"An Instant Classic with a Misunderstood Hero…"

Well, what can I say, really? Frogger was a very groundbreaking and innovative title for the Intellivision. I mean come on, who doesn’t like Frogger? It’s an instant classic and will always be a hit…

Story – 1
You’re a frog trying to cross various obstacles while trying to NOT get killed. The only real story is your imagination. You can pretend that you’re a Prince that magically got turned into a Frog, you have to cross roads and rivers while things try to kill you. You can fantasize that at the end of your quest, there is young and beautiful Princess who is the key to unlocking your cursed, frog-like heart. Anyway, there is NO story, you can just make one up…..

Gameplay – 10
Wow…… that’s all I can say really? Frogger is so very addicting. Yup, cross the path and avoid certain death. There’s nothing to it. However, I myself never beat this game (stupid cars kept running me over). Fun nonetheless. Have a ball, you’re a frog for crying out loud!!

Graphics - 3
Ooooooo, can you see all the pretty pixels? Try and count them, just for fun!!

Control – 8
Decent and simplistic. Not very taxing on the nervous system, but the controls can get a bit frustrating at times. Just deal with it though, hang in there and rebel against those evil cars of doom!

Sound – 5
I can’t blame you if you don’t really enjoy listing to the game’s original sound track or various sound effects. One thing is for sure, I'm almost certain that no one will be downloading Frogger mp3s……. heh……

Replay Value – 7
As I said before, Frogger is very addicting. It’s an instant classic and to all of those people who think this review is a joke, well, it’s not. I’m serious! Frogger was the bomb in its day! Do you know how many games Frogger paved the path for? Frogger is the original platform game (no pun intended).

Well, if you have an Intellivision and DON’T have Frogger or have never played it, then you have honestly missed out. I don’t think Intellivisions cost much these days, so if you have some spending money (pocket change), buy this game! It’s not worth renting. Besides, I don’t think any stores rent out the original Frogger anyway. So, go but this game. This is how it all got started. Before there was Frogger 3-D, it was just plane old Frogger. Enjoy this game, you will have some memorable moments with this one, that’s for sure! So, defeat those evil death cars and other various obstacles of pain and hurt...
