"Possibly the best Genesis game ever!"

Sonic and Knuckles is most likely the best game ever. It offers great graphics for a genesis game, a decent story and hours of entertainment. Also with this games's hook up feature you can connect older Sonic games such as Sonic 1, 2 and 3 and play as Knuckles in these games. It proves very helpfully because you can use Knuckles moves such as climb in these games to make these games much easier.

GRAPHICS 10/10: Sega has really out did themselves in this department. Sonic and Knuckles has probably the best graphics for a genesis system. It is almost never choppy. And also it lends a 3D mode very rare for a genesis game. It is a great sight for the eyes to see.

SOUND/MUSIC 7/10: This is definitely the worst feature of the game. Like most Sonic games, the music does get a little repetitive. And after hours of gameplay it can start to get on your nerves. (or at least it does for me) But the sounds do play well for the background so its really not that bad once you get into the game. Believe me you learn to ignore it.

STORY 9/10: Well the story is very good. It has a dual plot line depending on which character you are playing.
Knuckles is the guardian of the floating island and the Robotnik steals the emerald that holds the island. Knuckles must get it back at all cost.
Sonic on the other hand must get back his animal friends in which Robotnik has captured again.
Knuckles through out the story believes that Sonic is responsible for the evil deeds that brought the island down.
Later on in the game, Knuckles realizes that Sonic isn't responsible for these evil deeds, ( I am not telling you how, you must play the game to find out) and they join forces to stop Robotnik.

CONTROLS 10/10: Very easy to use with either a 3 button or 6 button controller. The controls aren't bad and work to the player's advantage. The game also offers a new feature to any other sonic games the climb feature. When controlling Knuckles, you can press the B button in order to grab ahold of a wall and climb up it. This control is great add on to the Sonic games.

DIFFICULTY 10/10: I find this to be one of the more difficult Sonic games. You have to have skill in order to beat this with both characters. There are 8 levels with 2 sublevels each like all Sonic games. This game proves to be difficult in less you are an extreme Sonic player.

As a last thought, this is a great game for all you classic gamers out there even if you aren't a Sonic player. If you enjoy games like Mario or Spyro the Dragon you are sure to enjoy this game.
