Lucien’s Challenge: The Stebbins Coin” is a part tourism, part scavenger hunt, and part fictionalized historical narrative based on the incredible life of one of New York City’s most influential nineteenth century socialites, Colonel Henry G. Stebbins.

This application will be updated to reveal a new chapter 5 times over the next 12 weeks.

Each update to “Lucien’s Challenge: The Stebbins Coin” will contain a new short story, narrated by Lucien. Each story contains an anagram in its title, giving clues to a landmark in New York City where the Colonel made a profound historical impact. You, the Seeker, will need to investigate each site to find and submit the letters or numbers which are required to complete each challenge. At the end, you will be racing against other Seekers to become the sole owner of the coin which was written to be the Colonel’s first earned; One precious half-dollar, minted in 1824. This legendary coin will be ceremoniously awarded to the first Seeker to arrive at the location to be discovered by completing all 5 challenges. Once the coin has been awarded, the game will remain as an interactive tourism application with all 5 chapters intact, celebrating the life of Colonel Henry G. Stebbins.
