""One" is a good, but often overlooked game."
The N-Gage might be a dead system...but it still had some fairly impressive games. It's no surprise that very few people have heard of "One", but I have, and I'm going to give my opinion on it, just for those few out there that might want one before purchasing the game.
I will cover the following categories: Gameplay, graphics, sound, and replay value. I will also add any additional comments if I feel it is necessary.
GAMEPLAY(7/10) - Simply put, it's a good fighter. There is a lot of customization to be found, as well. However, despite the almost endless amount of options you have for character customization, the fighting system lacks depth. This can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your preference. If you're looking for a game with a deep fighting system, you should look elsewhere. I'm personally indifferent on the depth of the combat, and the 7/10 score reflects that. If you actually prefer simplicity over complexity, consider this an 8 instead of a 7. My reasoning is that although there is an offensive stance, defensive stance, and normal stance that you can switch to with the press of a button, there is a very limited amount of moves. Some might become bored of always doing the same thing, but still, it's a matter of preference.
There is also multiplayer, but that's pretty much a given for a fighting game. Another interesting thing to note is that you can also play online. A very nice feature for those who'd like to use it(if it even works. I never got it to. Could just be me, though)
GRAPHICS(9/10) - For the N-Gage, the graphics are very, very great. There's not much I can say here. Sometimes it reminds me of a Dreamcast game, and to top it all off, it runs at a pretty decent framerate. Definitely a good example of what the N-Gage is capable of.
SOUND(5/10) - It's nothing particularly bad, but it's definitely nothing to write home about. Everything sort of sounds...dull. I guess I can't describe it very well, but just let me tell you that while the sounds of your actions are basically what you'd expect, there's usually no background music. This can definitely be a problem for some people, and its definitely a problem for me, thus the 5/10 score.
REPLAY VALUE(7/10) - It's a fighting game with multiplayer, so the replay value really depends on how much you enjoy the game. I consider it to have a good amount of replay value if you and a friend often have some free time. If you're someone who demands the very best in gaming to keep you coming back, then there's really not too much to see here. If you're usually at home, you're probably better off buying a bigger fighting game with more depth and options. The replay value here is about what you'd expect for a portable fighter.
OVERALL SCORE(7/10) - It's a solid game. Nothing special, but certainly nothing bad. If you're an N-Gage owner looking for a good fighting game, do yourself a favor and pick this up. Since games for the system are pretty cheap now, there's really no denying that you'll get your money's worth.
