"Sonic on N-Gage?"

SonicN, one of the first games to be released on N-Gage. I'm sure that is what the N stands for, after all. I have to also note that this game must be played on the old N-Gage for the "full feeling" to be alive. Those new ones just don't feel right.

Graphics:

The graphics are excellent. Compared to the GBA, this is GBASP. Seriously. Besides Pocket Kingdom, this game has the best graphics on the N-Gage system. That may not be saying much, but it is saying a lot.

Gameplay:

Have you ever played ANY 2D Sonic game? Picture that... but on N-Gage, with the ability to race against other people's times. Almost every Sonic game ever created (2D, mind you. That new 3D heroes stuff is different, but pretty much still the same) is like this. Just because this is on N-Gage doesn't make it any different.

Controls:

Left, right, up, down... the occasional 5 of 7 button? The controls are simplistic and fitting. It feels like you're playing Sega again, except your playing it wherever you want, and not in the basement. The controls are very responsive, and don't feel delayed like some of those old black and white Sonic titles. Worry not, this game pushes the N-Gage to it's maximum gaming potential on every level.

Music:

There isn't much to say from music. It's not repetitive, because it changes at every new stage. I suppose if you are stuck on the first level and cannot pass it no matter how hard you try, it could get repetitive, but who can hate that old-school NES-like beeping that could almost be considered music? I sure can't hate that.

Extras:

Dude, you can play online! That's all the extra this game needs. It has everything that the old one has, but can go ONLINE. You can race your friends at any time you want, just pull out your gage and race of ghost of them online. It's like the real thing, just on N-Gage. AND IT'S FREE!

Overall:

I was just kidding with the outside rating, I actually give this game a ten. This is arguably the best game of all time, if not the best Sonic game of all time. So when you buy your N-Gage, and have to decide whether to buy this game or Pocket Kingdom, my answer is this: Dig a little deeper into your wallet. Pull out two more dollars and buy both of them.

SonicN is one of the best games I have ever played without actually playing. Nothing is more true than that.
