"Not bad, for what it is"

Worms, released for the Macintosh in 1993, is a fun little action game. Players assume different teams of worms, or play together on one team, with the sole object being the destruction of all other teams of worms.
Not really much in the way of storyline I know, but this game focuses more on the aspect of gameplay.
An older game, Worms is still enjoyable if you want to just waste some time playing around.

Gameplay

The controls are straightforward and simple. Basically, your worm can move to the left or right, jump, switch between weapons, and fire. Each worm gets to fire once each turn, and there is an option as to whether the time spent moving around each turn is limited.
Multiple players can fight against each other, or unite on the same team to take on the computer controlled teams. You get to set up how many teams are computer/human controlled. Therefore, you could have four human teams taking on each other, or one human team tackling up to three computer teams (which also fight against each other).
As far as using the weapons, this takes some getting used to. The computer is able to make perfect shots, adjusting exactly for wind strength, distance, etc. For the human player these considerations take time to perfect. This is one reason why the game is much more fun playing against your friends.

Story

There...well, there is no story. You control worms, and you try to kill other worms. I have a feeling that any story which explained why worms carry UZI's and can call in air strikes wouldn't make very much sense, anyhow.

Graphics/Sound

Old. A decade old, and they weren't that great to begin with. However, in addition to not being driven by the story, this game is also not driven by the graphics or sound departments. It's just mindless, cheap fun, so don't get your expectations too high.

Play Time/Replayability

If you enjoy playing this game once, chances are you'll keep it around and bust it out to waste time every now and then. Replayability is high, as it's just a simple little shooting game that can be cute at times.
Also, with the multiplayer function, you can help waste the time of your friends as well as your own.
Basically, this game has staying power much like Solitaire or Chess. You'll just play it every once in a while when you're bored.

Overall

Overall, this is a fun little game that's ten years old. That should pretty much tell you what to expect.
