In case you were wondering, Bird Bird is one of the signs you can violently crash into in Super Hang On. Super Hang On was one of the first generation Genesis games and the sequel to the Master System pack-in Hang On. It offered two modes of play: arcade or ''quest'' mode. The arcade mode was pretty true to word; your bike came tricked out and you had to make check points in a certain amount of time. The quest mode pitted you against a rival in a quest to gain the best sponsership grant. You have to win five races against your rival, which earns you money to upgrade your bike. You can also select a mechnic to throw the old monkey wrench into your machine.
This is a fun game in either mode. The quest option is fun because you can really feel the difference the upgrades make to your machine; once you have it maxed out put in your password and go to Arcade mode to really fly!!

Graphics=7.8 Pretty good for the time. The game moves smoothly though there are not a lot of details in the backgrounds. Each mechanic and PR person has a unique look and personality; the Toy Store owner seems especially well suited for the job. The bikes look pretty hot too!

Sound=9.5 Great racing songs! These tunes get you pumped to hit the track. All the selectable songs are well orchestarted. The SQUUUEEEEEKK of your shrill tires around the curves is a touch I personally like.

Playcontrol=7.5 It gets better as YOU get better; the better stuff you get for the bike the better it handles. When you have it maxed out the play control is very good! You use a lean/drift system which I prefer so much more than ''realistic'' racers, such as Gran Turismo.

Storyline=5.0 You are a racer bound for glory. Get sponsers and hire better mechanics--It's kind of fun!

Overall=7.5 A nice racing game that eventually evolved into the MANX TT series.
