump on the box. Tails will look weird and can not be
    hurt or lose any rings. He can still get squashed and drowned, though, so be
    careful in the Ice Cap zone. You will have do this at the beginning of each
    zone. Robotnik can hurt him at the very end of Launch Base Zone - Act 2.

    UNLIMITED BONUS STAGES
    Enter the Level Select (you know where it is) code, then highlight the "2P Vs"
    option and press START. You will enter a series of bonus stages that last
    until you reset the system or press A+START.

    VIEW ANIMATIONS
    Enter Debug Mode and press B + C. You'll be treated to a view of Sonic and
    Tail's moves.

    BONUS ROUNDS
    To play the bonus rounds at any time, insert any game into your Sonic &
    Knuckles cartridge. When the "No Way" message appears, hold A + B + C and
    press Start. If you do this with the original Sonic game you can play the
    levels in order and will be given a password to save your progress.

    Note: In case you're wondering, I've left out the passwords deliberately.
          There are over 32,000 bonus rounds in Sonic & Knuckles. I can't possibly
          list them all on the page, nor is there much point to doing so since the
          levels are nearly identical. Thank you.

    DEBUG MODE WHEN LINKED TO "SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2"
    Go to the level select screen and play tunes 1, 9, 9, 4, 1, 0, 1, 8 (the date
    when the game was made). Choose any level, then hold A and press Start to
    activate Debug mode. To use it, see the instructions in Sonic the Hedgehog.

    DEBUG MODE WHEN LINKED TO "SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3"

    Originally, Sonic 3 was supposed to be much longer. Some of the S&K zones were
    part of Sonic 3, but the idea of releasing two "halves" of the same game ruled
    that out. Otherwise, things went rather smoothly.

    I can be reached via e-mail at the following address:

      cyebersurpher@hotmail.com

    If you wish to e-mail me about game help, please put either "Sonic the Hedgehog
    3 GEN", "Sonic and Knuckles GEN", etc. as the title of the e-mail.

    Of course, GEN would be for the Genesis version.  PC and/or SAT are also okay;
    use whatever version of the game applies to you. I warn you; I only own the
    Genesis version.

    Furthermore, do not ask a question involving something already addressed in
    the guide, such as "How many zones are in the game?". I have received
    countless e-mails with questions like that. They aren't appreciated.
