1080: TenEighty Snowboarding
Review by Pesmerga516
"A decent racer, but MarioKart is still better"
1080 Snowboarding comes off as a pretty good game. And that it is. But it isn't great.
Graphics: 9/10
Very good graphics. Scenes are very realilistic. Snow flying up underneath your board as you race down a hill is a very nice effect. But in some places there would be slowdown and clipping. Occasionaly, half of my boarder's board would go through a tree. But the game still has pretty good graphics.
Sound/Music: 8/10
In some areas of Sound/Music 1080 excells, but in others it falls flat. Most of the track's music fits in with the track itself. But some of the sound effects are way off. And the in game voices (there are about 1 for each character when you pick them) are pretty bad. But still 1080 has decent music.
Fun Factor: 8/10
1080 is a pretty fun game. There isn't a better feeling in the world than seeing your opponent crash into a tree and fall cause you "accidentally" bumped into him. This game really excells in multiplayer. That is the best feature of this game. A four-player mode would have been nice, but I suppose the graphics would have suffered too much and slwodown would be very common.
Replay Value: 7/10
Hey, once you beat this game, there isn't that much to do. I mean, it's pretty boring once youo beat it. And beating it is pretty hard. Hard enough to turn away more casual gamers.
Overall: 7/10
An OK game, but if you're lookin for a great racing game for N64, go buy MarioKart or San Francisco Rush.
