Zany Golf
Review by MACacd
"Little repetitive and bizarre but good fun"
Zany Golf is a good simulation of the strange Sea side and tourist areas golfing game, with all sorts of amazing (well they were at the time so stop laughing) obstacles to get the ball through.
I particularly like the pinball merger of the game and the multi track green with high - powered fans blowing the ball around, imagine that !
The graphics and sound are both excellent, and it's the amazingly addictive nature of the game that will have you fixed when you first start playing. However, the fact that there are only sixteen screens makes me question its lasting ability. Zany golf is certainly great fun, but if you buy it don't expect to be playing it in around a months time.
Presentation
Once Finished this will have little to recommend it - but its one that you could play with your parents, or a party which your parents are at. Imagine that !

Graphics
Nothing too flashy here, but the graphics show all the wacky and quirky nature of the game.
7 / 10
Sound
Pretty Basic effects with hum-able little tunes to add to the loopy game play

Playability
Good fun, but the scrolling nature of the game can be a little repetitive and bizarre. Ball movement is superb through out.

Last ability
Easy to pick and play, control is just as simple and has great potential as a multiplayer game. But the fact that it only has the 16 screens baffles me, almost all golf courses have 18 holes and even the nearest crazy golf area to me down the Mumbles (Tourist area of Swansea, Wales, U.K.) has 18 holes and this is the sorriest crazy golf course you have ever seen.

Best Bits
+ The wacky third round features of all things, a pin ball table complete with flippers and bumpers. The idea is to knock the ball around the table and to then use the flippers to gain extra strokes. Its not easy, but perseverance reaps rewards, the holes get much harder later on so get good quick and gain those much needed strokes.
+ If your parents don't love you play with some friends
+ If you have no friends you could play with your parents
Worst Bits
- You could play with your parents!!
- Only the 16 screens.
Alternatively
Nothing really comes to mind, perhaps a real golf game, Arnold Palmer's Golf also on the Mega Drive / Genesis.
