Who knew that when Donkey first showed up in 1981 with his arch enemy Jumpman (Mario) that he'd last 19 years?

Gameplay: 10 DK64 is full of huge levels to explore and there's a ton of mini games to go around. You control five kongs, each with their own atacks and weapons. Each boss is different and has its own weaknesses and strengths.

Story: 10 Donkey Kong is working out one day when he is surprised to find that all his friends have been ape-naped. When he leaves his house, Donkey finds a huge alligator who is caged up. The aligator reveals that the evil K. Rool is planning to blow up Kong Island. It is Donkey's job to find his friends and to stop K. Rool from destroying Kong Island.

Graphics: 10 Graphically, DK64 is suporior to almost any game that I have seen on the nintendo 64. Each Kong is extremely smooth in texture and in movement. The levels have a great variety of terrain; from a lush jungle to a barren desert. The water textures are superior to almost any nintendo 64 game. There aren't any problems with pop-ups. Likewise there isn't any slow down with the frame rate.

Sound: 10 The DK rap at the beginning of the game is outragously funny. Each level has its own type of music to set the mood. Each Kong has its very own voice. When you go under water all the sounds are muffelled and distorted.

Replay Value: 10 Even after you have beaten DK64, there are tons of bananas to find, mini games to play, and secrets to unlock. There is even a battle mode.

Rareware has again made a smash hit that is all it is hyped up to be. This is a must buy for any one with a nintendo 64. With lots of mini games and huge levels this is one of the best 3D platform game ever!
